Wow what a difference. I'm going to try this on mine, however, with the engine intact, as long as one is careful and covers certain electronics and connectors I see no harm.

Oh forgot to mention. Got to sit in and check out a C8 the other day. Had to buy my wife a new car after some teenager turned left in front of her. So at the dealer the just got one in that an older gentleman had order. Sadly the old guy never got to see his car as he passed away while waiting on the list. The guys son is getting the car. Has a little plaque that the car was built specifically for the old guy. Just kinda cool.
That’s sad. Glad the son is getting it at least.
BTW great ending. Pipes sound fabulous. Will that be the new signature ending of your videos now on!

Aluminum bright is great but you have to use detergent to neutralize the brighter or in 6mounths you start seeing a aluminum powder .
Great video! I have a 1987 Trans Am GTA with the 5.7TPI that needs a little love.
Is it really necessary to take all these parts off the engine for a cleanup?
If you need to clean but don’t want to remove the intake could you use the brightener on the parts and thoroughly rinse?
chris, would suggest to clean iac valve while you have off cleaning intake .

I noticed you brushed the TB but not the Plenum and Runners. Were you worried the brush would do something to the finish? Would you ever consider Scotch Brite for this job as an alternative? I need to do mine this Spring and thinking of cleaning it in place on the car.

Thanks for the video...I've got a C4 with an L98 and I'd like to clean my intake runners and plenum too. Does the aluminum brightener etch the aluminum?
To an extent. Don’t use it on any polished parts.

I don’t know exactly but it’s the same as mine. It has the sensor on the bottom. And the vacuum ports on the back.

how long do you let the brightener solution soak on the parts before rinsing?
About 20-30 seconds.

How come you didn't put a bottom intake gasket on?
I didn’t remove the lower intake. And based on the condition of the other gaskets, they look fairly new.
My C4 the back gasket came out I would have loved to see that part. But what you did looks 👍🏾nosale 🙏🏾

How To Clean C4 Intake Manifold, replace with a polished superram.
Now replace the iac, tps, and mat sensor that you just ruined by spraying them with water and chemicals.
Funny, they all still work....

Never use Aluminum Brightener, you will darken & ruin your parts!!!!
