I saw them in 77-78 at University of Iowa, Iowa City. They were not received well by the farm/university audience. A lot of Boos and people leaving. I knew what to expect . I heard one of their albums in a dorm room. I was also a Zappa fan.
I have this fantastic piece of modern music. Bought in Paris, probably at New Rose, in 81. I had the luck of a great musicshop in Arnhem tipping me the music I was going to like. Like this band. And what a great sleeve too!
Missed this band even though I was on the same small Belgium label years ago. They are really good, brilliant even, very early punk synth-wave (Cabaret Voltaire, Clock DVA). Better late than never, I say!
Amazing haven't heard this song [the first track] for approx 35/36/37 years . My brother taped it of a John Peel show .Funny how it messes with my mind hearing it again and bringing back some subtle feelings of how I was in those days unaffected by the extremes of existence. This tune is just as complex, disturbing, dark and light and unexpected as what lay ahead.
Ciao, Massimo.

Recently rediscovering this band and other Ralph Records artists from late 70's/early 80's...thanks for making this available!

So which of their Albums did you already hear in 1978 ???? ;-)
@@tiefkultur668 We’d never heard of them. Nobody had any albums. We just went.

tellement froid, tellement bien, la new wave sombre et fascinante de mes 17 ans
Pareil ici! Les dix-sept ans…!! Merci beaucoup Frank!!! À tout à l’heure, ∟∪⊂∀ ˜_˜
Fantastica musica.......
Brilliant.
Super band!
Saw/Heard them at "TUTS" in Chicago circa 1980 - a Beck's Bier & Hash evening - incredible!!!

those tags are wrong and unnecessary
I'd actually forgotten all about these guys even though I own several pieces of vinyl.
Brilliant!
🗣ESPECTACULAR BANDA 👏👏

makes sense- they were on the resident's label for a short time, & also came from SF.
Tuxedomoon without Michael Belfer's authoritative e-bow work just wasn't the same.
@[original] EXISTENCE Correct!
I just recently found out these guys are from my hometown SF, awesome
they are not. Blaine is from Colorado, Steven is from Chicago.

PRESURCEUR SON MODERNE

I obtusely shunned this band in its day for their corny name. It's still corny but they're great, up there with early Roxy, Ultravox, Magazine.
We must have all done that but you are right!!
@@davesexgang6186 thx for yr late reply. havent listened to them for a while and you reminded me.
their name is as great as they are...are you kidding? magazine? Roxy music? gtfoh
@@stevedter The name hurt them. Its imagery made them sound like a disco act or retro '40s act like Manhattan Transfer. Go troll yourself.
@@jimrader5299 the name is great. Go troll yourself and learn more about 40's retro acts...You're not on the radar.
