Its a ppp model, budget issues doesnt arise from now onwards, the role of state government is limited to nothing, what all should be done by the government was already done, now its in the hands of GMR infra, the more investments will lead them to more profits, so there is a chance of hike in investment to improve the aesthetics but no way to shrink the budget.

Sad to see that no elevated pick and drop way and has only mezzanine arrival, departute structure. Tier system would help inflow and outflow traffic just like hyderabad and vijayawada. Good to see many jet bridges. Hope this airport turns as an important international transit spot.

Exactly. I see the need for a bigger airport as every time I travel, I see the current airport is full and busy with long queues at the security. But travelling to the airport will be expensive and time consuming. The highway connecting the airport is expanded to six lanes, but getting out the city will be a challenge.

This is will be unfinished airport for next decade or 2 coz the govt changes and priorities changes.. one more unfinished dream of vizag , pity for the potential city to become tier 1 but always stuck in tier 2 list . Thank you vizag ! But it’s a pretty unfair world we live in .

Compare GDP and Income.
Mumbai Gets only 7 rupees for every 100 rupees paid in taxes whereas Arunachal pradesh get 400 rupees for every 100 rupees paid.
Is Arunachal pradesh better than Mumbai? I am comparing a city with whole state and yet, mumbai has better projects and development.
Budgets never determine the development, mainly the municipality. Projects in a city gets funded by banks, central govt and State governements, and municipality budget is just for maintaining the city not for developement and projects.
Hyderabad is in whole different league than Vizag.
Compare Vizag with Nagpur and Pune.
Moreover, Vizag is a very beautiful city. Making it a capital will just make it ugly by destroying the mountains. Just look out of the flight window, Vizag is 1000x more beautiful than any other tier-2 and tier-1 cities. It's better not to touch vizag. Let it be beautiful, clean and green without much traffic.

Most probably Bhogapuram airport is the most farthest airport from city. 45 km from the city center and 65 km from other end. Even metros with a large city area like Bengaluru have airport within 35 km range from the city center. It was a gross negligence of consecutive state governments who didn't plan a new airport for one of the important city in Andhra Pradesh for decades.
the city is going to expand to the north man.... Vizag population is very less and land is constrained due to mountains to grow inwards... location its very well thought out...
