- What is "carry" in venture capital? And, how do venture capitalists get paid?
Venture Capitalists, also known as "VC fund managers" and/or "Principals" receive "carry" or "carried interest" as their primary source of payment outside of management fees.
The "carry" is the portion of the profits that VC's receive after the original principal is paid back to the Limited Partners, which can be anywhere from 15=30% of the profits from the returns.

I find it annoying when he is trying to explain but gets interrupted all the time
thank you for the feedback.:)
Friendly constructive feedback for the host, you interrupt the speaker too often and derail what they were talking about.
Gold... I've started my university (masters in CS) with background in entrepreneurship from one of the VC firms in Singapore. How can I get involved in University VC fund ?

@@VentureCapitalfm fair enough, keep up the great content!
The interruptions by the guy on the left are so annoying .
This is Jon. I’m the guy on the left. 😀
One doesn't take 20 million dollar in management fee but 2 mil which is the ideal 2 percent. What is this guy smoking?
I’d have to watch the video again. What was your specific question? - Jon
I'm team Jon! The interruptions seem like a natural part of the conversation. ;)
Lol! Thanks! -Jon
