Just wanted to let you know that I’m just getting into “overlanding” with my family. Your videos have inspired me to go explore the Ozarks and you sharing your routes and locations is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing all of this!
I am so glad I found your channel. I'm from Louisiana but lived in Arkansas for 7 years. During that time I fell in love with the Ozarks, especially the Richland creek area. I'm back in Louisiana now but I come up every year. Mostly just to camp and hike. I'm just now getting into overlanding. I've been building out my Tacoma and it's time to put it through it's paces. I'm so excited to hit these trails when I come back in October/November. Seriously, awesome channel!!!
I appreciate the advice you gave in the video. I also enjoyed the photography. I drive my Subaru Outback in the Ozarks & Ouachitas. I understand my limitations & don't do anything too technical. But I still get good ideas & learn things from your videos. Thanks for sharing!
I’m coming up this week to investigate the Ozarks for the first time in the JL! If anyone wants to join, I’m doing a few trails on Thursday. Great info in these videos - thank you!
Took the fam up there for Labor day in our LR3. We loved it! Great trails and lots of water! Really need to get deep into the trails maps and find some locals next time. The humidity was rough in the Roof top tent. Planning another trip up there in Oct.
Great first day! I was amazed to see the ELK at Snow Ball. The wife and I usually take 4-5 days in October and usually start at Snow Ball and end at my Buddies home in Oark. A few years back the gym was all decorated up for Halloween the wife loved it. I have never been to the narrows I will definitely add that to the route. I appreciate the time and effort you put into the videos. I wish I had half the knowledge you have of the Gaia GPS, but thanks to you being a great teacher I am learning slowly.
Love the video! Just got to the area and hit the trail from Snowball. Got through the easier water crossing, but right as I was getting to the campground my power steering rack failed. 🤦🏻♂️ Sadly, it’s been recently showing subtle signs of failure. Getting buttoned up now and excited to see more of Arkansas!
Thank you so much for creating this route and making the video. I am from new jersey, and I'm on the way back from Colorado Utah road trip. I have a few days to experience the Ozarks and having routes that I know will be passable, open and especially having some Primark campsites will be super helpful. Cheers!
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures we are planning to go BUT I work at a high school and with covid and all that our football schedule is whack. Once homecoming dates are final I will know if we can go. Fingers crossed they finalize dates this week so I can make plans

Thanks for doing this for everyone. I come over from Oklahoma and i been exploring roads on my own using gaia maps and TH-cam but your vids will be a great help. I look forward to your following vids. 👍
I’m really looking forward to this series. I haven’t run trails in the Ozarks, but I’ve driven trails through Ouachita NF a few times and have experienced plenty of dead ends that looked like through-routes on maps/gps.
This is great to see as I live in northwest Arkansas, and would really like to drive these trails. Although when I did try the link for gaia "you do not have permission" popped up. I am ok with scratches on my jeep as it is the way of national forest trails.. I have some friends that could enjoy the wider trails and this would get them out of the house and their jeeps away from mall parking lots.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures Thank you for taking the time to to help out. It's working great now, and I am already looking to see what is next on the adventure list.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures I got the opportunity last weekend to run some of the trails that you had uploaded, and want to say thank you for taking the time to do it. It helped me kind of figure out where I could take my friends in their new rigs and have a good time too.

