Hi Russ, the summer videos series was really cool. We just started a new adventure, we sailed our new boat, a 2020 Corsair 880 Sport Trimaran from our condo in Key Largo, Florida to West Pal Beach and crossed over to the Bahamas from there. It's only 57 miles from West Palm to West End Bahamas. With the current from the Gulf Stream and a 20 mph west wind, we were able to cover the 57 miles in 3.25 hours and averaging 16.2 knots. The Corsairs are known for their insane speeds. We will probably stay in the Bahamas until July of 2022......

I've been following your travels and we have been trodding some of the same ground, from Flaming Gorge south through St George. We just stayed a couple weeks at Lake Mead where that huge 70+ mph wind ripped off my awning while it was up and latched to the side of my MH. It bent the arms, broke the latches and everything. Anyway, we just arrived at Q today - our first time staying here. We just payed the $180 LTVA fee at La Posa S. We are FTers and since April we have spent only $70 in CG fees, as we boondocked from TX, through NM, CO, WY, UT, NV now here. We were spoiled to finally have to pay a little, but consider it an outstanding deal as it includes not just a place to stay, but unlimited water, dump and trash disposal. I'm sure you're glad to be back home after your giant loop from East to West. Maybe we'll bump into you while here. If so I'll buy you a beer or two. We enjoy your informative videos quite a bit. Thanks.

Russ, I've got an electric bike for sale you might like. A well used and loved Gold Rush recumbent converted to electric. Not new, but runs great. Also have a rack that will hold it that you can put on the back of your RV. Your Quartzsite tour was quite the editing tour-de-force. You're the man! We hit a lot of the same spots this summer, so I'm sorry we didn't cross paths.

We're here in Cochise county, Sunizona/ Pearce off the 191.
Purchased this 40 acre lot (house and 2400sq shop) year ago July.
You've got quite the big time city going on out there! It's one place we stop for fuel on our California adventures. That's how boring this population 200 Sunizona is!
We're going to take advantage of this little "boom " going on and sell, buy a fifth wheel for my ram dually, purchase a property or two at the river (The wife is bored here at our young minded 52 year age), and travel around the 49 to see those things we've heard of but never seen.
    My point to this novel....
Quartzite.... a big "to do for the stop of the winter? Is it a big deal kind of thing?
    Thanks for any info.
Be safe, enjoy life and see you out on the adventures!

Can someone more knowledgeable than me help me out please. Two years ago I spent a week on the western side of Quartzsite . After a couple of days I needed water and I couldn't for the life of me find a water vending machine. Are there any in Quartzsite? Obviously after that I had to move on. Found myself in Parker and then everything was good again. Outside of Lake Havasu is very pleasant too.

Like many older desert rats i remember Quartzite was a wide spot on I-10, way before Pilot & Mcdonalds & the rest of the cororate gentrifiers ever dreamed of opening up shop here to cater to the free camping crowd in their golden years gold rush. Enjoyed the old rockhounds & authentic desert dwellers coming to town & setting up their lapidary & rockshops for winter on the main drag, About 150 people lived here year round & maybe a couple hundred frugal snowbirds & urban refugees camping out in the desert & living on the cheap during the winter. In the past 20-30 years it's become a humongus swap meet/yard sale & truck stop for the multitudes of gas & diesel guzzling geezers glamping out in their golden years. Miss the uncrowded old days, but happy for those folks who found a place to go and hang out instead of driving in circles all winter looking for free place to camp. As well as a huge annual economic boost to the community. You'll enjoy an electric bike, electric bikes, trikes and quad cycles are great, quiet, efficient and don't raise alot of dust. A great mode of tranportation for the elderly internal combustion generation to ween themselves off their hard core addiction to gasoline. Someone should open an e-bike shop in Quartsite, I am sure they would do quite well. & that would certainly help with the local traffic snarls and congestion. Old dogs are slow to learn and accept change , but electric bikes will bring a healthy, happy and fun way to get around as opposed to driving Jeeps, ATV's Motorcycles & DuneBuggys endlessly racing to town and back.

Terrible Herbst is the whole name. There used to be one in San Bernardino I think. I was very small and now I see them all over Arizona. Western Auto I saw in Texas too. Awful what California did for businesses.
