Thanks for posting! I’m currently facinated by Elvin Jones and Philly Joe Jones; possibly because they play so melodically while also very expressively. Just for context, as a guitarist trying to master the drums, I have always been drawn to Hendrix and the old blues masters. Somehow the expression of especially Elvin and Philly Joe resonates with that type of music. Cheers!
The fast 2 handed way I don't think have I played.👍 I have played a version where the L foot plays 2 and 4 but the R hand plays 1 (2) A 3 (4) A/ 1 ETC. I don't use the stick on 2 and 4.🥁
Great drummers!. One of the many things I love about TH-cam is getting to research and see drummers like these play. I was was fortunate to see a few of the greats live- Max Roach, Roy Haynes, Buddy Rich. Thankfully we have all these videos available to us nowadays!😀Not the same as seeing them live, but at least we can watch them rather then just hear them as in the past.

Two jazz drummers that have inspired me? James Black when he was with Yusef Lateef. Paul Motian with Bill Evans. Rarely gets better than that.
Thank you for this video. The uptempo suggestion was particularly helpful for me.
@@JayOConnor-m3t thanks! I'm glad you found it helpful 😀
Thanks for posting the video Brad. My favorite jazz drummer is Antonio Sanchez
👍👍 la técnica que mejor veo es la de planta -talón.....muy bien explicado....Saludos¡
Gracias. También es mi favorito, especialmente para tempos muy rápidos.😁

Thank you for your feedback. I listened to an interview awhile back with Jimmy Cobb. Very interesting. Both great players. Have a good weekend!😀
