bro this is the exact year i’m looking at getting she’s used and has around 500 miles on the odo and i’m thinking about taking the harley classes to possibly, maybe bypass the driving test but this would be my first as well i live in cali too
Ive had my Iron 883 for 7 months now. Love the looks, the sound, and the ease of parking in a tight spot. I don’t love the freeway riding but for commuting, its perfect. I will eventually get a bigger bike for longer rides but no complaints other than the 5 speed and shorter gears.
It looks like it has ODI/Hartluck grips. The Iron 883 is geared lower than the 1200 as to keep the low end torque. They "sound" like they are screaming but the reality is most Sportsters don't pull until after 3500RPM, so ripping on a highway keeps you in a decent power range.
I almost went with a 883 as my first bike, but decided to go with a 2011 48 sportster xl1200x and i dont regret it, i upgraded the gas tank from the peanut tank to a 4.2 gallon one and i love it more. The 1200 is also a good first bike, its all about respecting the bike and riding your own ride. Now im looking to get a 114 fatboy or 117 lowrider s or st.
I just don't see the point in buying an 883. The 1200 is the same size and weight.
They say its a girls bike, i totally agree my 883 is blacked out and attracts all the ladies, love it🤩
I absolutely love my 2021 883. Use it to commute to work( round trip 16m) and it’s awesome. Will convert to HAMMER PERFORMANCE 1275 in the future.
