Istoria Clujana începe în anul 1911 când frații Renner au înființat
"Fabrica de Piele Frații Renner & Co".
După primul război mondial a devenit societate pe acțiuni schimbându-și numele în "Dermata".
În anul 1948 a fost confiscată de regimul comunist și redenumită în
"Fabrica de încălțăminte Janos Herbak", apoi redenumită în
"Fabrica de Pielărie și încălțăminte Cluj", iar în final "SC Clujana SA".
În anii 80 ajunge cea mai mare fabrică de încălțăminte din Estul Europei.
Fabrica a fost închisă pentru o perioadă de aproximativ 5 ani, iar în decembrie 2003 Clujana și-a reluat activitatea, dar cu un număr redus de angajați
În vizita la fabrica Clujana am aflat că fabricarea unei perechi de încălțăminte are trei etape: croit, cusut și tălpuit.

The history of Clujana begins in 1911 when the Renner brothers founded it
"Renner Brothers Leather Factory & Co."
After the First World War it became a joint stock company changing its name to "Dermata".
In 1948 it was confiscated by the communist regime and renamed in
"Janos Herbak Shoe Factory", then renamed
"Leather and Footwear Factory Cluj", and finally "SC Clujana SA".
In the 80's it became the largest shoe factory in Eastern Europe.
The factory was closed for a period of about 5 years, and in December 2003 Clujana resumed its activity, but with a small number of employees
During the visit to the Clujana factory, I found out that the manufacture of a pair of shoes has three stages: tailoring, sewing and sole.
