Logging does make a mess of your land. So glad the mill was taking lumber. Chris I know you will make it beautiful. Light up some piles. We are all waiting. Get some rest.
I love the commentary Chris. It adds so much to the videos when we are given insight into why you do things a certain way, what the issues are and how you overcome them. You'll have bred a bunch of armchair operators over the years. I can't see an excavator in my travels without telling my wife stuff like 'That's the wrong bucket for that job' or saying how much the excavator probably cost.
Preacher! I'm SW Houston and they are widening Kegans Glenn canal over my back fence. 2 Hyundai 3300's excavators, a dozer, a loader and a compactor. EVERY day they march down from their rally point to continue work (just under a mile, so far). Back to rally for lunch, work, back to rally for quitting time. Last week I saw a 3300 slicking 15' from the water line for an hour that would have taken the doser 3 minutes. I may not be well...
Well we are privileged to watch the Earth Artist paint another great Earth Picture with his earth painting equipment. Thank You Chris for letting us follow along and you create another great picture.
One thing about Chris, he’s become one of the best narrators on YT. He always keeps us informed and what he says is interesting and entertaining. You’d think after so many videos he’d be talked out, but no, he’s just as glib as ever. I admire his ability to keep us informed and entertained. I like his style, pace, etc. Thanks, Chris.
Wow that 25 minute sycamore stump was a beauty. Only 5 flies - ever heard of the Aussie wave :) - they or even one is a proverbial pain. Don't always realize how many trees have been removed until the brush and stumps are in evidence. Loving this project LetsDig18.
Thanks for bringing us along on your adventures. It doesn't seem to matter about the terrain, you figure out a way and it's fun to watch. Can't wait for the burning of these piles. Have a good weekend, Chris.
Trivia.... We are in central indiana. We were talking one day about no poplar to speak of West of the wabash river. But cottonwood all the way to the Rockies.. It turns out its was the prairie fires.. Cotton wood is fire resistant and poplar not so. The Wabash was a naturall fire break.... Also more trees are bring planted today than are being harvested East of the Mississippi. Mostly because states give tree farms a propert tax break. And non tillable is not used as Much for pasture. Indy is the 4th largest hardwood producing state. Big business today growing trees. Most tree tops now here are chipped. Right at harvest time. For mulch and for the chip board plants making chipboard. And dome to pellet mills making pellets for heating. Very little waste any more. Use sawdust at the mill to heat and in kilns to dry lumber. I really enjoy these videos.
Stumping is always work but it has changed tremendously. At least you have excellent equipment for it. In my day Betty would be the ultimate stumper. I can't tell you the number of hours I spent on a 955H pedal steer doing it. Only thing worse would have been on an older stick steer.
No matter the project, u make the best of it. Your narration keeps it light and funny, thank u for video! Loved it. Even though frustrating, gaining good progress with grapple. God's blessings and be careful.
Man, the feeder roots on some of those stumps are really long. I am sure some of that is vines, but it is amazing what a bog with red clay underneath will allow some really big trees to anchor and spread. The really big stumps will make great fish habitats.
The joys of stump removal. My old +35 yr old Hitachi EX120- 2 struggles with the large pine stumps here in low country SC. It is not uncommon to take 30 min per stump and then I have a 10-12ft long stump that I can barely lift. However It sure does beat a pick and shovel!! Really like the stumping attachment. Definitely the best tool for the job.
Man, that logging sure leaves a shit load of trash to get up !! And that ain't even counting the stumps, and raking !! That section of woods you took out sure had a lot of vines in too, ya know it !!But, I think you will get threw all that pretty quick !! Got a good dent in it already... Great as always Chris !! Have a Great Evening, And, On too the next !!
if you can reclaim the spring, you will fix the bog issue. I have a spring buried under 4 feet of sediment. I know I will never find that spring as I have been searching for 40 years. It has made a great place to lose equipment!
Logging Party has ended and now to the Stumping Party - the Fun never ends - ha ! Burn Piles are Growing - we will see some Great Fires soon - wow ! But the Flies Love You - they want to be with You ! Much more Progress Today - You sounded very Happy ! Many Cheers from Australia !!!!
We had flies here like it was a plague. Millions of em on everything. Open door in house and a 1000 would come in. We put sticky traps in everything including cars. Went through dozens of em.
This Workday a Stumping "Party" to name, is very humour!. You must besides the complete Tree branch, and to Heaps to make even with Stumps between, for the next Rainday to burn up. This Workday hard! 💪 The Stumping not to End. However a very interesting Video. Thanks 👌👍
This logging-operation looks so foreign to my Scandinavian eyes. Probably works just as well but it's... different. By no means am I any forrest-worker, but we have a lot of woods in Sweden and the way we clear large areas of forrest is quite efficient using a harvester and a forwarder. When done only the stumps are left as limbs and such is gathered in and chipped. The area is then re-forrested by planting new fir/pine-trees to replace the old... 70-80 years later the process repeats.
Another pond in the making Chris, I was looking at a few of the older ponds you made and was wondering if it’s possible to gat a compilation of pond’s progress 1, 2 and 3 years on maybe others would like to see them too,
You’re making good progress. Seems to be one lot of brush to burn for the size of the area you are working in, however,, makes for good burn videos though. Thanks for the update sir.
I don't know about anyone else...BUT! It would have been awesome to see Wade here for the clearing of the trees. I love his cameos!! :) Other than that..OMG You are a Maestro! Knowing what can and can't be done in any given situation! Like Trevor said...I am now a armchair Operator now! I KNOW EVERYTHING!!! NOT!
Well, I got a feeling this is gonna be a nice 6 to 10 episodes pond build. It's Goody Gumdrop time with Chris working on two ponds at the same time plus the other projects he has going on around his farmstead. Good times. I'd have to have a coffee maker in that excavator to keep awake stumping. Heck, all the time actually.
Chris FLY problem ? Try setting AC to below 50, flies hate the cold they go dormant, leave tiny gap in open window they should leave !!! Or get an insectecuter !
Another great video Chris but man you need to get you a taller turn out pipe like the one that’s on Betty and put on your D6 and that way it will get that smoke and that noise out from under that cab but that’s just my suggestion but anyway my friend will see you on your next video

