One point: I believe the two set screws are supposed to provide a ground to the vehicle body. Applying tape to the paint may keep the screws from making a good connection. It would be interesting to see how (if) this affects transmission and reception. If it works with the tape then that is great. A nice install of the radio and antenna mount. 🙂

I just bought the 575 through Northridge4x4 I wanted that new mic but it’s been sold out for awhile had the 275 series but the 50w really caught my eye. Using the 3db ghost for now and the diamond antenna bracket

Awesome! You’ll love it! The only downside is sometimes others in your group will be able to hear you…but you won’t be able to hear them if they are using a weaker radio. But it works flawlessly!

don't waste your money on the new mic, I had two direct from Midland and both had significantly less performance than the stock mic - as per several other users who I talked with. It also suffers from noticeably less volume, which could be an issue in a Jeep.

Nice quick install. We love the MXT575 have one in the JK and Gladiator, MXT275 in the TJ and MXT115 in the SXS. I am considering getting the new mic because of the noise canceling.

I got a midland radio on the way. I also got the external speaker so that I can hear it better. I can't wait until I get mine installed

Where did you get the external speaker? I can barely hear mine... thought about putting it through my dash
      radio

@fergiethejku midland has them. I got mine in a bundle through them. But you can buy just the speaker. Also, if you live close to a truck, stop they have them too

You say Radio install but when you get to supplying power, Nothing. The single most important aspect to installing this radio is getting the proper amount of power supplied safely and not in some Micky Mouse fashion. This is why you only have 35 likes out of 989 views. Frustrating for viewers, sad, this could have been a great video.

😂 I mention it. If you can’t hook a ring to a battery…then you shouldn’t be doing this install. I think I mention that too. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@WarPaintOffroad Ouch!!! Can you tell me where in your video you said "If you can’t hook a ring to a battery…then you shouldn’t be doing this install" ?🤷‍♂🤷‍♂🤷‍♂Tell me how far in, 🤷‍♂at what minute count you said these words.🤷‍♂🤷‍♂🤷‍♂ I think you'er confused with a different video. My point is, everything you covered in your video is obvious. I"m surprised you didn't explain to us morons how to open the box and remove the screen protecter.🤷‍♂🤷‍♂🤷‍♂ As I stated, The single most important aspect to installing this radio is getting the proper amount of power supplied safely and not in some Micky Mouse fashion, and not just hooking to a battery. You don't mean like stripping the red wire down and clamping it to the Pos + battery post? Wait, or is it the Neg -?🤔🤔🤔 After spending 12 minutes and 15 seconds of my life watching your epic How To production, I found a video from Blue Ridge Overland Gear (see link below ) You should watch it. It will help you to understand what you are doing and why. Oh by the way, most dedicated, affordable GMRS handheld radios are 5 watt not 3, just sayin. 🤷‍♂🤷‍♂🤷‍♂One more bit of advice. Grow some thicker skin. When some smart ass responds negatively to one of your videos, just ignore it. In order for your response to be effective, it must be accurate.

Wiring straight to the battery is shoddy work. Needs to be wired in where it only receives power with the key on. Otherwise you're just asking for parasitic drain on the battery.
