    Hi guys! Thanks for picking up my suggestion :D
    Simone can sing lower, of course, but she is a soprano, the highest female voice. If you want to hear her singing a bit lower, try "Serenade of Self-Destruction". Simone said in an interview that she shows all her vocal abilities in that song. That was back in 2012 though. She has evolved as a singer since then. Here's the link: th-cam.com/video/nohoGUsr7R8/w-d-xo.html
    Btw, Mark's harsh vocals are called death growls or grunts. Not screamo (that's a subgenre of emo rock music).
    Floor and Simone were not friends as kids and not lived together. Some fans just spread myths in youtube comments.
    Mark Jansen (the founder and mastermind of Epica) was in the band After Forever, where Floor was the main vocalist. Simone Simons was Mark's girlfriend at the time and he took her to AF concert where she met Floor and they became friends. Mark later left After Forever and in 2002 formed Epica. Simone joined very shortly after that as the lead female vocalist.
    Now back to "Storm the Sorrow". Some metalheads despise it just because it sounds "too mainstream" but I think it's a beautiful song. Simone actually had pretty bad muscle fever after shooting this video, from all the silicone bands pulling her arms and legs :) You can read about the song meaning and see some cool photos from behind the scenes on her personal blog here: www.smoonstyle.com/2012/05/stormed-sorrow.html

      Btw, not catchy enough? I think Storm the Sorrow has very catchy melody! And it's beautiful.
      But you can try another one "Beyond the Matrix" th-cam.com/video/EhGgb1E3HpQ/w-d-xo.html
      Simone once said that "it's a pretty gay song" but that shouldn't be an issue :)

    you can hear lowest range of SImone mostly in ballads like Delirium, Memory (Cats). Beyond the Matrix, Canvas of Life, Solitarty Ground aso

    So many myths perpetuated about Simone and Floors friendship. Epica founder and guitarist Mark Jansen around 20 years ago was in the band 'After Forever' with Floor, Simone was Mark's girlfriend at that time, that is how Floor met Simone.
    all of those stories of them growing up together, being roommates or attending music school together are untrue

    • @rolsen1304

      Ehh there's videos of them as young girls goofing around in a small apartment, trainging together singing, playing piano and so on. WTF you on about?

      @@rolsen1304 you do know Floor has a sister right. Plus those videos of them playing piano was when floor did revamp with was around 2007-2012 the time when Mark forgave them for kicking him out of After Forever

      Young women yes, young girls no, this is Oct 2010 the day before Simone joined Floor onstage to sing 'Sweet Curse' with Floors band Revamp, Floor almost 30, Simone almost 26yrs old, at this point they had known each other for around 10 years, completely consistent with my original comment

    • @cancelled_user
      @cancelled_user 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rolsen1304 I think Floor had to be in her late 20s, maybe she was 30 in that video, so not really so young girls :)

    • @franshinlopen2166
      @franshinlopen2166 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rolsen1304 Link please? Your claim is totally ridiculous to me. Floor is four years older than Simone. At that age that is a huge difference. I have been following their careers for over twenty years as a fellow Dutch person including reading the Dutch metal magazines, and I have never ever heard of this beside people spouting off on the Internet.
      Apocalypse (later After Forever) was formed in 1997 by Mark Jansen and Sander Gommans. Very young Floor auditioned as a backup singer and left the audition as the female lead singer. Sander and Floor hooked up a couple of years later. Sander was more of a progressive metal kind of guy, while Mark was totally symphonic/black metal. Due to the musical differences, Sander forced Mark out of the band because he was tight with Floor. Mark in this timeline hooked up with the disturbingly young Simone. So Simone involved with Mark went to live with Floor who had repudiated Mark is absolutely ridiculous. Simone and Floor maybe met through Mark, or maybe through Amanda Somerville.

    Simone can sing low. She's just released a TH-cam video singing 'Part of your World' from Disney's 'The Little Mermaid'. She also sings low on Ayreon's ' This Human Equation' as well.

  • @renejensen7799
    @renejensen7799 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Simone can do low range as well, you wont hear it in many Epica songs, as the songs only get what they need right, and often its best to keep Simone on the high scale for the project i think.. and let Mark hit the lows..
    Epica and Nightwish is also 2 of my favorite bands, i have listened to all their songs, many times, so keep em coming, and i will watch it!
    This song for me is one that have climbed on my Epica playlist, as i listen to it more times, it one of those songs that really last a long time, and you can listen to again, and again.. 9,5/10

    Guys, one more thing. Since you usually pause videos quite a lot, can you please rewind back at least 5 seconds before you resume playing? Otherwise you lose the flow of the song. You can rewind easily simply by pressing the left arrow on your keyboard.

    Unleash the Archers is Canadian. Epica is Dutch. I still think for Epica you should do Sacta Terra which has no growls/screaming and is with Floor. And it has a full orchestra accompaniment.
    I also mentioned Sabaton before. The drummer for that band is actually married to Floor.

      @@ArvoR maybe so for those of us who enjoy they harder side of things. But maybe Chris and Dan might like it more because Mark's harsh vocals aren't in this. And that would be their opinion just like this may not be your favorite is also your opinion. And the best part is differing opinions are OK 👍.

    • @cancelled_user
      @cancelled_user 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@samuelengle3773 The thing is, even guys from Epica said that Sancta Terra is not their typical sound. In addition to that, Floor being in that performance means that Floor fans always come to Epica reactions and they try to steer the attention back to Floor, since most of them don't care about Epica at all, just like they don't care about Ayreon. They only recommend songs with Floor and that's it.
      Epica have more songs without harsh vocals... Not only ballads.
