Ironically the problem is similar to NASCAR money and fame, sold out. Star Wars faces similar challenges in that it is an established success versus the creative long shot it was in the beginning.

I watched Dukes religiously as a youngster. I would pretend that Bo was my boyfriend and my best friend, Rachel, would pretend that Luke was her boyfriend. I have the strawberry blonde hair and she has dark brown hair, so we "matched. I remember that my mother and I went to a yard sale once and I bought a halter top and some "Daisy Dukes" and wore them. My mother saw me in that outfit and she said "oh no, you are NOT going out like that"! I wanted to see what would happen if I did go out like that. Well, I did, and I got some "hoots and hollers" while I rode my bike through the neighborhood. LOL I got home and mom was pretty steamed. It was the 80's, and it was part of our childhood. I am so thankful to have had you guys part of our lives.

      Hellk Lori,
At the risk of coming off like a perv, which I'm not, did you keep the halter top and "Daisy Dukes"? I ask, because, if I remember correctly, Catherine Bach still has hers.

      Hey John,
No questions, just comments. First off, I really enjoyed The Dukes of Hazzard. I still watch it from time to time, including clips on you tube. My favorite thing about The Dukes of Hazzard was that it was family oriented and it had "cool" cars, and I was always smiling while watching it. Also, I did get to meet Tom Wopat, and Catherine Bach many years ago at two different car shows here in the Seattle area.
I have a diecast car collection, and have the 1/18 and the 1/24 scale of the General Lee. It's one of my favorites...along with the Starsky and Hutch Torino, and the Batmobile.
I just learned of your you tube channel and have subscribed, and also just learned of your music and will be checking that out as well.
Anyway, thanks for letting me say what's my mind, and for all the years of TV enjoyment! -Ken

I was one of the most dedicated Duke's of Hazard fan alive. Our family watched the show religiously!! I was a young teen and dreamed of marrying Bo Duke. Now I have adult children and they all loved the show too. I have a little toddler shirt that belonged to my son, Jonathan. I've kept it through the years and one of my grandsons also wore it. It is so bittersweet to sit down and watch the videos now. I feel so sad knowing so many of the cast are gone now. Thank you for sharing your experiences and stories with us. God Bless you John.

But when ever I see the reruns on "TV" i feel young again and the memories fly through my head of how old i was where i was in life.....if i was single....just stupid stuff like that. But i did buy all the season one by one after my fire in 2000 when i lost everything. They weren't cheap. Do i eat today or buy a season? Buy a season I can eat.in a few days.....lol that's what got me through my losses was the reruns....just a all American family show that was so real in it's own way.....brought family's together on a friday night....list goes on.....

Dukes of hazzard was to me a learning show. Taught me to watch out for bad folks. Taught me to respect my elders (wow we need that in today’s society). And finally and most important is family. My family always ate dinner at the table. We didn’t get our food and go off to our self or whatever. DOH is so needed in today’s society to teach our young ones the proper way of life. Thank you John for all the work you put in to make clean movies that “Families” can watch together. Please continue your work. I know it can’t be easy.

I always liked the jump from the 'River Styx' cliff in "Double Sting" (used on the opening credits second season onwards and recycled footage in a number of episodes), and that first classic jump over Rosco's car in "One Armed Bandits" - again used on the opening credits and one of the first bits of footage ever shot for the series; but I will admit the train jump in "Grannie Annie" is definitely up there, top three for me. To note is that they later replicated a similar stunt - Coy and Vance era, I believe - which many fans presume to be the original stunt just using different angles, but nope, they jumped a train twice. On a weekly TV show budget. You just don't get that kinda thing any more (and in that situation, CGI just doesn't cut it). :)

I wish there could be a reboot of the Dukes of Hazzard. I was 9 years old when the show came out. Me and my best friend were glued to the TV every Friday night. The show was a great moral compass for us, and it always kept our imaginations full of ideas like becoming Stunt Men one day and how to build a better ramp to jump our bikes. The Dukes of Hazzard was the highlight of Friday evening for us and I am a native Georgian. My Mother lived in Youth Ga. Between Monroe and Loganville which makes it kind of sentimental to this day for me. I remember arguing in school that your hair was not colored because I had the same long cotton blonde hair that you had.
That show displayed more about country life and hospitality in Ga, better than any other ever has. I want to thank you for bringing families together on a friday night.

