According to my research on Nurarihyon, it's a type of youkai that holds tremendous power over Youkai. Occupying a Similar role in to Governor, Royalty or General. Know to be polite and amicable around humans. Reportable, they make great house guests
Nurarihyon only became ruler because the manga author Shigeru Mizuki wanted a recurring villain for their series "Gegege no Kitaro" There's actually was no such thing as "ruler of all yokai" Nurarihyon wasn't even in the original night parade of one hundred demons. In fact, even their name has been spelled wrong for decades. The first painting of the yokai houseguest was actually called, "Nurihyon" just 2 letters short. There were other two yokai that had a very similar name "Nurarihyon" and they were both seamonsters. One Nurarihyon was a Umibōso. That was said to be a yokai version of either a jellyfish or octopus. And the other Nurarihyon was said to be a faceless catfish, a spirit of lies and deception. Both seamonsters have never been drawn, but you can sometimes see seamonster traits be shown in character desings of the houseguest Nurarihyon.
Funny enough, if you have the books, there's this extra short story of Awashima trying to convince Rikuo to do Matoi with them. Because they really want to know if doing to would turn Rikuo into a girl lmao
I've never heard of this kind of monster girl before, but I like her. Especially because of the headpats.
This monster girl is the last entry in the Monster Girl Encyclopedia Volume 2. She is considered a very manipulative youkai.
I hope we get a part 2 of this. This is beautiful at its finest!
