    I think they win as my favorite bird. They're so amazing in so many ways. Such strong personalities...I know I am not the only one who has experienced them literally watching me through a window...you can feel those tiny little eyes boring into you, "where's the food, hooman?? Make with filling the feeder!""

    I didn't know how hummers could be caught. They are smart and fast. Thanks for the video!

      Yeah, I think the video really showcases how crafty they can be! It’s definitely not easy, haha

    Nice! It’s rufous/allen season here in California now, so that means always trying to get spread tail photos, which is pretty difficult.

    I love hummingbirds! I call them the "Flying Jewels"! It's amazing how they just kind of freeze up and don't struggle at all when captured, which is a good thing! Thanks, guys!

      Yeah! I was surprised about that as well. They're just kind of like "well, you got me" until they realize they're free.

      @@BadgerlandBirding Yes, with a little wind blown up their skirt to help them on their way! Tee hee! ;)

    I tried that bird-trapping trick. Now my car is full of birds!

    Data collection is always interesting and important but occasionally it's visually amazing. Great video, thanks for documenting an important process that helps us learn more about our winged friends!

    What camera do y'all have?

    • @BadgerlandBirding
      @BadgerlandBirding  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used two different cameras for this video. The type of shots that you see at 1:56 I used the Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ-80 and for some of the close-ups such as the ones at 4:25 I used the Nikon D5300 with a wide angle lens.

      Wow thanks for the reply. What did you use for the snowy owl in the other recent vid? All your pictures look so good!

    • @BadgerlandBirding
      @BadgerlandBirding  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! All the Snowy footage was shot with the Panasonic LUMIX DMC FZ-80 and the really still stuff was with a tripod too.
