Please react to this live performance of The Stage by A7X 😍 the best live performance I've seen by them, EVER!!! th-cam.com/video/dgzvl_Oa0w8/w-d-xo.html
I like the lyrics in his song. It starts with a soldier explaining the setting, and why he is at war. Then he harkens back to public opinion. Many times it is against soldiers, it is against guys like him. But he believes he is doing the right thing and will fight to the death for his family and his country. Then the situation changes. He is shot and knows that he is dying, so you see his thought process in his last moments of life. He thinks of God and eternity. Then, he thinks of his family, his girl and his wife. Finally, he knows with his death, his sinning has come to an end. He asks the Lord to leave his light on. And then that beautiful guitar you talked about, Gibby, comes in, to signify that he has been forgiven and is heading to Heaven. I just think it is a great subject that is covered very well and very inspirationally.
Think it goes little bit further than that, I believe the soldier committed suicide. Reason being, "Never meant to leave this world alone, I never meant to hurt the ones who care." Dude eventually lost it, and everyone in the process, and took his own life. Just my thoughts as an OEF combat vet.
When he says "I'm free" and it goes into the solo, I never got goosebumps from a song until that.. god bless all of our troops who lost their lives, god bless all who served or are serving, and god bless america!
Top 10 a7x songs for me: 10.) Welcome to the Family 9.) Critical Acclaim 8.) Trashed and Scattered 7.) A Little Piece of Heaven 6.) God Hates Us 5.) Chapter Four 4.) Nightmare 3.) Afterlife 2.) Second Heartbeat 1.) The Stage

Tension 4. 4 am these are mostly "bonus tracks" and they happen to be some of the best ones I have ever heard. the drum part for Tension is the ONLY reason I play drums today. PLEASE DO VICTIM! Story of Nightmare Album- Syn’s Grandfather has passed and he wanted to tribute an album to him and while through recording the album, the rev and succumbed to his battle of addiction and now Syn had lost his childhood best friend. Trying to cope with depression the band knew the best move is to finish strong because that’s what they want! The songs Save Me and Fiction were the last two the Rev was working on and shows the powerful message the band had for us when releasing the album!
Ram I took it as he was addicted to opioids because the band also admitted it. And with the lyrics you’re talking about I took it as Jimmy said he knew he was addicted and that’s how he would be taking himself out! But I respect your view, I posted the comment more for the story of Syn and Matt writing the album. Much love brother!
Ram I guess you’re right! Fiction was very strong and it very clear that it was all about the end. I’m not trying to argue, I’m simply here to encourage Gibby to expand more on the value of the music rather than the top songs. That’s all! All but respect for you Ram and thank you for sharing some new perspectives on the bands history!

Gaunter O’Dimm I just meant the album as a whole. City of Evil was a great album too and what started me down my path into metalcore. Hail to the King was not my cup of tea though. That album is my least favorite.
ODST Cody oh, alright. For me HTTK was a mixed emotions kinda album. There are some song I really dig and some that were meh. CoE tho... one of the greatest albums out there in general. Back in the day I listened to it religiously when I was in the last year of elementary. This was the album that got me into more aggressive rock/metal.
There is a Avenged Sevenfold song I sometimes had requested on a radiostation in their driving home from work consept. I've never heard it there. The song name is Tension. I can really understand what the song is all about. Working hard, working late, no peace at home... but there is that moment on the road, driving, relaxing.
I love A7X. My favorites are as follows: Nightmare, Afterlife, I Won't See You Tonight, Warmness On the Soul, Buried Alive, Brompton Cocktail, So Far Away, A Little Piece of Heaven, Welcome to the Family, Save Me, Gunslinger, Critical Acclaim, Dear God, Beast and the Harlot, Seize the Day, Almost Easy, God Hates Us, Tonight the World Dies, Fiction, Natural Born Killer, and Second Heartbeat.
