You and Kens Karpentry are among the limited number of contractors who discuss or disclose costs. I consider that a mark of integrity. Although I can understand why others do not (supply chain/labor issues), in the long run its best to be transparent.
I own a design marketing company that works with contractors. I really admire your video marketing. It's a good amount of work and not many clients are brave to step outside the box. Pretty awesome.
Hey Paul I have a question for you. I noticed when you put in that last truss that it is just kind of floating and I guess screwed or nailed into the side of the posts. Do you add anymore support underneath? Maybe nailing more 2x6's to the posts in between the girts?
You are putting trusses every 8' you said if im correct. Is that a standard for your area of building? If so is that with a snow load factor involved? I'm from Michigan is the reason I am asking. I'm hoping to have a single story built in near future. I would love to be self built but injuries I received in 07 makes that impossible for me to do watching the way you do have built makes me appreciate how much pride you have in what you do. Keep up the great work & your information you give out is outstanding.. lf you know any good builders in Mi would recommend would be greatly appreciated.. Merry Christmas to you & your family...
We can do 8’OC with our snow loads. The nice part about truss design is your supplier can do the calculations based on your build location so your trusses are properly designed, they’ll let you know spacing, etc

If you are spacing the trusses 8' on/center how do install your steel ceilings for your finish lined and insulated shops?

On a single level floor plan, the interior framing do you still have to do 16” o/c or can you do 24” o/c?
Thank you

Do you have any TH-cam videos of the IMES layout you have on your website?
We don’t yet but hoping in January for more info!
Wouldn't staggering your purlins make pre drilling your sheet metal for screws more difficult and not be straigt across the full roof?
We don’t predrill the roof metal. Yes, the screws aren’t straight across but you won’t see it.
@@MrPostFrame thank you for responding
Can one use attic trusses in post frame buildings?
Yes it potentially could limit your span. They’re up to double the cost
Do you pre drill your roof purlins?
We usually mark them and pre drill.
