What made it great was not being able to understand the background Japanese announcers language but they always said the obstacles name in English. So it went like this: blah, blah, blah, LOOOGGGG ROLLLL, blah, blah, blah, JUMMMMPIIIING SPIIIIDEEER, blah, blah, blah METAAALLLL SPINNNN.
What also made it great was that they spent most of the time on the runs and not the useless backstories. I give ZERO effs about what the contestant did or does outside of their run.
I'm sorry to hear that about Drew Dreschel. I had always enjoyed watching his performance. Just shows how someone can look so admirable in certain situations and be so messed up in others.
Our family really loves this show and honestly I can't pick a favorite. Jessie Graff, Flex LeBreck, Flip and Joe the Weatherman are historic ninjas. I tend to cheer for all of them because even if they fall on the first obstacle, they're doing better than I could.
I love this show! 😁 Japanese Ninja Warrior is the best!😁 What those guys did. :) Amazing!😁 There are so many legendary contestants we love. Takeda Toshisiro, Shingo Yamamoto, Katsumi Yamada, Kazuhiko Akiyama,,Bunpei Shirator. Makoto Nagano is absolute legend! Commentators(ours) were fantastic too😁
What I like about the original Japanese version is that the participants are just regular people and most of them are just doing it for fun. Then the top competitors work regular jobs that just happened to be strong enough that makes you think they can conquer the course but the course win most of the time. ANW has become a full time profession, which could be both good with amazing athletes and bad in losing the original vibe of a goofy wacky fun tv show.
I think if it reaches to qualify for the Olympics, it might lose some of the comradery and good will spirit we see now at this level of competitiveness. I do not particularly care for sports but this show I totally love it!!! Glad it expand to include on for children as well as I did Spartans. But want to keep a good spirit for competitiveness with a healthy mindset. I think it could add to a healthier America to at least get active and physically fit. Thanks for video.
The IOC would give it a boring name like "Obstacle Racing". But I mean, they've got speed climbing and breakdancing for 2024, so anything is possible, I guess.
Mt. Midoriyama is the most famous playground on television. I wish to go there before the design of the Sphere if I were born earlier. The Japanese game show made the new sport to be established in America. And it's the youngest ever done rather than played!
Something that has and probably will alway's irk me is that the original Stage 3 was never beaten during an Official Season. The original Stage 3 was first beaten during a American Ninja Warrior: USA VS. The World special. The Japan team was the first one's to beat it. That was such a wonderful moment. The originators were the one's to first beat Stage 3. So much respect. Those who watched that or were there in person know. So back then I was looking forward to seeing Stage 3 beat in the next Season. Was disappointed to see that next Season they started changing Stage 3. They couldn't at least waited til Stage 3 was beaten during an Official Season. So sadly Stage 3 will remain forever unbeaten in an Official Season.
@@cogi4829 I go by what I said. They could've waited til the original Stage 3 was beaten during an official season then started changing it the following season.
so glad when Zuri started, her predecessors gave some uncomfortable interviews. and they didn't just edit drew out of unaired episodes. they edited him out of seasons that had already aired of ninja warrior junior where he acted as a coach
There are so many athletes who are incredible, but have much less of a chance because of their size. Football players, for example, tend to be heavier. There are so much upper body challenges and the contestants have to pull their own weight up each time. Smaller people have a better chance for that merte fact alone. Gymnastists, pole volters, rock climbers, they tend to be less bulky and that works in their favor.
Makoto Nagano is the guy your thinking of, the second person to ever beat all four stages on the Japanese show and he made it to the final stage 5 times in total
So am I the only one who remembers that the show in the very beginning started at camp after the finals and before they went to Japan. I could as be thinking of a very similar show
Calf Oreo and I grew up on the same street! He taught me to rock climb and to break boards. Cool guy! He has a massive mock-up set in his parents’ backyard still
8:15 And this is one of the gripes for me... SASUKE doesn't focus on sob stories and to my knowledge so didn't the early seasons of ANW. However nowadays sob stories are a big part and I personally dislike it a lot
Unpopular opinion I hate Zuri on ninja warrior. She’s so stand offish. I loved her on E, she was so bubbly. Maybe cause it was actual millionaires. 🤷🏼♀️ I’m loving the new ninjas, jay leche, eligah the boss, kaden, baby Bergie, Kai beckstand, OG NINJAS unfortunately my favorite was Drew Dreschel I just recently found out what happened to him, I couldn’t figure out why he won then disappeared especially after just having a baby. Joe the weather man, Lance Pekus, josh levin can’t wait for his return. I think he had head trauma then wanted to finish school. Love carbone, josh Murray, was a fan of towers of power. Theirs so many. I’ve watched for so long. A lot of the new girls are putting it on the og ladies.
8:25 And they still have this rule nowadays after having it removed for couple seasons but then brought it back when Drew and Daniel got to the final stage... And now with Vance and Daniel both getting the total victory in ANW 15, Daniel, just like Geoff, didn't get the prize money. Absolute joke...
Imagine Matt Isemans parents… Sent kid to Princeton, sent kid to Columbia. Kid becomes a doctor. Quits medical field to become comedian.😂😂😂😂😂 I’m just joking. A person who can find a career they love, that supports the family is truly blessed.
Learning about the prize money turned me off from the show. I enjoyed Beast Master, but it wasn’t short ppl friendly. No matter how well they did, the shorties always lost.
I started watching when it was the original where they went to Japan. I kept watching n was a fan until someone won the American version after that I stopped. Someone won n they just made it harder. I always had this idea I'd compete but not anymore.
21:15 Biggest disappointment maybe ever in Ninja... Was a huge fan of his and was really hoping that he would one day be the first foreigner to achieve Total Victory in SASUKE... Needless to say that he destroyed everything
The girl he had sex with was as much to blame notice how she waited until he won the money to report. Drew should of been smart enough to say no as the girl should not of intisted him. So many lives ruined.
@poindextertunes so I had the videos in a queue where they automatically play the next video and I guess the last video I was typing my comment and it went to the next one 😂. I thought it would still comment on the other video, but dammit I guess not 💀💀
i have not been fond of the show since the montra of being the "FIRST ninja warrior" was a motivation heard frequently only to witness that the guy who won actually had an unfair advantage as he was able to rest and watch the competitor and thius perform his trial faster and even though he was the second ninja to complete the course he got the reward- Unfair! as the viewers had thought it was the first ninja to complete the course- what a let down!. the obstacles seemed to favor a taller person.(unfair) making Katy win so amazing!
This video is fine but the title is dumb click bait, you're acting like "they" are hiding the truth from you, when it's really just a bunch of knowable information about Ninja Warrior...
Hahaha smh 'murica All of that production and it cannot reach the original level The fact that time goes up and not down, that you can be eliminated and move to next stage.. Defeats the whole purpose of ninja warrior, it's spirit Sasuke kanpai!!
Who was your favorite competitor on "American Ninja Warrior?"
One of Ninja's Top TH-camrs, Electric Enzo DeFerrari Wilson has been part of the Teenage Takeover competing in Seasons 13, 14, and 15.
Kacy. ^^
Makoto Nagano 😁
Joe Moravsky, David Campbell, Ryan Stratis, Lance pekus, James McGrath, Allyssa Beird, Chris Digangi, Jesse flex Labrack and Jessie Graff
Kaden lebsack, Daniel Gil, and Jay Lewis are my top 3
The original Japanese Ninja Warrior was fantastic. It was the perfect thing to have on TV in the background at a party.