Lol! We go by a construction site now,and im liooking at the excavators and tellin hubby, oh, its a Volvo 220 they are using, or, hmm, a cat. 😄
@@cathiwim I am worse! I look at the tracks now...am I anal?

This is turning awesome. Each day better and better.
grapple really does have a good fit for this job, each tool has its place.

Great progress on clearing & finding some good clay! 👍👏👏👍
I love watching your videos, they never leave me stumped.
Bad joke! Lol!
@@cathiwim yeah but it's still funny! LoL
Now that some trees are cleared we can see that that is going to be a really deep pond. The valley really drops off.
Looks like a health amount of stumps to dig out but not as bad as Bealy Good pond prep.
Logging part of the video was good to see but now it’s the time for the real work to start!! Always enjoy the stumping!!
I like when your in the excavator. It's good to Hear u explain things. U should do that in the dozer. Great video 👍 👍Great video 👍 👍

That has to be one of the biggest stumps I have ever seen, 5 or 6 trees growing out of the same stump, dammm!
Thanks for bringing us along on your adventures. It doesn't seem to matter about the terrain, you figure out a way and it's fun to watch. Can't wait for the burning of these piles. Have a good weekend, Chris.
what i like is about your work ethic that work quality comes first that the job quality matters welldone
that 5 sprig sycamore stump is gonna be a BEAR to get rid of, burning or otherwise!
I found your channel yesterday and watch a bunch of your videos in 1.5 speed. Bridge watching.

Chris you are a true artist, because can draw flies!😂😂🤣🤣
You need Mr. DP to bring his 210 and show you how to get those stumps out.🤣🤣
Love watching you get all those big stumps out of field. Dozer Work Awesome. Cleaning the Field. God Bless.
Ain’t no party like a stump diggin party cuz a stump diggin party never stops 😂
😂😂
I can see a fire in the distance. It will be a flame. A big roaring flame!
Some of those stumps makes me curl up my toes 😂. 😊
it is amazing that those stumps are jolting that 220 around like that . like a old wood roller coaster
No matter the project, u make the best of it. Your narration keeps it light and funny, thank u for video! Loved it. Even though frustrating, gaining good progress with grapple. God's blessings and be careful.
Chris, you have a lot of resistance, you keep on going regardless how tired or sleepy you're, I like that💯💯💯

