I completely agree. This has bothered me for quite some time. The way I was raised, Holy Communion was received on the tongue, on your knees and only by a priest. I served Mass as a child and I remember holding the paten and preventing the host from ever hitting the floor. What has happened? May the Lord prevail here.
If we truly believe Who is present in the Holy Eucharist, we should be receiving Him on our knees, along with all the praise and adoration that He deserves from us His creatures. Love listening, Father. God bless and pray for us.
Eight years ago the priest at my previous parish in another city publicly reprimanded me for receiving communion on my knees. I stopped doing so in obedience to a superior. Unfortunately that somewhat scarred me and I have not had the courage to kneel at my new parish. However, I do bow, I receive in the tongue, and I try to receive directly from the priest and not the Eucharistic ministers as often as possible. It saddens me when our priests do not revere the Eucharist as they should. My response has been to add my own prayer in between the rosary decades following the Fatima prayer. Here's what I pray in between my decades: oh my Jesus forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of Hell. Lead all souls to Heaven especially those in most need of thy mercy. Have pity on the souls in Purgatory, especially the most abandoned and may the Holy Catholic Church once again learn to revere the Eucharist".
Fr. Goring, I agree with you 100%. There is an external lack of reverence for Jesus in the Eucharist in many cases. Kneeling at the altar rails and receiving on the tongue will definitely help the parishioners to remember Whom we are receiving, our Lord Jesus Christ. I agree that it is too casual now in the manner of standing and receiving on the hand and also more risk of abuse of the Communion Host. Someone once found a host in the middle of a choir book in our Church years ago and another time on a table. We must do something to bring back reverence to our Lord Jesus Christ...
Amen Father, at my little polish parish we had communion rails. In the late 70's they were taken down. It has been at least 3 years now since our communion rails have been re-installed and to me the church look's like the way it was intended for worship. It's funny to see visitor's come and don't know how to receive at the rail. I agree 100% the communion rail must come back in all parishes. God Bless.
Baby catholic (1 yr) here, always kneel, and one of only two people in my church who so. Was very daunting at first, and humbling, like i am reducing myself to be like a helpless child. Pride-bruising. Which is why i know it is the right position for me to take.
Thank you Fr. Mark, I'm a Traditional Latin Catholic and it is so edifying how in the Mass when we kneel and receive on the tongue gives such visible honor and respect to our Blessed Lord and Saviour in the Blessed Sacrament .
Surely I will like that this to be effective and more so that priest celebrate Mass every day I live in Trinidad my parish is St John Baptist in San Juan we have 2 residing priest and yet we do not have mass daily or confession May be this is why our church congregation is decreasing and the many changes that is taking place
Well said, Father! Go to any traditional latin Mass, and you will also see that everyone understands that Communion is holy, holy, holy. We ALL receive kneeling on the tongue. An altar server always holds the communion plate under our chin, to collect any fragments which might fall.
Thank you Fr Mark 😍🙏📿🙋, YES, YES, YES! !! I believe, I adore, I hope, and I love thee Lord, , I beg pardon for those, who DO NOT, Adore, Believe, Hope, or Love thee 🙏.

I love tradition it has totally changed me, I love the Latin mass. And I thank our blessed lord for the many graces he has given me to see the truth.
Father Goring you absolutely said what I have been feeling for quite a while now. I want the rails brought back and to kneel to receive the Body & Blood of our Lord on my tongue in Communion. I also agree there should be no Eucharistic ministers but that we should only receive the Eucharist from a holy Priest.
I grew up in a household not knowing God existed till my parents went back to church when i was 12.I was taught the fire and brinestone way instead of a loving and merciful God.It took me till i was 54 that i was healed from my internal injures due to the way i was raised in my faith. In the past i only received holy communion on the tongue because of the way i was taught. Now i receive Jesus on my hand.I have realized that its not important what method we receive Jesus but whats in our heart. To receive Jesus, for Him wanting to be with us, is so awesome and special which i treasure everytime.
Father Mark, the churches in the Ordinariate have communion rails and only the priests and deacons are allowed to distribute communion. We receive by intincture on the tongue. God bless you for always standing for the truth. Prayers for your safety.