I remember watching the Japanese version. It was awesome! I also loved Unbeatable Bansuke

The first time I ever saw that dude run over a decade ago I knew he was a creep. People gotta work on their awareness skills.
I miss the Mt. Midoriyama format of the show. It felt like there was more at stake and incredibly more difficult
Our family really loves this show and honestly I can't pick a favorite. Jessie Graff, Flex LeBreck, Flip and Joe the Weatherman are historic ninjas. I tend to cheer for all of them because even if they fall on the first obstacle, they're doing better than I could.

well they couldnt just keep stage 3 the same every year or they would start to figure out how to beat it very easily

@@cogi4829that's the point, stage 3 is changed until it's beaten which it never was
This would be way more fun than half the events in the olympics
That took a turn for the grim and dark at the end.

This video was very interesting. I've been watching this show for almost a decade and I didn't know half of these
Even sky zone has added some ninja type obstacles to go along with their trampolines
Honestly......... I miss the original Ninja Warrior. That Unbeatable Banzuke.
I love Sasuke cause it is really fun, but I'm amazed to know the USA took it to a superhuman level 😯
Incredibly accurate! As a current competitor I appreciate the research that went into this
There are so many athletes who are incredible, but have much less of a chance because of their size. Football players, for example, tend to be heavier. That's one thing about the show that I've never liked, is how so much of the obstacle course depends exclusively on upper body and grip strength.
also taller folks could do the jumping spider and the span walk with greater ease.
Was wild when it first started on g4
a lot of people forgot the greatest ninja ever levi meeuwenberg if he competed today he would of beaten stage 4 multiple times
Thank you! I was surprised this video didn’t mention him at all.
I can't with the way he just goes "Akbar Kajahbilamila" 💀
Gal Gudut, lol
Ending on such a happy note....
I used to watch the original
Ninja Warrior. the only guy to beat it was a fisherman who trained on his boat, if i remember correctly
Makoto Nagano is the guy your thinking of, the second person to ever beat all four stages on the Japanese show and he made it to the final stage 5 times in total
Very nice video to watch as a SASUKE/Ninja Warrior fan 👏Seems like you've done your research
So am I the only one who remembers that the show in the very beginning started at camp after the finals and before they went to Japan. I could as be thinking of a very similar show
No you right, that was the first thing I remember from the original ANW.
Kaci katnizaro or however you spell it. The first woman to go all the way to Mount midoriama

Thanks for the video. It's a good starting point for those who doesn't know anything about ANW or Sasuke in general.
9:57 Technically SASUKE/Ninja Warrior got into the 2028 Olympics as Modern Pentathlon decided to include Obstacle course racing as a part of it
I love beastmaster, I watched it before ninja warrior
21:14 Drew Drechsel had his records excluded from the Official Sasuke Book for a reason: Remember sex crimes?