Had a yellow Ram and fly's loved it.
All the fly's are doing are having a party lol 😆. I am enjoying the video that you do keep up the good work.
Fire time soon. I like the burning because soon after dirt starts cut and fill .
Flies, just a taste of what its like hear in (inland) Australia, looooots of flies.
LetsStump18!👍
Great video as always, nice start to stumping the field.kudos 👍👍👍😎😎😎

....lookin' good, nice work, keep safe and have a great week..
Job well done 👍🏻
Looks like you're going to build a nice pond.
Those edge of the field monster stumps sound like they will have great potential for being fish habitat.
if you can reclaim the spring, you will fix the bog issue. I have a spring buried under 4 feet of sediment. I know I will never find that spring as I have been searching for 40 years. It has made a great place to lose equipment!
I like your big fires, but I am also glad you got the wood pellet manufacturer to do their job. Sometimes sticking to what right pays off.
"Stumping Party" 🤣
Thank you and have a great day.
Them flies. All want to get in on the action!

A grappel is not your cup of tea, you are a bucket man.

I've been feeling nervous about one of those logs coming through the windshield. Never happen with Chris, but it looks close sometimes.
If you had the rain we did in Mebane yesterday I bet it’s a muddy mess today. We had almost 2 inches in one storm yesterday afternoon.
You need a vibrate button . When you pull the stump you'd lift it up and vibrate the dirt out of the roots

Love the stumping parties.
I TOTALLY ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO CHRIS 😊
Stump humpin',gotta love it!!!😊
I had one an half arces of sycamore cut all down now got
14 big stumps to get rid of but I done this all by hand yes muddy clay soil
This is a good time to get that MONSTER excavator back for stumping..
You have quite a nice Deer Stand on the hill Chris.
Coming up great especially with your trusty dozer rake Chris!! :)
Some big stumps there😱😊
The stumping would get to me. I would prefer to dig dirt and load trucks over stumping. Project is taking shape. Thanks for sharing.
That dozer rack is a nice piece of equipment!
Another pond in the making Chris, I was looking at a few of the older ponds you made and was wondering if it’s possible to gat a compilation of pond’s progress 1, 2 and 3 years on maybe others would like to see them too,
Use smells like cinnamon as an air freshner, as flies hate the smell! Lavender, eucalyptus, peppermint and lemongrass essential oils helps too.
That's going to be a fire for a month or more
Stump party means a Burn Pile! yES!
You’re making good progress. Seems to be one lot of brush to burn for the size of the area you are working in, however,, makes for good burn videos though. Thanks for the update sir.
That's the way things go restack and restack it was a great try but it was too wet and too much for the skidder but great video thanks Chris and Kevin

I enjoy watching the logging action

The D6 with the root rake is a great way to cleanup debris; as you know.
Chris keep up your video brother. I see your video every day brother. 👍👍👏😄
Looks like it's gonna be quite big and deep.
What a PITA it is handling all those gnarly, pulp wood trees. Profit must be nickels on the dollar? 🤔
Can't imagine having to burn it all, though. 🤯
Great Video Chris Thanks for sharing the different stages!!👍👍
Digging those stumps with the EC550 would be a pleasure 😅
Chris FLY problem ? Try setting AC to below 50, flies hate the cold they go dormant, leave tiny gap in open window they should leave !!! Or get an insectecuter !

Chris,....you need us to send you some fly sticky strips for your inside cab? Lol. :)
Looking good Chris.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Put a fly strip in the cab.
Nice job Chris
Should have had the 550 to do some stumping!! Great videos
that grapple is slicker than frozen snake snot ! 👍
Enjoyed watching the video
Stumpers need to be made more like a crowbar to use the ground for leverage.
yellow attracts bugs for some unknown phenomenal reason
Enjoy this video Chris on the stumping Party .
Looking good.
This video really has me stumped.
ditch down the middle --- canals actually lower the proximate water table.
flies - maybe larva in the manure that was spread on the the rye fields this spring?
Looks great Chris 🇺🇸
Enjoyed watching 😊
Get one of those USB powered Fly/Bug Zapper lamps...
Hang it up behind you
nice big farm , wo ho d6 , be interesting
Do I smell a burn pit burning in the near future
You do!
