So I have a 4C TWA, I wanted to give my hair a break from heat so instead of blow drying before I installed my crochet braids, I did twists to and my hair was so much better to work with than completely shrunken. It was only half stretched but I learned the hard way that something is better than nothing 😂
Yessss don't make them too tight!! Learned that the hard way 🥴 you'd think it's something you would keep in mind when doing your own hair but I definitely didn't 😂

Great tips!!! And yes cousin having to stop cuz you ran outta hair is THE WORST!!! I actually went to a salon to have my hair braided when I was transitioning back to natural (before I said F it and went on and Big Chopped). She underestimated how much hair I had and advised me to buy less bags. Mind you I reiterated SEVERAL times the length and thickness of my hair when making my appointment, even sent her a pic.

I learned not to use the rubber band method at all it too heavy with the extensions
Gotcha. Definitely have to what’s best for you. You know your hair better than anyone. It works ok for me with jumbo styles. 👌🏾
Didn’t realize dipping wasn’t the thing to do...... all my life I been dipped lol but nice tip don’t wanna ruin the hair right when I finish it
Lol Dipping is definitely ok! Just the ends tho! Dont want to dry out your real hair! 🙌🏾

Another way to stretch your hair if you don’t want to put heat on it is to use curls formers.
Whew. That truly doesn’t work for me 😩😩😩 But if that works for you that’s definitely a great heartless option. I use the RevAir so thankfully I don’t have to worry about the heat damage factor when blow drying 🙌🏾

Girl that dipping the braids I keep saying that. I’ve seen people dip the hair so high and just sit it there. I’m like uhhhh your hair is in there. It’s frying it.