Completely agree with all you said Father and appreciate your vision and courage to say it. I'm a 70 year old American cradle Catholic. Looking back on the changes in the Mass after Vatican II, even in my younger years, something just didn't seem quite right or ok, with the Tabernacle moved to a corner (if He walked in the back door, would they really give Him a chair in a corner?), the choir moved to the front, permissive chattering going on before and after Holy Mass, the casual attire, and worst of all, emphasis on the Holy Mass as a meal rather than a Sacrifice. All this was explained to me once in summary that the hierarchy felt this best for the folks in the pews, who were too simple to understand - for example - the Consecration being performed right in front of the Tabernacle (ie: making someone present who was already there). Really!!! Don't they get it? We are smart enough to know that the Holy Mass is a MYSTERY and we're smart enough not to over-think it, but rather to marvel in it and give praise and thanksgiving to Our Lord Jesus Christ and to our Heavenly Father.
Fr. Goring, you are so right. Thank you for speaking the truth. I attend a Traditional Latin Mass and I love the reverence and respect given to the Lord. I love to recieve Him on the tongue as I kneel before my God and King.
I agree with you Kim Chi Tran... The Tabernacle (contains Jesus) is the reflection of the Ark of the Covenant in the Old Testament and in the New Covenant it represents Mary (contains Jesus). Now on Calvary Mary never left Jesus side and so during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass the Tabernacle (which represents Mary) should be there!

Didn’t you read John chapter 6? Where Our Lord Jesus says unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood you will have no life! Many people left after this, but Our Lord didn’t say come back this is only a symbol. He turned to his apostles and said will you leave me also? And what did Peter say Lord where shall we go you have the everlasting life! As for the blessed Mother. She is Virgin and also she is not our choice but God Almighty’s choice. By bad mouthing her you disrespect God himself. Oh by the way we can trace our Catholic faith all the way up to Peter. Protestants came only for the last 500 years! If some priests are bad and betrayed the church and Our Lord didn’t Judas do the same thing? Are you telling me all the Protestants preachers are squeaky clean? Whenever there are humans there will be sin. We will not throw the baby with the bath water. Be at peace. God has everything under His Will. Everything will come to light.
God had humble himself down to earth to save us sinners. Now, it is our turn to give Him honor, praise and worship that God deserves. We have to bow in the presence of God.
Absolutely, we need to out the reverence back in mass. In our diocese no one is on bended knee, they stand. Cant do it, I still kneel after Lamb of God, and after recieving Holy Communion they stand. This has been few decades change, a change that should have never happened. Bended knee, reverence.
I'm the only one in my church who kneels for both the host and the chalice. One of the priests, who retired yesterday, seemed put off by my action, but I still continue to do so. I don't state this as an "atta boy" for me, but I always remember what archbishop Fulton Sheen said in one of his talks-"If we really believe that Jesus is present in the Eucharist, we would be crawling on our hands and knees down the aisle to receive Him". Vivo Cristo Rey

Here in the Netherlands receiving the Eucharist is in the hands also and for a lot of people it became just a symbol. We need new teachings and back to the Sacrament.
I am a protestant convert since 2009. I grew up reading the scriptures. Read Hebrews 12:18 to better understand who you are coming to when you receive communion. Since long ago I desired to receive communion on my knees but my fear of disrupting kept me back. I prayed to Our Lady to intercede and grant me the grace to defy my herd instinct. Now I receive communion on my knees. Hebrews 12:18 18You have not come to a physical mountain to a place of flaming fire, darkness, gloom, and whirlwind, as the Israelites did at Mount Sinai. 19For they heard an awesome trumpet blast and a voice so terrible that they begged God to stop speaking. 20They staggered back under God’s command: “If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned to death.” 21Moses himself was so frightened at the sight that he said, “I am terrified and trembling.” 22No, you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to countless thousands of angels in a joyful gathering. 23You have come to the assembly of God’s firstborn children, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God himself, who is the judge over all things. You have come to the spirits of the righteous ones in heaven who have now been made perfect. 24You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of forgiveness instead of crying out for vengeance like the blood of Abel. 25Be careful that you do not refuse to listen to the One who is speaking. For if the people of Israel did not escape when they refused to listen to Moses, the earthly messenger, we will certainly not escape if we reject the One who speaks to us from heaven! 26When God spoke from Mount Sinai his voice shook the earth, but now he makes another promise: “Once again I will shake not only the earth but the heavens also.”k 27This means that all of creation will be shaken and removed, so that only unshakable things will remain. 28Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe. 29For our God is a devouring fire.
I am loving watching Fr. Goring's transformation into the best version of himself as he increasingly teaches more traditional and true dogmas/teachings/beliefs of Catholicism. This is such a breath of fresh air in this era of festering, marxist, modernism. God bless you, Fr. Goring!
I agree with you Fr. Mark. My parish just installed the rails. However, they are only permitted to be used during the Extraordinary Latin mass. Please pray for my parish that our Bishop will allow them to be used during all masses.
