    2:03 Howard Jones - No One Is To Blame (plus snippets)
    2:14 Pink Panther theme (Henry Mancini, IIRC?)
    2:43 Bill Withers - Lovely Day
    4:39 The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony
    6:00 Shanice - I Love Your Smile
    6:53 TLC - Waterfalls
    7:58 Dire Straits - Walk of Life
    8:32 Level 42 - Running In The Family
    8:46 Steve Winwood - Valerie
    9:20 Major Lazer - Lean On?
    9:45 ?
    10:15 The Doors - Light My Fire (probably not?)
    10:50 I feel like I should know that one, but the second part just sounds like the theme from Gremlins. lol
    11:40 John Williams - Triassic Pork (tm)
    I like music, me. lol
    (a few gaps in there, mainly the jazzier ones.)

    Great video Woody, bit surprised at some of the negative comments regarding the CK88, I think for the price this is the best Stage Piano Yamaha have produced. For gigs, the weight, having on board speakers, plus some great piano and EP sounds along with huge functionality make it a great model. Having listened to it live it sounds absolutely superb, I think it is a great choice for musicians playing live

    Hey Woody. Love your reviews and I find it really helpful that you try and reply to each comment.
    Id just like to know whether the sound quality for Pianos, EPs, rhodes and organs on the CK are atleast at par with those on the modx. I dont care about synth sounds.
    Also. The effects for distortion, overdrive and rotaries. Are they good enough for live gigs in your opinion? Thanks in advance!

    Excuse could you please tell me which setting did you use for CK 88 Piano solo ? The Keyboard touch is Normal, Hard or Soft ? Did you change the Cut off or Resonance ? Did you use the compressor ? If so which values ? The three level of the Equalizer seem right in the middle value seen form here, isn't it ? Sorry for all these question but I've just bought the CK 88 but the sound of piano seems so closed, it doesn't want to come out and is very different from your sound that is so good. Thank you.

    I’d love to see a somewhat in depth comparison/side by side shootout between this and the Studiologic Numa X while you have them!
    I’m currently trying to decide between the two while I wait for my tax return to get here 😁
    I’m in love with the look, sounds, and how intuitive the interface seems on the CK series. How do the keybeds compare on the CK88 vs the Numa X?
    I think I’m leaning toward the Numa X 73 right now mainly just because I like that size, 41.4” width vs 52.5” on the CK88 is pretty notable with portability in mind. It’s a shame Yamaha didn’t offer an in between size in their CK line..
    It would be great to see some kind of shootout between the two, the seem to fit a similar niche and there isn’t anything out there comparing them to help a guy decide lol. You could be the hero that puts that out there!
    Love the content either way, I’ll be subscribing and hoping to see that video 🤞

    I'm really interested in getting one to play live in a rock band. Have also looked at the Juno DS since I can get the 88 version a lot cheaper in the 2nd hand market but the CK is what I will mostly likely get. Great playing!

    • @michaelmanning7234
      @michaelmanning7234 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve got the roland Juno DS and am gonna upgrade to this. The Juno has killer sounds but having all of the effects (distort,delay,reverb,etc) on dedicated knobs is something I’ve been missing dearly. Playing rock I need to adjust effects constantly in real time depending on the room and how loud the lead guitar is. Also stacking keys with 3 individual faders to control 3 keyboard layers seems great! These features are nothing new but I try to keep my live rig under a certain $$$ in case of theft/mishaps.

    • @davidmartin123
      @davidmartin123 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      A Bosendorfer piano would have been a nice addition to round out the acoustic piano choices, even a stripped-down sampled version. But yes, Yamaha is careful to not allow the lower tier products to sound as good as their higher tier products, even if it is technically feasible and cost efficient to do so. That's just the biz.

    • @WoodyPianoShack
      @WoodyPianoShack  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      i would say all yamaha acoustic pianos have a compressed, polished and studio-reday sound, if you know what I mean. I like it, and didn't find it a problem playing live, more of a pleasure. I would like some more "character" pianos though.

    Very nice demo, Woody. Thanks for that. Only thing is I feel like when you wanted to increase rotary speed on the organs, you added modulation with the mod wheel. Could it be thay rotary speed is actually controlled with the pitch bend instead (like it is on the reface YC)?

    • @luucdentoom6955
      @luucdentoom6955 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @luucdentoom6955
      @luucdentoom6955 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ChrisP3000x thanks, I assumed this was the case. But then again, in the demo it sounds as if Woody doesn’t speed up the rotary, but adds a tremolo effect with the modulation wheel. I used to have the reface YC and since the CK seems to have the same organ engine, I assume the rotary effect is the same as on the reface. And to be honest, that was better than in this demo on the CK.
