@@christophe5238 I read that Saint Augustine's mother was repetitively going to her priest and begging him to help with her son. Saint Augustine was drinking and gambling and chasing women. The priest finally told her that she needed to talk MORE to GOD about her son and less to her son about GOD. Well, there must be something to THAT bit of advice, because, Saint Augustine is not only a SAINT he is a doctor of the Catholic Church!!!! I gave each of my children to our Dear Lady, when they were born, a couple of them THOUGHT they were going to leave the church, when they were younger, but Our Lady had other plans!!! She is so very GOOD to us, how I love HER!!! PRAY, GOD BLESS!!

The first thing every morning, I read the Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church [CCC].
I love what I read the other morning about the definition of sin in CCC 1849: "Sin is an offense against reason, truth, and right conscience; it is a failure in genuine love for God and neighbor caused by a perverse attachment to certain goods." What a terrific definition; it brings such clarity. Catholics who don't study are missing such great spiritual treasures!
Catholicism rightly understood is not another religion based on one's culture or ancestry. It is THE way of eternal salvation. It is not to be toyed with or taken lightly.
Way to go. Keep us on fire, brother!

*_Thank you Father..My family here in Ireland have always had a deep faith & my teens do also. When my family did the great adventure Bible study our faith just blew up. The knowledge took us to another level of devotion to God. We have locally the Adoration chapel from 7am - 10pm with confession all day, Mass 3 times per day & adoration all day so people can drop in before or after work for Mass & some Adoration. It's great. So when i drifted from the rosary i noticed old habits slipping back into my life. When i went to confession last week i received as penance a rosary novena...[ our Priest doesnt mess about..lol ]..I am enjoying it so much & thank God for our Parish Priest & his devotion to the Blessed Sacrament..God Bless father_*

I’ve always believed Jesus is present in the Eucharist. I will always believe it. Jesus is at every mass. All day everyday. For the ones leaving the catholic faith, I pray for your return. Don’t make your own rules to life. Gods law is the law. Some say catholic faith is too hard, too strict. They go make their own laws. This is wrong. In the end, you will all see the truth. I pray you make it back before your end comes ❤️❤️❤️

      Paul Beduhn
We participate in the sacrament that Jesus instituted. Read John chapter 6. To deny Jesus's command is to deny eternal life that it brings. Jesus is a priest of the order of Melchizedek. Heb 5:6.
A priest offers sacrifice. Jesus is both priest and sacrifice, offering sacrifice daily. 1 Cor 11:23-26, Malachi 1:11.

    • @jamesjeson556
      @jamesjeson556 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Paul Beduhn
Which part do you not understand/believe? Of Jesus's own words. You too, with the disciples who left him do not believe him. We must eat his flesh for everlasting life. He told us his flesh is REAL food we are to eat.
Christ's sacrifice on the cross DID atone our sins. Opening the gate to heaven. But it doesn't PUT us there. HE SAID we need to feed on his eternal life.
You don't have a quarrel with me. I didn't say that. Jesus did.
Go ahead refuse his infinite gift of eternal life at your own peril.
David chapter 9 relates the time of the destruction of the temple and temple sacrifice. AD 70.

    • @jamesjeson556
      @jamesjeson556 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Paul Beduhn
Do you take the Bible literally or figuratively?
No six days of creation, no Flood of Noah, not a literal devil, not a literal hell, not a literal death on the cross, not a literal Resurrection.
What criterion do you use to interpret Bible verses? The Bible itself? Or an external authority? Your own interpretation? The Holy Spirit? Each has different interpretation. Some say Baptism is essential Mk 16:16, some say not. Does Baptism remove sins?
Is the Bible the pillar of truth? No. The Church is the pillar of truth. 1 Tom 3:15.
Bible says no to private interpretation. 2 Pet 1:20. Christ gave us his Church, the Magisterium to keep us on the straight, so we don't follow everyone's own revelation. You are picking verses to different events to postulate your own beliefs over the Bible. I'm glad Jesus established his Church to protect the Bible from wrong interpretation. He knows what he's doing.
      You deny the very heart
of Christ's Church, the sacrifice of the Mass.
A Holy priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
      1 Pet 2:5.