Thank you Father! Yes please bring back the Communion Rails! If we need to petition Rome for this to be universal practice, I am in! This is One, Holy, Catholic Church, one procedure is all we want. We want the Sacred traditions back. Also if our priest officiating at Holy Mass can make a short announcement either at start of Mass or before receiving Holy Communion that we need to be in full communion with the Catholic Church and in the state of Grace by going to Confession before receiving Holy Communion. People don't know this because for the past few decades our catholic faith has been watered down!
Amen Father!! I totally agree with you, there has to be more belief that the Eucharist is Jesus, not just a symbol. I’m in a wheelchair so I can’t genuflect, but I do make the sign of the cross. I’ve also never seen communion rails, but my parents used them when they were young. The problem is things have become too casual in society in general, with a lot of people having little respect for anything or anyone but themselves, and that attitude has come into the Church as well. Also, my church asks parishioners not to take communion by mouth during flu season. If only we could all go to an Eastern Catholic liturgy, it sounds beautiful and holy. “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive honour, glory and praise.” (Rev. 5:12) Your message today was inspiring. God bless you! Viva Cristo Rey!!
Yes yes yes, My son is championed this here in our Parish. He is being labeled a zealot and disregarded. He kneels and takes the Lord on his tongue. Even if we could start by not taking the Lord in our hands. We are in Nevada Father and part of the St. Joseph’s Battalion May God Bless you in a mighty way.
In our worldwide Catholic Church it has become LAX orandi, LAX credendi. 😢 It is a tragic laxity that translates to a diminished faith. Bring back the Communion rails and the TLM~!!
I've always missed the Communion rail from the Church of my youth since moving away from that town. It's also nearly impossible to genuflect or kneel! (Getting older.) I'm practicing at home. I so want to do that again!
Another thing to note is that the graces we open up to and receive are different based on our reverence towards the blessed sacrament. We are limiting the graces that our Divine Lord wants to give us through lack of reverence. Permitted does not equal best for your soul. If we can kneel before sacred art and statues then we can kneel before the living God who said that “As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God” Romans 14:11. When we do this (regardless of if an alter rail is present and most churches do not have them) when receiving our Lord it is scriptural and a beautiful testimony to the real living presence of God in the most Blessed Sacrament!!! I’m quite sure it makes our Mom happy too 😀. Thank you Father!

@@soniamartin2007 Luther did not start the practice of receiving by hand. Maybe it was some other Reformer. Lutherans actually started copying Catholics 40 or 50 years ago with hand reception. Some Lutherans still refuse to take Communion by hand. Some other Lutherans have even started copying Catholics by having a Lord's Supper assembly line vice kneeling at the chancel rail.
@Frank C Luther was a strange critter. The father of Protestantism was a heretical, disobedient, psychologically deranged Catholic priest.
Please bring back the Communion rails so I can enter into the fullness of Jesus Christ as the Provider of my salvation.
I agree with you 100% Father!! From your lips to the Vatican’s ears! Viva Christo Rey!
Yes please please them back!!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you! As a Christian I could not agree more strongly! I was taught to examine yourself before coming to the Lords Table. We must teach the blessing this is to our spiritual life!
Day by day you are healing my broken soul father mark. Jesus the Redeemer has sent you my way. regards from France.
Viva le France!
Brett Green thank you . we are the herd of Jesus wherever we are in this world. God bless you.
@@marsyl12 I attended Mass in the Chartres Cathedral in May. When my daughter and I entered through the doors I was moved to tears. All I could do was remove my shoes and tremble. God's presence is still mighty in France.
Brett Green wherever there is a person praying, God 's presence is mighty. la Cathédrale de Chartres est magnifique. Glad that your heart was touched. Heaven must be a thousand times more beautiful, doesn't it?
@@marsyl12 Yes Marsyl, Heaven will be extraordinary!
Yes father, I hope and pray our worship improves and doesn't fall into deeper error.. Please Mother Mary pray for it to be so.
You are SO Right, we have UNFORTUNATELY LOST THE SENSE OF THE SACRED !! Churches are now Community Centers where we Socialize before Mass. I miss the Respect, Silence and knowledge that we are on SACRED grounds.
Bringing back the Communion Rails is an important step.
God bless you!
Viva Cristo Rey 🙏💒🌈
#unitetheclans-all faithful Catholics must unite and demand a return to the tradition that for 1965 years witnessed the transformation of the world. Viva Cristo Rey
Athletes kneeling for ?
