Amazing to see Amphawa so quiet! The last time I was there (nine months ago) it took me almost an hour to find a parking spot for my car and the town was packed full of farangs and Thais walking around the markets by the river. Enjoy the solitude while it lasts, Chuck. This is a unique experience seeing Thailand in the raw. It may never be like this again. But then again, maybe this is what the future holds for us? Holidays in Thailand may become out of the reach of most tourists due to the high cost and inconvenience of flying, owing to what will be ever-increasing restrictions. Perhaps our only way to see Thailand will be through videos like yours? Lord, I hope not!
My wife and I went to Amphawa 5-6 years ago. We stayed a few miles away up the river from the market. We chartered a boat for us to get to the market and watch fireflies during the ride back to the hotel. Nice relaxing place, I remember.
Hi Chuck, interesting place been there before and looking forward to going back some day. I enjoy walking the markets and seeing all the stalls. Last time I visited I arrived by boat but next time I would like to stay there, plenty of accommodation available I see. Thanks for the video.
@@notime2bsad Your the man Chuck, the best vlogger in the beautiful Kingdom of Thailand. Christopher and I just love everything there: the people, the culture, sights, sounds and of course the food. Being stuck in a s**t hole (the UK) really puts a smile on our faces when we watch your videos. You and I have a lot in common buddy with a very similar sense of humour (UK spelling lol) so when ever I'm feeling down I've got to watch notime2bsad to put me in a fantastic mood. Chuck, I can't thank you enough. Please send our best regards to your better half Paige and hopefully we can all meet up next year but we will speak again before then. Take care my friend, Dr. Ted.
Sorry Chuck, forgot to mention your trip! You messed me up with the timing of the livestream haha no worries. The videos were brilliant, loved every one. The highlight was the Koh Samui series WOW that was just awesome and is definitely on my bucket list. So, again my friend well done and many and sincere thanks to you and Paige for sharing your wonderful experience. Keep safe, Dr. Ted.
Loved this episode of your journey, laughed alot on the objects being sold in stores. Looking forward to my next trip to Thailand. So many good places to see and visit, 30 days not enough time though.
Great video Chuck, missing you both already, I sure love those Floating Markets lots of food and souvenirs, say to mafia sorry we were not there yesterday evening but there is always a next time for sure Cheers a guys 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🍺🍺🍺🍺
Hello chuck and Paige. We laughed so much watching your vlog.Amphawa market look very interesting. Thanks for adding humour to your already great vlog.🤣🤣😂👏👏👍👍👍👍👍🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽Take care .
The blue flower is called Butterfly Pea. It can be used as a natural food colouring but it's mainly used to make tea with. I really enjoy your videos and the place you take us all on your road trips...
Thanks you two......(I’m not up to par right now and watching your daily video a little time to wonder and enjoy your side of the world......thanks again.
Man, I really enjoyed this video. The river, shops and food were awesome! I'm so jealous and envious. To travel Thailand without all the tourist is a opportunity of a lifetime! Happy trails to Chuck and Paige!
That restaurant looks good, reminds me a bit of one I went to in Ban Phaeo 30ish years ago. I was the first foreigner there I think, the waitress was scared to come near me and my food had to be passed down the table by my family.
Hi there Chuck and Paige Been there got the tee shirt , only farang in ampawa floating market , but where I go I'm the only farang most places , enjoy and have a great time Regards Davy
At the 28:45 mark, I like the fact you can get an egg (over hard/over easy) on the side at any time of the day. I got to have eggs for breakfast but, at a bare minimum eggs to eat daily. That's one of my food addictions. Great video Chuck&Paige!
That is funny store you stop by. That river must be quite dirty, I would be afraid to eat any food from the floating market. I cannot believe the guy was swimming in that water.
Very cool ! I really enjoyed this video, lots to look at. It's been a great trip, thanks for sharing Chuck and Paige!!!! Someday I will be living the dream like you! For now, I will just live through you.
Why I love Thailand. No need to walk in the sun🥵 and fan everywhere. Not the same thing if I walk my country in the shade. Love to eat inside Thailand and outdoors at night
I can’t believe how empty the market was, lucky you but I also feel so bad for the merchants, everything looked so delicious now I have to make dinner. Thanks for sharing Chuckee, many blessings to you, Paige and family 🙏🏼 Cheers 🍻
Oh I remember that feeling well lol. It makes for a nasty, burnt rash - ouchie! The Joy's of a humid climate. It gets me in Istanbul on the odd occasion. Never quite found a workable remedy. So any advice will be welcomed 😊
Hey Chuck, we went there in 2008 and of course it was a hell of a lot busier! Were the boats not running as I couldn't see much activity on the river. We went on the river just before sunset and it was amazing, busy, noisy but a great experience!
We are due to go in October but I doubt we will be allowed. Anyway thinkin I don't want to go if every where is like a ghost town and everyone looks down beat! Thanks Chuck
Hey Chuck and Paige ,i love watching you guys ..But it's getting to me how this virus is hitting Thailands economy , and the more i watch your latest video it's obvious how it's hitting them ..No tourists ..If i'm honest it's starting to get me down even tho the places you visit are amazing ,but i just can't get my head round the lack of tourists ..so so sad ..I don't care about my next holiday now (i did a few months ago ) it's so heartbreaking
Hey, Not a bad beer that Beechworth pale ale, it's from Victoria in Australia and not a huge brewery. I'm very surprised you found it over there to be honest..
hello Mr. Chuck and lovely Paige, verry nice and colorfull Vid, tumbs up! I miss Thailand... Have you ever been in the Golf of Thailand to watch the Bryde Wale? You can see them between September to December. We have been there, but i do not remember the place. Anyway, it was a verry new corner of Thailands Coastline, and we eat so good seafood there ;=)) Sawadee khaa
if they did I don't think anybody would go there Thai people are very picky about what they eat and very clean and hygienic as well. Just need more education on Environmental cleanliness
Right, I pee in my back yard like my dogs. I have a eight foot security fence. I knew everyone would leave when a Texan came to town..It’s a miracle throw that fish back 5555
Just don't fall in that toilet river! Dairy Queen it ain't but, that cone looked delicious. Possible menu items: Chicken Gizzard and Monitor Lizard or Monkey Hips and Potato Chips. Lol, love your videos!
I am reading Thailand and SE Asia is seeing a drought more severe than 40 years. Is the Amphawa so close to the Gulf of Thailand that when there is a drought like this the river gets that low? The level came back up but it seems that is the seawater high tide coming back into the fresh water areas. Just curious.
Hello, would you be able to tell me where the best place to take my Thai family in Phuket? 8 adult and one child. The family comes from Sukhothai so we don't know the south.

