I had a kapampa the water was a bit cold or at least that's what the thermometer said. I set the heater and went to work. By the time I got home the kapampa was belly up and so other fish. I lowered the heater and a few made it. I then got rid of all the mbuna and other types. Just 1 month ago I set my aquarium up and got mbunas, peacock, and haps, so far so good and the thermometer is way off. Heater is set at 73 degrees heater does not even read 64 so got a new thermometer and the water sits at 82 degrees. Now I'm trying to get a 240 gallon tank and make it lake tangayika only and mostly frontosa fish. Love those fish
I'm new to aquariums, but I think I have a Kigoma but I'm not sure. It's got 7 stripes but there's no hump. It's also brown/tanish color with dark stripes...no visible blue. Currently about 3 inches long.
Great video my man, please tell me what is a good lighting system for fronts? I looked into the radion rx30, but I dont have that kind of cash. love them when the whites are sharp and the blues are electric. Most videos I see have so much blue that it washes out the white and the fronts dont look good.
Really cant say...I would go with a good Led light...some choose Beamswork because they are cheap but I'm not sure. I know Aqueon has the optibright..I'm thinking about trying one of those. May do a review in the near future.
good video! I've been looking into buying a colony of gibberosa, not really anything solid as far as a place to buy. do you have any info on a store , or a connection on getting wild caught. thanx in advance...
Where do you buy your wild caught frontosa? Big fan of the moba i have 3 already plus a few other strains. Im looking for a good place to but some wild caught.
Great video, have a question for you. what do you keep your PH at in your frontosa tank. and do you do something to bring it up? Mine is at 7.8 and thats with crushed coral bottom.
Good question,to me it seems like 7.8 range(mines is there too) is tough to get past. I would say limestone holey rock besides crushed coral could possibly help...I have also used lace rock in the past.
you seem like you know your s@## ....got 2 questions...good place to find the more exotic fronts... mobas or kapampa's...is there a big difference in the coloration...thanks
I have 2 dolphin fish there little couple of alunacara fish looking at gettin a electric jack Dempsey on Thursday if i they have any of these fish would they be ok together in same tank?
@@stevenmills1820 Cant say personality can be difficult to determine until they're all together. Watch one of my older introducing new fish videos...so you can at least guage it and do it right. th-cam.com/video/uA7FDmoIXjE/w-d-xo.html
I would Google that..I'm sure it's a collection point along this river just not sure where. If you find the small town along the river that's where their claiming the fish is from. Thanks!
do you have facebook,I keep and breed frontosa Me like to obtain more knowledge and bring some new blood to my fronts, thanks for the. vid it's very informational
James Jones you're welcome and no I operate here and on Instagram. Feel free to share this video to Facebook. Subscribe & Check out my latest videos,I just had fry as well.
telcom6661 Not sure, but for me and the people I know its just the excitement of bringing a new generation of F1 fry to the areas we live if they breed. Also WC personality is different than tank raised.
I have only three months with the mobas an guy from Craigslist in my area CA he was collecting the frontosas but for some reason he lost the connection and he forgot the frontosas the frontosas was in really bad condition blinds and very skinny and very unhealthy and only paid the 10% of the market value
Wtf ... I thought I was going to learn something from this video .The only thing I learned was this guy was lazy to explain anything. What was the point of making this video? No wonder he has no subs.
Best Frontosa ID video I have ever seen in 40 years of fishkeeping. Subscribed.
Thank you sir! I am honored..

Google a site called "Cichlidsandherps"

No prob, thanks for dropping by!
Do you know the differences between male and female (in general)? Thanks for the video identifying the types.
If you google it you can see a picture. Best way to tell is venting as they get older.
I learned a lot from that vid.
Thank you,Im glad. Give it a thumbs up if you enjoyed it.
great video,im tryng to breed moba
Are wild caught have better Coloration than captive bred?
Is the burundi have the biggest bump on there head then the other types?
Normally from my experiences..Yes
you seem like you know your s@## ....got 2 questions...good place to find the more exotic fronts... mobas or kapampa's...is there a big difference in the coloration...thanks
I agree
can you mix different types of frontosa ?
Subbed, I have 6 moliro
Are these nice friendly fish to keep?or are they bullies?
They seem to be ok with opposite types of africans. When you keep a colony is when you may have dominance issues with males competing for females.
I have 2 dolphin fish there little couple of alunacara fish looking at gettin a electric jack Dempsey on Thursday if i they have any of these fish would they be ok together in same tank?

Which one is the most pretty
Zaires in my opinion because of deeper blue...But everyone's opinion is different.

Mpimbwe frontosa in my opinion tho
to each his own...I like darker colors, thats just me and the hobby over all I guess. They demand greater prices..
what's the obsession with the WC?
telcom6661 Not sure, but for me and the people I know its just the excitement of bringing a new generation of F1 fry to the areas we live if they breed. Also WC personality is different than tank raised.
Frontosa4life they aren't as shy
can you mix them in tank?
I wouldnt as a breeder because they would cross breed. And we supply PURE strands.