    • @jamesjeson556
      @jamesjeson556 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Paul Beduhn
YES. The Apostles did literally eat the flesh of the Son of God. Jesus said my flesh is REAL FOOD. REAL as in REAL. God says so, you say no way. God is a Liar. You say He didn't say it? It right there. You're blind. Blind in your heart mind and soul.
And again you say the opposite, the church is not true. THE CHURCH IS THE PILLAR OF TRUTH. 1 Tim 3:15.
You must be standing on your head.
Your god is not the real God. Your god is a figment of your imagination. A small god with no church and no gift of eternal life of real food for the soul to fit in your small imagination. My God is more powerful and loving than your god.

    • @jamesjeson556

Christ is the head of his church and he appointed a man to lead it on earth. Matt 16:18,19.
Who says Christ speaking metaphorically in John 6? You? WRONG. Church teaches Christ means what he says. You or the Church? Easy one. The Church.

    3. Catholic leadership in partnership with political parties that promote sins against life.
    4. Catholics are not studying or reading the Bible.

My Faith was lukewarm until I had an epiphany when my wife died in 2010. Since then I am involved at my parish, lector, usher, Knight's of Columbus, and doing many Bible studies, and learning my Faith through reading and wonderful videos like this one. This is indeed what is missing in the Catholic Church, organizing systematic Bible studies straight after confirmation. Currently, the confirmation is like the end of everything, people being abandoned to themselves and nobody caring about their journey of faith when it should be the moment of deepening.

Hi Fr. Goring. Great post. I applaud your emphasizing the problem of 'lukewarm Catholicism'. "So many have settled for 'mediocrity and compromise'." ..In the leadership...Any Bishops you know that could be categorized that way, and should be approached and counseled? wink wink...I really don't mean to be sarcastic, but this is a HUGE problem. thank you for reminding us if the fundamental problems.

Fr mark until these Catholics by name only have a personal encounter with Jesus all it takes is a little desire to seek him Jesus does the rest
He will rush in once the soul moves ever so slightly to seek him out ! They must fight against all obstacles to seek him body mind and soul how do I know? Jesus blessed me in my suffering and turned it into his joy (we must pray for those souls ) Jesus is lost in those souls

      Mommy and rot in purgatory
      You have been deceived

Jesus said my people perish for lack of knowledge or for following false teachings
The Catholic Church worships Satan and the occult
      Look it up

The Catholic Church tells us Mary

I too was a fallen away catholic turned big screen evangelical for years. I would go, loved the music, people, felt inspired and uplifted. I even tried to get my mother, a catholic, to go, and she would say, "ok, I will go with you, but Im going to church afterward" lol. Meaning the real church, a catholic mass.. I reverted back to the 1 true church after years of feeling inspired yet still hungry and thirtsy in the evangelical world. And i never looked back. I am now a traditional catholic, attending a latin mass church, or reverent novus ordo churches. Get your kids green scapulars and st benedict medals, have them blessed by an fssp priest. And just continue to pray for their conversions. They will come back.

I'm not sure how many have seen the news, but there was an event in Poland. Jacob Baryla is a Polish youth that protested against a gay parade but there has been much backlash on Polish Catholics. I think we should start a novena to Our Lady of Victory up and till October 13. That's Poland's 2019 parliamentary election. We really should aid this country that still has a Catholic soul.

Thank you, Father!! 👏🏻With regard to your statement about St. Faustina versus the more “cerebral “ among us Catholics: The so-called intellectuals in our ranks are like scholarly Jews arguing the Talmud; they are like the Pharisees who are unable to live “in imitation of Christ “ and who stand in harsh judgment of others. We need more “gut level “, sincere Catholics who live as Jesus would want them to. As always, thank you, Father. Your wisdom and insights are wonderful and keep me going in the “right direction.” God bless you always.

The Catholic Church is Antichrist paganism
      You have no truth
      You are in spiritual darkness
Evil popes priests bishops and cardinals can’t help you
Accept Jesus as your lord and savior
He is the truth the way and the life
and the only way to the father.
Catholic heritic teachings will lead you to hell
      Repent
Can you say I was blind and can’t see
I was lost and not found
Have you had a spiritual change
      You are a sinner
      Jesus died for your sins
Do you praise and worship him
Or do you follow Roman Catholicism
      rituals not in the Bible
      Are you in a cult?
What do you know about your pope
      Or about your church
What if you were taught false things as a child
Are you open minded enough to look for the
      truth
Do you know understand and follow the Bible
What if church teachers were wrong?
What if Martin Luther was right
      That selling indulgences
Murdering Christians at the Spanish Inquisition is true
What if priests were selling heaven
forgiveness and purgatory relief for a price
