I just discovered this channel and love this video. I have LOADS of nostalgia for Black & White cause I got into Pokemon as a kid thanks to it but switched to original japanese when XY & Z dropped to get everything asap but loved it SO much that I stuck with it. Sun & Moon final battle was legendary for me, so rewatching it here was hype as hell for me but also incredibly depressing with the dub. Super glad I made that on the fly decision to switch to subbed. I stopped watching sometime after the Sword & Shield retelling in Journeys finished due to growing out of the series, but recently wanted to get back into it and decided to watch properly and go all the way back to season 1, but in english dub. I LOVE it tbh, but I'm gonna switch to sub again when I get to X&Y (although I gotta see some scenes from Diamond & Pearl in subbed like ash vs paul cause I heard they use type wild lol). Super glad I got back into Pokemon (plus the MASSIVE Teraleak helped motivate me to get back after a month hiatus of Pokemon lol)!
As someone who grew up with Danish (later watched it in English for a while) Pokemon I grew attached to the names they had- but after I started to Watch Pokémon in Japanse somewhere close to Black and White (Best Wishes in Japanese. Yes that is that seasons name in it Original- it's refferencet in all of the episdose, with most characters say "Best Wishes" as a form of Goodbye or see you later) up until current Pokémon (Pokémon Horizons)- as I've enjoyed seeing how Pokémon is in it's "original" form i.e Japanese (as I'm a huge nerd for Japan and anything related to Japan, Anime included XD). If I already knew the Pokémons names from the games then I could use them when watching a Japanese episode- though I sometimes just go with the Japanese names out of habit XD But I can agree Sub has the Dub beat in the Soundtrack and music department XD Like, I love every opening in both versions- but I have to say Sub beast the Dub in the way they use it. Like I was never bored when I was watching the sub with it's quiet moments XD tl;dr for the people wanting a shorter wording part I can rec watching the Sub if you are up for learning about Pokémons original names and characters original names- while having some amazing music to boot? It's worth it ^w^
Great video bro, im one of those who grew up with pokemon in dubbed . Always kinda avoided sub mostly becaude of the names of pokemon but i may give sub a try
I see a lot of people ripping into the dub soundtrack, and I seem to be the only person who is just unbothered by it. Like, I'd take watching shows in my native language over good music.
@@kazutrashI just went on gogoanime to try out a Japanese episode, and it redirected me to this disgusting website with a nude woman! Is there any website where I can watch it that DOESN'T do that to me?!
I am 100% sure that if people was watching it in Japanese, the appreciation for the anime was way higher
BUT THE DRYING PAN
Ok the dub has the sub beat there
