I had a Land Rover Discovery Sport it cost me 37k. I had nothing but problems. I kept up with services and mot's, too. It ended up on the back of a recovery truck twice. It was also parked at Land Rover for 3 months, number 13 in line waiting for a part of what wasn't even in the country. I spent probably 6k on all the repairs that it needed. I had to buy myself a little run around car to get me to and from work. I ended up paying the balloon balance and sold it to bmw. I now have a Kia Sportage GTline 72 plate paid for in full after my Land Rover Discovery Sport. I never wanted another car on finance. I am very happy with my Kia Sportage GT line.

It’s been a year since I bought the car and the car is still not fixed. It has less than 1000 miles on it. JLR has been non-responsive to calls I made in the past and efforts to contact them on social media. I even tried to shame them with photos of the exhaust. And yet, no response. A new exhaust system was approved. The first arrived damaged. Still waiting on a new one. I am due to receive the 2024 SV RR Sport in May. What can I say. My confidence in LR is now quite low. 😢

As a big LR/RR fan running a slightly slower TDV8 the never ending reliability stories are depressing. Is it engineering design, factory assembly or components (maybe a few Chinese bits in there). Incredible they can’t sort this out, but if I had the money I’d still buy one. Must be mad.

It's always somebody else's fault but your own yet you're the carmaker. Grow a pair and take responsibility. If at all there's any truth to this, you ordered the cheap Chinese parts and put them in your car to save costs , didn't you? Now the car breaks down its the fault of the Chinese. So silly! To answer your question no it's not their fault. You bought the food from the take away and ate it evdn though you know it was suspiciously cheap and smelt off. You're sick and want to sue the takeaway place. While I understand that is the typical western conduct, you need to learn responsibility and that only you are responsible for yourself. Your mindset will not help you at all. Ask yourself why the Chinese cars that also have parts don't breakdown as much as a Range Rover. I had my new SV identical to yours for just 1 week before returning it yesterday. I saw this video before taking delivery so checked with the dealer that this issue had been resolved. Assured it was? Oil leaks all over my driveway after 1 day with clunking noises from the rear, sounds like I had the same problems as yours. A quick fix by LR solved the leaks but did not resolve the noisy and rough gear changes. Lost trust in the safety and reliability of this Edition One SV so decided to return it. LR should never have delivered these faulty vehicles after your report. Now happily back in my 5yr old SVR until hopefully the next edition has resolved all the issues. PS The dealer was super efficient and professional through all the issues - shoutout to them.

Sounds like they fixed the leaks rather than replace the transfer box, the box with no oil rips the box apart so if it was making noises it makes you think it’s still broken.

Transfer case! Experience some bumping as if some one is bumping you from behind only taking off, then goes away. Usually it’s un noticeable until the transfer case warms up then you get the bumping feel. When the noise went a way the vehicle probably just went to rear wheel drive and couldn’t read the front wheel speed. Surprise it didn’t throw a million codes and limp mode.

Landrover are so reactive it's unreal. They have been having these issues for so many years now and people have been complaining about reliability, yet they are doing nothing about it. It's the same with the insurance problems that happened in the UK recently where their security on the cars are nothing to write home about and so easy to steal. This affected insurance prices as insurance companies said enough is enough..we are not insuring these cars any longer and if we do, we will charge between £10,000 to £15,000 a year to insure. People started cancelling orders, people who owned cars started to sell for cheap and orders for cars started to reduce especially with how expensive their cars are at the moment.
Guess what? They immediately started calling every customer to come and upgrade the security on their cars..even though this issues has existed for 15 years. Their cars are beautiful and exude luxury but useless for reliability. Their customer service is horrendous, their service partners are unprofessional, rude and useless

After 15 years of Land Rover ownership and 217,000 miles experience, I can only say that my cars have been outstandingly good and the service I have had and still get from the Dealership has been perfect. To hear of the problems on this video is very disappointing but it sounds like they have had a batch of faulty parts…this should not happen and only fuels those who jump to attack JLR at every opportunity. So many regard owners as being “ mugs” or stupid fashion victims or idiots for buying them but the reality is that we are mostly thoughtful and reasoning people who would jump to another brand of the situation was really what you read from Facebook warriors. I have owned 74 cars…a new BMW needed a full engine rebuild at 1400 miles after the valve gear broke up….a JEEP Was a disaster from just one mile after collecting the car from the dealership and after two years of constant trouble and recoveries, I sold it as a non runner. Mercedes were perfect to drive but the Dealership experience was simply dreadful and involved trying to charge for work not needed and faults that didn’t exist. There is more but my point is that JLR has been the best over all experience and even in this film, they were fast to help and correct the problem. I know they are deeply upset about how things have gone…the theft problem was solved in 2022 but the old cars suffered as we know but no more than any other keyless entry car. I cannot change the mind of those who hate Land Rover but am still hoping to get a new RR Sport Autobiography very soon…I’m not too concerned about failings but do know it will be outstanding to drive as it does the job I need…as in the past 14 years. 🙂🙂🙂

I wonder if JLR ‘get away’ with producing cars like this because the owners are generally high net worth / well off / great company car - in other words fairly loaded. In that way, they have a second car to use for work / pleasure when you can’t use it, buy a run about when you can’t use it, or even get rid and buy another with barely a shrug.
