You probably like it now because it greatly benefited from the pellet rework a couple months ago. Duality in hip fire mode acts as a precision frame, same as matador.
Hey Wallah ngl, Revision Zero has been my absolute favorite pulse rifle and it just does so well. I love it and would love to see an updated video on it since it gets all the Pulse rifle range buffs since it's coded as an AGGRESSIVE FRAME which means it has massive range with Trace IV and Ricochet Rounds alone in 4 burst and especially the sweet sweet 42.30 meters in 2 burst
That was one of the best worst matches of my life man. GGs to you and Gary. I really wanted to switch my loadout in that match, but I also wanted to annoy the shit out of you with my bow. Hats off brotha.
Heard A LOT of good things about Felwinters Lie since the Shotgun changes. Shot Package + Surplus on a few different Classes that have abilities with multiple charge options now gives you real nice Handling & Reload! Could be a nice Thorn pairing if a God Roll Matador still evades you or you fancy something different.

Dawg, I've been telling my friends to use Duality more because of how consistent it can be with it being a precision/slug hybrid. Like you, I'm on the belief that, until Thorn gets it's catalyst, or unless you're willing to use a exotic in your weapon slot, Duality is such a good and consistent weapon if you're looking for that inbetween that Matador can't give you.

every time i watch wallah his sword with no ammo always feels like it has ammo... when I use my sword with no ammo it literally detriments my movement but wallah uses it to actually quickly change directions mid air and it... works? and this scenario is even more ridiculous i mean a grapple melee into uncharged sword kill is just busted, how did this work?

Duality has been great forever. It's a very strong Jim/Dad choice if you don't have perfect god rolls on the legendary options. A fine choice in the Crucible.
I dont get how people discover duality now im using it all the time when i got a lendary primary in the first slot since it released basically. Im always trying to fill my exotic slot. And since im a chaperone main since forsaken Duality is perfect for me. But since i got conditional finality not even my beloved slugs could bring me to not use it.

I think the main reason you don't see it much is because it actually requires a little thinking when to ads and when to hipfire 😅
I think its due to other shotgun options available, precision spread shotguns or conditional.