Father you are right! We kneel for the King! I'm a eucharistic minister and feel my hands tremble while I am offering our most scared host. Bring back the rails! Viva Cristo Rey!
I personally seek to maximize the feeling of SACRED.
Amen Fr. Mark! Right on target!
Please don’t ever stop your you tube work. What you do here is amazing and so helpful. Thank you for all your work.
Well said Father. Cardinal Arinze said “If you believe Christ is our God and that He’s present, why don’t you kneel, why don’t you crawl…”
👍🏻🙏🏼✌🏼
Absolutely! Thank you Father. Hope and pray for you and that this message reaches the Vatican!
God Bless you Father mark.
Thank you Fr Mark 😍🙏📿🙋, YES, YES, YES! !! I believe, I adore, I hope, and I love thee Lord, , I beg pardon for those, who DO NOT, Adore, Believe, Hope, or Love thee 🙏.
Amen Father! Back to our Beautiful Tradition!
You are a rose blossoming! 🌹. A joy to watch and learn from.😇
Hi Father, Thank you so much for saying what needed to be said. God bless you, Mary
My young pastor - we r his first - is bringing back the rail. He is wonderful: VERY Catholic, not “progressive”.....we are blessed to have him.
Father goring I am a traditional catholic and there should always be the altar rails were we kneel in adoration before receiving our lord in the blessed sacrament. I love tradition it has totally changed me, I love the Latin mass. And I thank our blessed lord for the many graces he has given me to see the truth.
Yes ,Please bring back the Rail.Thank you Fr.Goring, thank thank you.
I have seen it too.
100% with you father.
I am a convert to the eastern orthodox church...because I was seeking the most sacred liturgy and practice of worship I could find.
God bless you Fr Mark.
You are exactly right Father. The perception of Sacredness is gone for most - please bring it back
I would truly love to see kneeling for the eucharist brought back along with wearing a veil in church as a sign of reverence to our Lord.
Father, you are right, we should bring back the rails and the Tabernacle back to the center of the Church.
Absolutely true father! I have been praying for the communion rail to come back for a long long time!

Amen Father Mark
God had humble himself down to earth to save us sinners. Now, it is our turn to give Him honor, praise and worship that God deserves. We have to bow in the presence of God.
Yes God bless you Father for speaking the truth.
Absolutely, we need to out the reverence back in mass. In our diocese no one is on bended knee, they stand. Cant do it, I still kneel after Lamb of God, and after recieving Holy Communion they stand. This has been few decades change, a change that should have never happened. Bended knee, reverence.
I so agree with you. May we go back to the reverence.
Back to the reverence and away from the embarrassment, pain and shame.
I ROAM ALONE - amen brother!

Hebrews 12:18
18You have not come to a physical mountain to a place of flaming fire, darkness, gloom, and whirlwind, as the Israelites did at Mount Sinai. 19For they heard an awesome trumpet blast and a voice so terrible that they begged God to stop speaking. 20They staggered back under God’s command: “If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned to death.” 21Moses himself was so frightened at the sight that he said, “I am terrified and trembling.”
22No, you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to countless thousands of angels in a joyful gathering.
Goring!
Thank you Father....God bless you. Praise be Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior.
Mary Jordon Amen! So true!!
Always charitable and gentle, but speaking the truth. God bless you, Father.
YES!!! We want our Communion rails back!!!
YES, YES, YES to the communion rails. It’s a more reverent way to receive our Lord. Our actions should reflect our belief. Love ❤️ the Latin Mass!
You can say it again Father!🙏✝️💒
Yes-amen-yes-a thousand times I say it, yes!!! Thank you, Fr. Mark!!!
Yes Father bring back the rails like now the entire Church
Yes 100% agree, return the communion rails
God loves Father Goring
Spot on. This is why I support my local FSSP parish.
Yes,yes, yes!!! We need to kneel before OUR KING AND OUR GOD....
I've always missed the Communion rail from the Church of my youth since moving away from that town. It's also nearly impossible to genuflect or kneel! (Getting older.) I'm practicing at home. I so want to do that again!
Amen, Amen, Amen Father!!
Bring us back the communion rails for the Holy Holy Holy- the source and summit of our faith! I stand with you, Father
I prefer to receive Jesus Christ in my mouth.
That's a blessing receiving the Lord.
I am with you on this one Father, I go out of my way to go to a church where you kneel to accept it.
Amen Fr! God bless you! Please keep encouraging this practice!
Amen , let’s do it.Receive Jesus on your knees he is our God!!
