Very helpful, thanks. I adjusted my charts as follows: 21d sma dashed line with .5 opacity, 50d thin line 1.0 opacity, 200 day thin line 1.0 on the yearly chart, "area" style on the 10 year chart--much more pleasing to the eye, well, my eye anyway!
You can also use Bollinger bands with area style and low opacity and lower standard deviation to form a moving average with varying thickness….., I call it moving average with attitude…