John, I am just so glad you popped by. You're amazing. Thanks for letting us know the answers to our questions about The best show ever. Oh, I miss them good old days. I loved that show. Yep you had that hair back in the day and still do. What was your best scene with Roscoe? Were the doors on the General Lee not able to open? Your videos are so awesome and I love the magic tricks you do. Hilarious. Love all you do best wishes to you and your wife. 😃 I was sitting here thinking. I believe it's not right that TV land wouldn't carry the episodes. The Dukes of Hazzard is the best show that ever came on television. A show that was a big part of my childhood.

My favorite thing was Uncle Jesse's love for his three young people in the house. Daisy was always happy & sweet to people. Bo & Luke's adventures were daring, exciting, and they always solved the mystery of what Boss Hog was up to. The idea of the family bond. On Christmas Eve Uncle Jesse told Boss Hog to come on in the house for Christmas, eventhough he had been mean to Uncle Jesse. You could feel a real-life bond between the Characters while watching, it is unexplainable! The one that was super funn was when Boss Hog & Roscoe dressed as women. (decoy for the diamond necklace thief) When they walked down the stairs at Boss Hoss's house dressed up like women, they were hilarious! I'm big smiles just typing about it!😁😀😃❤❤❤

The greatest moment in the show for a little girl. lol The reason why I knew about this show was because my whole family watched it back then. There was a Dukes of Hazard poster on the inside of one of my grandma's cupboards in her kitchen for many, many, years. It was the one with you, Tom, and Catherine on it. Sadly, she has passed but this show and Hee Haw bring back so many memories of being in my grandma's living room, with my family, and just waiting in excited anticipation for an orange car to jump into the air.

You are absolutely right John about this show and how family-orientated it was. It's sad the way programmes have gone but it makes The Dukes of Hazzard even more special and a real timeless classic. I'm enjoying watching all these videos made by you and James Best too. There's probably loads more of others if I keep searching. It's so lovely to see how close you all really were and even off camera and well after the show ended, how much respect you still have for one another. You really do lift my confidence that family values still actually exist! I could probably think of hundreds of questions as I was and still am a huge fan to this day but I'll narrow down to two for now... I have Sky, Netflix and Amazon Prime - is the 2005 Reunion film anywhere and which channel would I most likely to see the original TV episodes? I managed to tape a handful a few years ago but not sure which channel it was? 2nd question - I'm nearly sure you and Tom got replaced for a while - which was just awful - no disrespect to the actors but you were badly missed then came back. What was that all about? My biggest regret was not getting a die cast General Lee car when I was a child but...I did have the Dukes of Hazzard horns in 2 of my cars years later lol!

I'm from Chile, I grew up watching The Dukes of Hazzard back in the 80' and I have great memories of my childhood enjoying the show. Now as an adult I think the show brings a lot of nostalgia and still remains in the hearts of many fans around the world. But I think that its great contribution beyond being a healthy show with a lot of humor and action, was the fact that it was so authentic but also highlighted the American values from the Founding Fathers: Life, Liberty and Property that would come to be a libertarian influence. and it also has a conservative side: God, Country and Family. For me, those are values that a good show must transmit. Greetings from Chilean Patagonia 🇨🇱✌️.

The reason why the Dukes of Hazzard is still important to me. My back story quickly. Im from the midwest Iowa to be exact. I was born in 1977 I grew up with my Grandparents till i was 5. Friday nights as far back a i can remember. Was us going out to eat and then coming home and watching the Dukes of Hazard with my Grandfather. I would dance to the intro of the show and sing along. While my grandpa watched. I even got to have a picture of myself with one of touring show cars of the General Lee at the Iowa state fair when i was 4 years old. I lost my Grandfather in 1998 but everytime I watch the Dukes it takes me back to their living room floor as a kid just having a great friday night with his grandpa. Thank all of you for making a show that has been something i still love and a way for a memory of my past always made fresh in my mind. Keep up all the good that you do and hopefully someday i can make it to a Bo extravaganza to see you in person. Im also preodering Christmas cars after typing this to you. Godbless
