A simple video to showcase why Richard Burns Rally is the undisputed king, sitting alone on the throne for 20 years now. When played in VR (as I do with the Quest 3), magnifies the brilliance of its exceptional physics compared to any monitor setup and demonstrates that every other rally title is simply trash when it comes to driving pleasure.
One additional note: Coco Hayashi (Setsuna Yuki's new VA and Drummer from myGO), Ayumu Uehara and her beloved bestie, Shioriko Mifune, all still love playing Richard Burns Rally on their PC & PS2 game backlog. It may only had 8 cars but the damage, crash physics and car deformation physics are still the best of alltime.
I won't hide from you that when I saw it I got the shivers of fear 😫 you have an amazing guide.. I don't know if I will ever bring a game like this to my channel
Rally driving using a DD wheel base is one of the best gaming experiences I’ve had in all my 40 years of gaming! I work in agriculture and have travelled on bumpy dirt and gravel roads a lot and was shocked how well my 8nm (I urge anyone with the 5nm to get the boost kit) CSL DD simulated the feeling through the WRC wheel.
Looks so effortless when u steer with 1 hand. For me it feels so heavy. Do you have your fanatec control panel settigs accessable somewhere? Super curious to try different settings
When I watch these guys play on a DD wheel it looks like the wheel can easily move their hands out of their control. When I try to turn my FFB on my T300 that high, it works well, but then I feel like I have to fight the wheel out of the center position -- doesn't feel very realistic to me. Not sure though as I've always driven cars with power steering in real life other than maybe I've moved one around in a parking lot once... just going by what the wheel/hands look like when I watch a real GT3 racer from cockpit view and what I see with these guys that have the DD wheel... It just seems like either the wheel gets too stiff when I'm on a smooth turn or I turn the FFB down and the jolts/ffb are way too soft. So, if Moza even existed when I bought mine, I would have regretted not getting the DD wheel instead... however, my options were $300 T300 (on sale) or like $1500 for Fanatec... so I made the right decision.
*meant to say but today, if I was making the purchase all over again, it would definitely be Moza's DD, or that other one (Is it simmagic? or simcube? don't feel like looking it up but you know, the competitor to Fanatec)

Hi I have a question I play on rbr and ea wrc but my car and my steering wheel don't react the same way as you do even though I have the same equipment. The car goes very fast into the scenery without being able to catch it or even feel that it is possible so the problem would be more related to my steering wheel settings? or maybe the game?
Not sure tbh. But I recommend you try my settings. I use Fanalabs recommended settings for DiRT Rally 2.0 and default in-game settings in both games. Set the steering angle to 540 for best muscle memory. And give it a go. Rally also takes a lot of practice to be fast, so don't give up😉
@ Ok that works thanks and you in fanalab your steering wheel angle is how much? Is it the same on all the games and the car you use? And the steering wheel calibration in the game, you turn it to 100% according to the angle you have, right?
@nolanperrussel1833 If the game has soft-lock, I always turn it on so the steering wheel matches the real car. In games like RBR, I set it manually. The easiest and most consistent way, though, is to use 540 degrees and stick with it, it’s great for building muscle memory 😉 But I always make sure to match my wheel to the real car. I like a challenge 😁
Thank you so much, mate 🙌 It’s super slippery out there, and using the handbrake is the best way for me to maintain speed. Plus, I can’t lie, I just love sliding around 😁
I'm starting to get curious about rally by watching this guy's videos every now and then. It's so foreign to me. No idea what the person in the background is yappin about... kinda sounds like they're suggesting speeds for turns but not sure how much help that is if you're new to the track and can't tell exactly where the turn starts, and if you're familiar with the track it seems totally unneeded. I might have to get a rally game and find out though XD
@aryah1513 Rally can feel pretty foreign at first, but once you get into it, it’s incredibly rewarding. The person in the background is the co-driver, and they’re calling out pace notes, which give you an idea of the severity of the upcoming turns. It takes some practice to understand and use them effectively, but it’s part of what makes rally so unique. Definitely give a rally game a try, it’s a whole different world of racing, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it! 😉
