Jason, I always enjoy watching your videos, as it feels like I am hanging out with my good pal, so much warmth and authenticity there are. Perhaps, also because a planned to some similar projects too, maybe not on the commercial level.
The port looks interesting, looking forward to see the bestehend l measurements. And the leather strap has a great design, little things make all the difference. :)

Yes he is one of the realest in headphones for sure I remember browsing his eBay store circa 2011 bro one of the more under appreciated creators with real legacy
The port Hole has be done Before from Beyerdynamic , Your idea is even better but it needs 2 more things . A) numbers on the rotation so the R +L driver have the shame opening. B) The rotation of the opening of the hole must be bigger so its easyier to have the shame opening . The smaller the rotation of the opening the harder to have exactly the shame opening and air inside ... more Air more Bass...
Yeh, I did a video on the custom one pro a while ago and I also had some old military headphone that had a slider to make them open... The iris is cool though ;)
I was thinking of some kind of clicker or something so you could count the clicks to tell how open you have them without having to take them off. I am not 100% certain but I think if you make the opening big enough the bass starts to go back down again.. This is just a proof of concept at the moment so hopefully I can do some proper testing soon
@@CustomCans Yeah thats a great idea , Clicks will help people a lot. I still can not understand why headphones doesnt have that bass port . ABout the opening yeah thats exactly like you said if it gets big enought its starting to be Open back with no sub bass at the end.

Honestly I would absolutely love to get that even tho I genuinely have no issues with the headband other than a little too much pressure but honestly the looks alone are worth it
Thanks, I think it makes the headband look better. Someone else asked if it would be possible to slim down the original padding so I may give that a go in another video when the head straps are ready.
Nice idea with the port hole! I'll definitely order the strap when available, i haven't used mine in months because of the headband issue.

I think it's hilarious that you were a vegan at one point because I don't find very many people in the hobby that happen to be vegan and so far you're the closest I've gotten. But yes, I hope you come out with a vegan alternative in the future. I've had a pair of he400se's collecting dust and I just don't know what to do with them so I figured your mod videos will inspire me to turn them into something more worthwhile. Keep up the good work.

a red leather one would be sweet to go with the edition xs. wonder if it would a ball ache to make metal versions of the plastic end pieces.
A red head strap would be easy enough. The cost involved in making the end parts in metal would be too high to make it worth while. It would cost almost as much to replace the whole headband
I'm stoked to get one of these for my XS. I really appreciate the work! I wonder what material would be best for a bald head? haha
If you go with the goat skin ones, they are suede on one side, that would be nice on that chrome dome ;)

Great design. I've got the XS and find the headband gets really uncomfortable after 30-40 mins, so would be really interesting in buying.

@@nickbdyI’m excited, maybe I’ll actually get the perfect fit on my xs now. I can wear it fine, but I can’t really adjust the yolks otherwise it’ll be a jawphone lol.
Love the strap idea. Have you considerea a black button on back on each side to just clip it on? (the front and outside would be super clean with the button facing backwards).
We did try a load of different ways of attaching it with poppers and hooks and stuff but this was probably the best and easiest to produce for us

We ship a lot to the US, It is a pretty civilised country with a half decent postal system so stuff usually gets to where it is supposed to be pretty reliably. Packages don't get shot at nearly as often as you would assume from watching the news ;)
But in all seriousness... Shipping to the US is much easier than a lot of European countries for us these days.
Nice one. I've bent my EXS headband too much and the fit sucks now, I wish there was a new headband mod 😭.
If the spring steel at the top is too loos now, this mod may help as it will help pull the sides in a bit. Or... I think we probably have a few half dismantled headbands knocking around and we could sell you a new one

I have an edition XS and looking for a more comfortable headband, and I am willing to give your product a go.
I live in Portugal, but I will be in Luton in June if transport is an issue.
By the way what are your toughts for a comparison between Sennheiser HD490 Pro Plus and the edition XS ? Looking for better imaging and soundstage, mainly for gaming and off course proper music listening.

Would love to try this comfort strap for my Edition XS... I think the Headband is the only issue i have with this headphone, the strap could ad a bit stability, which would be nice!

Yes, once we have figured out all the pitfalls with this one we will be able to make them for other headphones. If you know any popular models that could do with this, let me know.
The next headphones I don't need to buy will be the custom cans OG.

No - we will be trying a few different drivers on them but the HE400 drivers are a bit big for what I am trying to do
ahoy again, can you do a possible comparison to the edition xs please? As I'm torn between buying the xs and he400se with your grill mods. Was going to get the v3 anandas as their not much more cash, but not to sure on them as not heard much of them.
Yes I can do that. We are hoping to start stocking the Edition XS soon so I need to get to know them a bit better to see if there is any more goodness we can squeeze out of them

@@CustomCans i did see a vid from z reviews about pad swaps and using balanced headphone cable. and saw that fantastic flat cable you use, looks great worth it to save up for as it gives that aesthetic charm to a setup. im sure whatever i pick my zen air dac/zen can stack can run them. thank you again for listening out for newbies like me.

Functionality wise it looks great, aesthetically I think the chonk factor of the original headband let's it down though. Have you had a crack at de-chonkifying the headband? Could potentially be an optional step for people who get a bit more hung up on appearance.
I have had the headband apart and de-chonkifitation should be possible. When I have them ready for sale I will do a video on how to fit them and will try to do that then