These trails look amazing. I was invited to go in the middle of October next month. You think my chevy 1500 with a 6inch lift would fit on these trails? I've upgraded the truck for search and rescue and off-road recoveries, 4wd with 12k winch and all.
I have been thinking about a camping trip down to the Ozarks and Ouichita NF over New Years. This video make me a little nervous with all the water crossings. I’ve never been down there, anyone know what the trails tend to be like this time of year? I’ve got a xterra lifted 2 inches, breathers but no snorkel.
The Colorado trip was well filmed too. Really enjoyed that series. I can't get over the maps you use showing your routes, what software or map system do you use in these videos?
Matt if your doing a traverse type trail, I’m kinda surprised you put 1424 up to buck knob on this. It’s gonna cause issues /damage for a stockish or full size rig on those ledges, same for the loop off Morgan mt. Into spy rock with those ruts/ mudholes and rocks. It’s great having some difficulty thrown in but it would be bad to see a trip ruined due to damage. Kinda hate to see a lot of this put out there , it’s gonna be like the old high water mark trail that a lot of this follows, in that it’s gonna really get a lot of folks on it, but I assume that’s the goal. But at least you did stop short on some good camps ,but they will also soon become popular I’m sure . I just hate to see this area get more over run than it already is. But good job on the video quality and drone work
Dave Lay yeah I totally understand your concerns and have the same myself. However I have gotten so tired of people floundering around the Ozarks and running illegal trails and not having a clue that I thought it would be best to lay out some of the more well traveled areas for people to have. From there they can learn to explore on their own. Those areas you talk about around Spy Rock, etc, have bypasses around the more technical sections and the videos will help show people what they are getting into so they can decide if they are up for it or not. That’s also why I wanted to run this with a mix of rigs to show how it can be done. My hope is that this helps the Ozarks rather that hurt them. Time will tell if I was right or not. I hope that makes sense.
I agree on folks running illegal, I’m not sure if that will ever stop and as you know the sxs crew is is the worst of them all. And , We do need to police from within As you noted . I do hope folks will make a educated decision on to run or not run and not blindly just follow the track. I’d hate to see a inexperienced guy in his new 4 runner of full-size rig drop off into spy hollow or such. You did a good job of cautioning about water levels I hope they listen . I guess I worry to much about others, but I have seen so many people mess up nice rigs and have done way to many trail fixes over a lot of years of doing this Stuff and rock crawling Thanks man. Looking forward to the other videos !
Dave Lay I really appreciate your heart in this. I promise to handle that video (day 4) with great caution and educate people along the way. We are very like minded.
I fully agree Matt And thanks. I know we both fight for keeping the trails open and spend way to much time picking up other people’s trash I hope to run up on ya and maybe share a campfire one day. I’ll be the old guy in the Built beater Jeep or The 100 series land cruiser Take care Matt
Thanks!! No drone issues in the Ozarks. You just can’t fly it in the Buffalo River area and the Richland Creek Wilderness area. But the road at Richland Creek is outside the wilderness area so you should be fine as long as you don’t hike in with it.

@@OzarkOverlandAdventures thanks, going to watch the videos. I used to wheel alot when stationed in alaska but havent done any since living back in illinois. Want to take the boys on an overland trip. This looks like it would work.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures been watching the other videos. Will a crew cab f-150 fit down all the trails?
@@mtl98-n9g do you care about scratches?
Well if i am going to start doing this i just need to get used to them. My truck is 9-10yrs old not many scratches though, but it is a truck after all.
Very inspiring, can I sign up for your next adventure?
Jehad Hannoush thank you!! Come to Rendezvous In the Ozarks Oct 16-18 and hang out with us.
Ozark Overland Adventures I was one click away from registration but all the guided trail was full , do you think I can squeeze in , or are you running your own trails
Jehad Hannoush there will be plenty of people going out on their own. I’m not sure if I’m an official guide or not. You’re welcome to join us.
Ozark Overland Adventures Done ! I just finished the registration, And looking forward to meet up with you , save a spot for me please in your routes , I will be driving from Orlando and really eager to trail in the Ozark .. thank you
Jehad Hannoush wooo hoooo. That’s awesome. Looking forward to meeting you.
How long is the OOAT?
Hooked!
I was checking the routes you posted. I am new to this and this may be a dumb question but what are the different colored lines and what do they mean? There's green, purple, red and yellow.
Each color is a different day.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures ok sorry, I thought it might be difficulty markings but I didn't know for sure. Thanks.
i miss these gas prices. especially as an owner of a lifted 4Runner.
i love the song that was playing what was the name of it ?
Which one? There were two songs in this video.
the first one
We just don't have stuff like this in texas :(
Can you put another link up for the full map, that link isn’t working for me
Hmm. I just tried the link and it works fine. You can also join the Ozark Overland Adventure Trail Facebook group and it's in the files section there as well.
Part 2 part 2!! 😂
Loki’s RC Life coming soon.
I would use medium grade gas. You will get better gas mileage.
I may try that. I've just always used Regular.
Do you think a 2012 grand Cherokee with a 2 inch lift and 33s could handle these tracks?
Yes. You should be fine except for the first part of Day 4.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures you think it could handle the water crossings? I don’t have a snorkel Unfortunately.
@@philbobaggins2183 just watch the weather. As long as it hasn’t rained a bunch before your trip you should be ok. Don’t be worried about turning around if it’s too high. That’s part of the adventure.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures good information. Thank you! And keep up the incredible footage!
@@philbobaggins2183 I’ll do my best!!! Have fun.
What do you run as tire pressure on these trails?
15psi
How can i open this map on my iphone?
Is this doable in a Can Am Maverick X3?
Not all at once. Too many roads not suitable for SxS.
Do you have this route on GAIA that you can share?
It’s in the video description
How much of this can be done on two wheels?
Ozark ADV depending on how deep the water crossings are I would say all of it.
The map doesn't work anymore, any idea why?
I updated the link from Gaia to a GPX file. That should help.
For some reason I cannot access the trip file in the link..
Eat Westy try again. Gaia keeps changing it back to private.
How do we access the full route. States we don't have permission.
The link should be working now.
Nothing like Hearing the vehicles off road I felt like I went to a concert In stead
How to find this trail on giaia GPS?
Link is in the video description.
