    World without testing and assessment seems to be a world without science in general. Because testing and assessment is part of the scientific method to make sense of the world.

    Sana masagot agad
    I heard from you about ruling out biological causes I learn also from my classes before that we need to rule out ther medical condition and treat that first than mental illness but threat also the mental illness. Kasi nga we have illness na mental illness due to medical/biological condition.
This is provincial case po for TV features. Kami kasi parang iba yung nakikita namin based on our learning na parang may mali

      Hi Ms Krystal. Ken here, a psychology practitioner po and currently taking MS in clin psych po. Here are my comments regarding your concern.
      In psychology, we often use the multipath model to determine the predisposing, precipitating, perpetuating, and protective factors. Part po ito sa assessment process na we have to rule out possible contributory factors. Napaka complicated po kasi ng mga disorders. Sometimes, symptoms overlap. Thus, we often check the differential diagnosis to distinguish one disorder from another. As far as I know, most of the disorders I came across with may criteria na ang symptoms dapat hindi siya because of an existing physical or other medical condition. Hence, it is important to check ano ba yung nauna.
      Example includes PTSD and traumatic brain injury.
      If questionable yung diagnosis, you can always ask for a second opinion. :D
      I hope naka help.

    Sir, ang assessment and diagnosis po ba ay same sila ng goal?

    • @JPBuduan
      @JPBuduan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Mas broad ang assessment. Wherein ang diagnosis is to label a collection of symptoms present in a person (ex. Depression), assessment can go as far as explaining the probable cause of depression, the severity, the overall functioning of the person, and treatment plan. Of course, depende sa reason for referral or objective set in the assessment. Tapos we can also apply assessment in other fields like educ and IO
