People need to consider; an Olympic opening ceremony would be worked on for many months and reviewed by committees and politicians, to ensure it shows the country in the best possible light. These terrible scenes were approved at all levels. That is the depth of the wokist problem in Europe.
Olympic opening ceremony was an obvious punch at everyone who practices the Christian faith, and I'd be interested to know what group of people saw this being planned and checked it off as acceptable. How embarrassing for France, I was under the impression that Paris was a place of class and culture, but apparently, I was wrong.

@@macdonaldmaurice I'm actually a pretty tolerant person. I have friends that are of different religions or no religion at all. I am close to people who absolutely detest the Christian faith. But you know what? Those people still have the decency never to mock anyone's beliefs despite what they themselves believe. That's called tolerance and respect.

Telling me to 'try not to be so intolerant' to other people's religions or lack thereof while literally having just read me explaining that my particular religion is being obviously mocked in front of the entire world during a sports event that has NOTHING to do with religion is absolutely wild....and if I daresay...a little intolerant of you. And if the olympics wants to lose around 2.5 billion (give or take) people's views than they're doing a wonderful job, because a lot of people did shut their eyes and completely walk away to boycott the event entirely.
But you know who suffers the most? The athletes who worked damned hard to get there. And if you are watching for the sports, you should probably care about that to an extent. I respect every person no matter our differences. Hell, I even respect you even though you clearly don't respect me or my faith.
And that is the very least we can do for one another as human beings, is accept our differences and respect one another. That treatment should not be only for some and nit-picked for others; it applies to everyone.
So where is he ridiculing of middle eastern religions? You won't see it. Asian? Nope, it doesn't happen. Here's a question, what does religion even have to do with sports? Why was it even considered an acceptable theme to begin with? Why not show off some Parisian food or art?
And historically, that's what opening ceremonies have been in the past, a way to show off culture and beauty of the region hosting the olympics. If this is what Paris has to offer...open ridicule of religion and some dude's dangly bits hanging out of cheap fabric...well...oof. I know some children were watching the opening ceremony that night, not an easy time to be a parent that's for sure.
I get that we're very much at an impasse here, and that's fine. We're just two strangers on the internet after all. But I do hope you try and remember that there are people from all walks of life in this world. In my view it completely ruined the fine tradition of athletes of each country parading in the Olympic Stadion with banners, without the need to express a certain political agenda.
