Holden, you and Jenna need to see Godzilla Minus One, it is amazing
Jenn, Godzilla is what's known as a "protector" Titan. He's here to protect the planet. The reason he and Kong were fighting in the last one, was because Godzilla saw Kong as a rival alpha. So Godzilla was challenging Kong for the right to rule over all the Titans. In the end, Kong lost and submitted to Godzilla, and then they teamed up to fight Mecha-Godzilla, where Godzilla saw Kong as an equal and also a defender that can help him against the other Titans.
So now they're friends, and they're both Alphas (even though Godzilla is still technically the top dog) and they both defend the world from rogue Titans.
More than that, Godzilla was ticked off for the majority of the movie because he kept sensing a rival titan but couldn't find it (MechaGodzilla), so he was lashing out at the nearest one (Kong).

Godzilla roared while standing on Kong. Kong roared back in defiance, you're right. But then Godzilla roared again and Kong stayed REAL quiet about it. Knowing that he had lost.

If jen thinks Kong was tortured in Godzilla vs Kong, she will be traumatised after seeing Peter Jackson's King Kong (2005) . One of the most heart breaking movies ever for me.
This is true! Kongs treatment kinda pissed me off! When I re-watch it I stop watching when he's brought to New York. Just sad! Kong deserved better!

The real reason Godzilla fought Kong was that after he defeated Ghodorah, they got the 3rd head and it was calling out on Godzilla just like Godzilla tracked down Ghidorah in Antarctica battle and after searching for 4 years, he was exhausted and annoyed and then they put kong in front of him so he thought he was the alpha titan calling out
Idk how it’s hard to grasp that difference company’s make different films. There’s Japanese Godzilla and there’s American Godzilla.

Love to hear what you think about Godzilla minus One. Fantastic movie!! It's a full story as opposed to a movie where you solely wait for the human characters to go away and bring on the monsters.
One of the coolest things is the fact that King Kong has been played by both Caesar and Koba
Jen in the first film Godzilla V Kong it was explained that every kaiju has a Alpha or Omega energy wave pattern and when a Alpha energy wave pattern enters another Alpha kaiju's so called Territory it is a instant fight until 1 of them gives up or it's a fight to the death now if a omega kaiju enters into a Alpha kaiju territory it doesn't take a monster expert to know what kind of fight is fixing to go down 😂😂😂
I think the Kong gauntlet is gonna be the equivalent of a cast after he gets beat down by Skar King

I agree. Godzilla minus one was soooo good. One of its biggest strengths is hollywood's biggest weakness when it comes to their godzilla movies. The human characters in the american godzilla movies are kinda forgettable

Please show Jen THE BEST King Kong movie! King Kong 2005, truly the best story, cinematic King Kong movie. She will never forgive humans in that movie especially a couple scenes
For Jen, the monsterverse movies have that Titans live under an Alpha system. Regardless of species, Titans submit to the Alpha. Throughout the movies, we have only seen three species/individuals as Alpha. Ghidorah, an alien dragon. Titanus Gojira, Godzilla, the reigning alpha. And Titanus Kong, the massive apes Kong belongs to.
In the ancient pasts, the Gojira and the Kongs went to war. The Gojira won and nearly wiped out the Kongs. We thought Kong the ape was the last survivor til now from that war.
The reason for their fighting in the movie is because Skull Island served as a refuge. Despite not submitting to Godzilla, Kong was safe there. But once he was moved, Godzilla came for him as a challenger. They found a common enemy in GvK and when Kong dropped the axe, he submitted to Godzilla, which meant he could live in Hollow Earth as he pleased.
So I’m unsure if anyone’s mentioned it in the comments here, but from what I’ve seen on other videos, the new titan ‘villain’ is called scar king, and is known to be a cannibal. I believe (although I could be wrong) he has killed and/or eaten from both Kong and Godzilla species. I think someone said he’s fought/was around when kings species and zillas species were fighting one another
Another thing is that scar king is able to control shimu, the first ever titan (and I believe the most powerful ever?) hence the probable team up between zilla and Kong as zilla isn’t strong enough on his own
4:32 it was mentioned in kong vs zilla, they are both Alphas/Kings and neither will pend the knee to the other but there can be only 1king, only reason they solved their issue is cause kong got in to hollow earth and zilla accepted that kong can rule hallow earth while he rules surface (zilla is not 2greedy) + cause common enemy to
I'm glad you'll be watching Godzilla Minus One. I know it's Japanese and with subtitles, BUT it is the BEST Godzilla film to date, in my opinion.
Of course, I'm not even close to being alone on my sentiment here. This film incorporates the human element better than ANY of the American Legendary monsterverse films. Easily. Hands down.
This film had an amazing plot with heart. A beautiful story of redemption for this anti-war film. I just loved the classic Godzilla theme to it too. Best of all, YOU DON'T NEED TO SEE ANY OTHER GODZILLA FILM in order to watch this. It's a perfect standalone film! Perfect for JENN!!! -OG
This will only be the third time Godzilla and Kong have been in the same movie. First was King Kong vs Godzilla in the 1960s, then its “remake” Godzilla vs Kong and now this.
Also, check out the older films. Get suggestions from the fans on which films to choose, they can be watched basically in any order.
But always go with the original 1954 film.

A first watch/rewatch of the Monsterverse would be a cool way to prepare for GxK and if it does well on the channel you could even check out other Godzilla stuff
I’m wondering if Monarch on Apple TV+ might be worth a watch for you guys. It basically fleshes out the world of the Titans and takes place after the 2014 movie.
You guys should definitely check out the Legendary Monsterverse series and some older Toho films as well
I love these movies too definitely some of my favorite Godzilla and Kong movies and I don't think they're planning on stopping making them anytime soon because they do make a boatload of money in theaters

4:31 hope they explain why Godzilla’s blast is different from the other movies. 4:48 the reason Godzilla and Kong don’t really get along is because they’re both Alpha Titans like they said in the last movie “Kong bows to no one” and neither does Godzilla.

For centuries the Kong Clan fought the Godzilla Clan. In the last movie they united against a bigger threat. Looks like they are doing it again to stop Scar King. That's the red ape who is bigger than both.

The original King Kong was out in 1933, Then their was a more light heart sequel Son Kong. Then in 1949 there was Mighty Joe Young. A very kid friendly light hearted hero gorilla. Like the size on Son of Kong. Then Japan did Godzilla in 1954. The US wanted to release Godzilla here. But they americanized it. By having actor Raymond Burr played US news reporter Steve Martin, YES Steve Martin. Burr played in many movies usually as a killer. But is best known as the 1957-66 super lawyer Perry Mason. And later as Tv lawyer Ironside. Then in the 1960's TOHO studios in Japan pumped out like tenty cheesy Godzilla movies, And even to King Kong movies too.

Please watch the monsterverse on the channel starting from the godzilla 2014 in release order
It's about having an Alpha. Godzilla and Kong are both at the top...but Godzilla was also freaking out about feeling "Ghidora" who was inside of Mechagodzilla basically. So it was Godzilla putting Kong in his place as #2 and then how they worked together to beat the Mech.
Holden, I completely agree. The Monsterverse movies are just fun entertainment. Let’s not take them too seriously. But I also agree with Jen. Team KONG!
