Russell definitely got screwed out of Samoa. I honestly cant say he deserved to win Heroes v Villians because as much as I hate to say it, Parvati outplayed him in the latter stages. For me he is the greatest ever because he played how we wish we could play the game but would never have the balls or presence of mind to do so.

I hate how people think that Natalie and Sandra knew that the jury was going to vote them because they hated Russell. They were not that confident, they did not have a good game stratigy, they just got lucky. The jury made a mistake NOT Russell, I am really tired of hearing people say that he had a flaw in his game. parvati was gone without russell. how can you judge how great rob and parv are b/c of their targets on their back, when Ruseell saved one, and eliminated the other. Also the targets on robs back were'nt there in HvV.
Im a HUGE fan Russel and how he plays the game, hes extremely aggressive with every move, his problem is burning bridges along the way, If he takes a year off, watches every season, and realised his strategy wont work to win the million. He should come back in a few season with a new understanding. But by then everyone will know who he is and vote him off emediatly

Had he given a more convincing argument at tribal council, I still think he could have swayed the jury in his favour.
the great thing about survivor is that you first work with people, than work to eliminate them, then hope they vote for you to win, it's the best part of the game and you have to make sure you get those votes

Russell has the best strategic game of any survivor contestant out there. His only problem is that he has a poor social game and he gets rid of people with blatant disregard for their vote in the end. He has yet to master the strategy of voting someone off and expecting them to vote for him in the end. Yes, you can admit that he outwitted, outplayed, and outlasted you, but his social game only encompasses his alliance and no one else. The best social game player to win IMO is Parvarti
@Rhapthorne3 I think if Russell comes back to another Allstar game, and somehow, makes it to the end with everyone hating him from the git go...they would be foolish not to give it to him. I don't know if he can do that, but it wouldn't surprise me if he did. He's THAT good.
Natalie's strategy if you could cal it a strategy, was mostly just her getting very lucky with her avoiding attention and a season where the jury was unbelievably emotionally attached to the game. She won though so she gets the credit. However, Russell strategy is one where he was able to assure himself a high probability of reaching the final two, but could only be effective if the jury would appreciate the control he had over them versus resenting that control.
I wish Hantz would just clue in already. The social game is not the most important aspect of Survivor, but if you have no social game whatsoever, you do not deserve to win. Where Natalie had a great social game and an underrated strategic game, Russell had a miserable social game and a very good strategic game. If you mark it on points, Natalie really did have the better game. I respect both, but I do feel the right person won. I think Russell (and all of you) will figure that out some day.
In Survivor Redemption Island, you are going to see how good of a player Russell really is. The other players know all about him now. Russell won't have the same advantage that he did on Heroes vs Villains.
Actually, it strengthens the credibility of the game. Someone can "dominate" their way to the end, be it through challenges, strategy or copious hidden immunity idols, but if they can't get the necessary votes to win, their domination is worthless. Boston Rob proved that in All-Stars. Russell proved it again.
PART of "playing the best" MEANS that you have to win over the jury. he doesn't understand that 50% is getting to the end and 50% is getting jury votes. if you can pull that off then you completed the goals of Survivor and deserve it no matter what. there's no rule book that states the most aggressive strategy is always win-worthy
I'm not surprised that up to now, he still just doesn't get it. With his style of gameplay, Russell will always be anyone's ticket to the million bucks. If anyone left in the game WANTS to be with you in the Finals, then you've got a big problem.
So he already had a feeling he wouldn't win before the live Dec. 16 show. That backs up my theory that he was also realizing that he would not win 'Villains' either, because it had already finished taping up to the 39th day, and he made enemies out of all the jurors even worse in the second season.

No, it's a perfectly just way of determining the winner. You're trying to figure out how to get the jury either on your side or against the other person. Natalie achieved both objectives. Russell failed both. That makes her the better player.

In my opinion, Parvati should have won HV, Russell should have won Samoa, and Boston Rob should have won All Stars. I wish they would go back to having only 2 finalists though, the game is a lot more purer that way.

If the survivor producers want people to be more aggressive on the show, go back to a F2. If they want to see passive coat tail riders win the game, leave it at a F3.

With regards to "respect the game," the jury should be able to respect the person first enough for them to do that.

Russell is still crying over Natalie. He's closed minded and if something doesn't go his way he thinks it isn't fair.

i love how russle incinuates that heroes vs villans was rigged at the reunion show lol..he didnt outright say it but it was very clear thats what he ment.the only reason Russle lost was because the jury was too sour over the way he played the game and the fact they couldnt vote him off that the only way to get back at him was to screw him out of the money an title of sole survivor

@n69dles Well, guess what? Five of the jurors paid their dues across the bench, so they know how the voting process works. Russell is just clueless when it come to the endgame. Both Natalie and Sandra knew what made the jury tick, hence, they got the votes. Not to mention, they both knew he was perfect jury fodder.
With regards to "respect the game," the jury should be able to respect the person first enough for them to do that.

You are all totaly right about russel is one of the best players there is. still boston rob is my favourite and i have to admit russel did a great job. on the other hand there where just a bunch of knuckle heads on the big all star heroes vs villains survivor what cost boston rob the game like tyson and coach. but still russel is a great player. the only thing i dont like about russel is his big mouth. I know hes good he knows hes good we all know hes good but dont say it over and over again.

@rangiri Rob didn't treat the other people he was playing with like an ass and he didn't act like a sore loser when he lost. Rob realizes that Amber played the game well and deserved the win. That's the difference between somebody like Rob and Richard Hatch and Russell - had Hatch lost to Kelly, he'd have turned to her and congratulated her on a well-played game. Russell is still crying over Natalie. He's closed minded and if something doesn't go his way he thinks it isn't fair.
@IAmTheBest35 well the object of the game is to get the most votes. Natalie got more than russell, therefore she played the best game.

@jonhaueter Looks like someone else here doesn't understand Survivor. The jury has been around since the very first season. They are there for one reason and one reason only: to pass judgement upon you. Treat them well, as Natalie and Sandra did, and their votes will be there for you. Treat them like shit, as Russell did, and they're going to take it out on you. Bottom line, the flaw was in Russell's game. Russell made the mistake. Deal with it.

@jpad319 SHe alligned with him because she didn´t have the power to compete with him. She didn´t go with him because he was easy to beat. Thats what Coattail riders do. They pick the strongest player because they are not smart enough to make that kind of plans on their own.
