    It’s mental alchemy, not physical alchemy. The ability to change one’s thoughts and therefore, perspectives and how one can alter one’s outcome Hot and cold are the same energies, only differentiated by a gradient scale. Meaning, where does hot become cold and vice versa. The transmutation of thoughts is the alchemy in Hermeticism, via The Kybalion.
    “To destroy an undesirable rate of mental vibration, put into operation the Principle of Polarity and concentrate upon the opposite pole to that which you desire to suppress. Kill out the undesirable by changing its polarity.” - The Kybalion

      What would be the place to get the authentic views? Not the Kybalion?

    • @Kid_Ikaris
      @Kid_Ikaris ปีที่แล้ว +20

      @@urethralbeads7771 I haven't read the Kybalion but from what I've heard quoted from it seems to have value. Just not dogmatic value. It should be viewed in part through the cultural lens of the time period it was written in (the turn of the century 1908).
      Go further back to the Hermetica written in the first, second, and third centuries of the common era. Especially the dialogue with Asclepius (found in the Hermetica which is a collection of works, much the same way the Bible or the Buddhist Cannon is). The translations however go back to the fifteenth centuries so keep in mind the influence of that age upon the text as well.
      Interestingly enough the legendary Book of Thoth the supposed original source this material has been based on has been found in Egypt in the form of bits of Papyrus. In 2005 a book was published by Johns Hopkins University that reconstructed what could be found from bits of Papyrus in museums around the world. It seems a hard book to get a copy of but presumably there is one at the University.
      There is a city in Egypt called Hermopolis (ancient Egyptian Ashmunin) where these texts were likely written.
      So yeah the Kybalion seems worthy of study to myself from what little I know about it. Study the Hermetica, sometimes called the Hermetic Corpus to get closer to the original. And join the exciting world of Hermetic Philosophy as it continues to be revealed through discovery of old texts and its application in our daily lives.
      Lastly there's an interesting project in Egypt called New Hermopolis where a sanctuary for Hermetic Philosophy and the healing arts has been built.
      I would recommend going there sometime. There is a celebration of the Festival of Thoth that goes on towards the end of October. Not sure if the dates for 2023 have been announced yet (they literally use the ancient Egyptian moon calendar, so the dates shift in relation to ours) but I'm trying my best to go this year. Perhaps I will see you there : )

    They don't say opposites don't exist,they say opposites are the extremes on a spectrum and thus are connected.
    They also never said we are 'thoughts'. The universe is mental, yes, but that's not the same.

    • @BeforeThisNovember
      @BeforeThisNovember 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      If that’s not the same, then does that mean we manifest the physical from thoughts?

    • @arniedee7251
      @arniedee7251 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@BeforeThisNovember that is a part of it, I think. If you read or listen to The Kybalion, by 3 initiates, which I have now for about 40+ times, it's still difficult to actually grasp that principle fully.
      'The universe is mental', is derived from a set of axioms and thought exercises, if you can call them that. "Therefore the universe is mental".
      It's a great listen/read, very interesting, thought provoking and wise. I listen to it probably twice a month.

      @@BeforeThisNovemberYou/we partly do, but certain circumstances is not in your controll.
      So the answer is yes and no, depending from which perspective you are asking.
      For exemple your house, phone, companies etc all 1st started with an idea, a thought. Which first took place in the mind, then manifested physically.
      It starts in the mind.
      But like I said, it depends from which perspective you are asking, under what circumstance.

    Speak truth to power, always challenge your ideas. We often fall into pre conceived notions about the nature of reality and take offense to the idea that we are wrong. Share your ideas openly and freely with no fear, to all the masses that will listen. Consider all aspects and perspectives of the Great Interconnectedness. No one Individual Knows the full Truth. Approach new schools of thought with skepticism, while you consider how new information fits into your philosophy. From all is one and one is all, only together can the truth be realized

      He does a bad job of explaining the princples. Hot and cold are but a degree of the same thing which is tempature. Where exactly does hot turn to cold and where exactly does cold turn to hot. It is your will that decides the answer to those question. Love and hate is another example. If we can will ourselves to change the degree then we can find ways to turn hateful thoughrs into thoughts of love. This law is applied and in so many ways and is a fun one to think about.
