Least we forget about The Captioned ABC News that ran from 1973 until 1982 on PBS and co-produced by PBS member station WGBH Boston who provided the open captions and their own information drop in during the breaks. Also World News Tonight was meant to be a global concept, now its just a brand.
Maybe I could be wrong, but I anticipate for ABC World News Tonight to update its title-card/graphics soon to fit more ABC's recent Network rebrand. Currently, they've modified the ABC logo so far.
Hopefully the Special Report graphics too. I’m not very fond of the current Special Report countdown and intro. IMO they’d look much better if they matched the World News graphics as in previous iterations.
In my opinion, they should update both world news tonight and the ABC news live graphics given there pretty much the only programs on the network that have used 3D visuals for years at this point and are due for better graphics. So far they’ve only updated the logo and that’s about it

I never understood why ABC changed their iconic theme for a few years in the 2010s. It's an iconic theme, and I'm glad they brought it back. Also my favorite intros were in the mid-2000s with Charles Gibson. I like the graphics and color package then.
Peter Jennings died around the same time The Weather Channel was getting a new logo; thus putting to an end two things that ruled the '80s and '90s; Peter's reign at ABC News and the uppercase Weather Channel logo.
In a little over a month, five REDISCOVERED episodes of “John Daly And The News” have been posted here on TH-cam. The episodes are from 1952, 1953, 1955, 1956, and 1957. The intros have some differences from year to year. You will want to add them to your video compilation.
It’s actually kind of interesting to see the 2000 intro for the Bush v Gore campaign season pre-9/11, I tend to relate that theme and graphics package (which lasted from 2000-09) so much with 9/11 and the Afghanistan and Iraq Wars.
@@JasonDelarosa2000 the graphics motif changed totally after Gibson along with the direction of the show, they might as well have just dropped the theme then… Not necessarily blaming Diane either, Charlie said that ABC management’s pushing the show in a less hard news direction is a main reason he quit

Who is the voiceover announcer that they dropped in 2009? Sounds like it may have been the same guy going all the way back to 1984, which is quite the impressive run, but I can’t find any info on who it is.

Until Gibson and 2008 ABC News was respected and decent (since the mid 1970’s). Then Diane Sawyer came and destroyed it! 🤯😰🫣🫠 (TBF Katie Couric did almost the same to CBS). I got a degree in Journalism/Communications. I could also see information changing as I was in college. It hasn’t been the same since, much more tabloid and opinion over facts and actuality.

It wouldn't surprise me because the current graphics package has been used since late 2015 just after David Muir took over the Anchor Chair

The 2000-2003 logo was the one I vividly remember the most. It was cool to know when and how long that iconic theme was used and was brought back.

The Hungarian TV2 Tenyek 2002-2005 intro was absolutely the same as ABC's 2000-2003 one.
