Great video! Interesting that you mention Whitfield Brooks. I believe that my 4th great grandfather Frank Barrington was a son of Zachariah Brooks. I believe Frank was enslaved by Zachariah, and at his passing, he was willed to Bethleland Brooks who was married to Daniel Bird. They were living in Jefferson county, Florida. Daniel Bird was said to have hired a Barrington slave overseer and oral history suggest that Frank got the Barrington name from him. I first find Frank in the 1870 census in Jefferson county, FL as a mulatto. The Barringtons are an illegitimate family of mine but they definitely are family. My half granduncle tested and he has a couple matches of cousins who descend from Zachariah. Very small cm matches but relevant. Maybe we are cousins Donya!
