    I saw the reviews for this movie, and they weren't that great, but I saw it anyways because I love Charlie Hunnam and Rami Malek.
    I was BLOWN AWAY by this movie!!!! It was incredibly and I cannot understand why almost half the critics gave this movie rotten scores.
    The performances are top notch, the cinematography is great, the story is gripping and tense all throughout, The pacing is excellent (for the most part), and the characters are wonderful! The only issues this movie has are the pacing of the first ten minutes (really fast) and the ending leaves some answers concluded.
    They do not make movies like this anymore. 10/10! You should go see this movie.

From sadness to anger to happiness, this movie got all emotions going on!!! Charlie Hunnam is such a talented actor. Rami Malek too for sure! He portrayed Louis Degars so incredibly!

    I remember watching this film during the beginning of the pandemic and it’s rhaubky one of the better and favorite films I’ve watched over the past two years especially now that I think about it.
    I know there was the original that I should probably see and many criticize it for not being better, but if this film was an original, I feel many would love it more.
    The acting and characters were so strong and the story’s tension and psychological drama was one of the best I’ve seen in a film.
    Charlie Hunman is an underrated actor as well and been impressed in arguably all the films I’ve seen him in.

      I'm not a fan of digital that looks digital. There's plenty of films and shows shot "digitally" that still have character. Moonlight, Arrival, and even Donald Glover's Atlanta rivals some great 35mm looks. In a period piece like this digital sticks out like a sore thumb and pulls you out of the story.

    They're remaking "Papillon"? Hollywood is seriously out of ideas but on the other hand I can assure you that most of the audience have never even heard of the first one or seen it.

    • @supermariozombies4824

      @fuzzyscarfandmittens4772 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +SuperMarioZombies
      That is without a doubt one of the weakest arguments ever. You're saying that because these people under 40, of which I happen to be one by the way, have never bothered to see a movie made before they were born that suddenly gives filmmakers the right to remake it?
      Your attitude is like so many young people I know in that if it came out before they were born it's not worth watching. That is such a sad state of affairs.

    • @supermariozombies4824
      @supermariozombies4824 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's called a calculated business decision you half wit. They are marketing the movie to a movie goer base that has never seen or heard of the movie and couldn't not care less to see it. So old its new. Savvy?

    • @fuzzyscarfandmittens4772
      @fuzzyscarfandmittens4772 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +SuperMarioZombies But that doesn't work with what you originally said. First it's because young folk haven't seen it and now it's a "calculated business decision". Besides, it's not like you know anything about business in the first place.
      Also who you calling a half-wit when you yourself mangle the English language? "couldn't not care less"? The not is superfluous and actually changes the meaning of your sentence. It's like saying "could care less" which means that you need to care a bit already but if you wanted to you could care less. The term is "couldn't care less" you mouth breather.
      And I'm not wasting any more time on a moron who messes up his own points and then mangles the very language he's writing in. Respond if you want, I'm done with idiots like you.

    Alot of people were saying this shouldn't have been remade. That McQueen and Hoffman did a excellent job and we didn't need to see it again. I don't doubt they did. But Hunnam and Malik played phenomenal parts in the remake. I watched it a couple days ago I would definitely suggest it to people that enjoyed the first one and fans of Hunnam and Malik

    • @jbcola74
      @jbcola74 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      5007Finest in this case, the original was shot on 35mm, having a higher resolution than many digital movies. And remarkes today are often way too political correct, so they can be shown all the unfree countries in the world. But just look at the imdb rating of this one... says enough....

    • @VVIIFINEST
      @VVIIFINEST 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      jbcola74 yeah can get what you mean with politically correct bs, also didn't realise the original was shot like that. Just saying sometimes remakes can turn out well. Like don't get me wrong, love older styled movies and how some are made but then you have some netflix or newer HBO movies last few years been made really well and different.
      Also interested see new Gotti movie even though original was quite good. 😊