Beautiful place this and even better at night time

Wow Chuck, the market walk was fun, like a glimpse back to old school Thailand (circa 1980)
You must be the first customer buying the dried fruits because the seller petted her merchandises with the banknote you paid. It's for the luck.
It must be so
you're little MJ had me cracking up! like out loud!!!
Great video and wow lots of little stores
Cool market tour. Thx
Classic Thailand...👍🇨🇦

Yah. People got sick a lot and died a lot. Tourists too, they died a lot. Don't you hear the news?
I like your video technique. The start of your videos with the calming, steady imagery is unique to the Thailand vbloggers and works well.
Congrats on 40 thousand plus subs!!
Market and lot of things to eat, looks like they are waiting for lot of tourist.
Hey, Chuck now this is an icecream in the ice cream fridge. Just kidding
Wonderful. Hate to see it so empty though...
All ur vlogs beautiful
U & ur GF best Thailand youtubers

I love ur videos, keep me busy as I m so bored on quarantine in the USA. Something to watch it 👍
I can’t believe how empty the market was, lucky you but I also feel so bad for the merchants, everything looked so delicious now I have to make dinner. Thanks for sharing Chuckee, many blessings to you, Paige and family 🙏🏼

Just like the river walk in San Antonio, .......:-))
Except missing awesome Mexican food in gigantic margaritas.
Just like the Ponte Vecchio in Florence, Italy. 555
Great vlog!! thanks!!!
That Water looks Dangerously Dirty.. WOW!!!!!!!!
Old man peed in the river said "river is cold and deep".
Feel bad for the merchants trying to survive with no one there but I would love to be there right now relaxing and checking it out , Cheers !
Glad it was moist "outside" and not "inside"!
HEY CHUCK AND PAIGE, GREAT VIDEO. HAVEN'T BEEN THERE YET BUT I THINK I'M GONNA HAVE TO PUT IT ON MY LIST. WOULD LIKE TO SEE THAT FLOATING MARKET.
Good video. Glad you have embraced speaking Thai. I am from Phanat Nikhom. If I can speak Thai/Laos I can't communicate with anyone in my village.
The Beechworth beer you drank is brewed a couple of hours away from Melbourne. Not a bad drop.
I was waiting to see the look on your face when you tasted the Bavarian Beer. I’m a beer drinker but can’t drink that stuff. Lol
@Dr. Feelgood so you have consumed every beer made in the USA? Which competitions have you judge, do you have any references?
Great video thanks for sharing. By the way there is a village outside Kohn Kaen where everyone has a pet cobra. You might visit there
Paiges eyes when you said “put hair on ya chest” 🤣🤣
Just at the beginning of video, they have floating market throughout Thailand!
16:50 LOL It sounds like you say "kon lek" (ก้นเล็ก)! I think that's why she gave you the eyes!!! 🤣🤣🤣
555 thanks chuck!
This was a good video
Good evening to you both, I don’t find the name of the sweet resort. Thanks so much showing your travels in nice videos. Like so much

The woodwork around the shops was nice, I really like wood buildings. Does the wood doors Warp much in the humidity?
While you were having dinner ,at 29.02 min I saw few Farangs , so you were not the only one . ::)))))))
When we were there the water level was much much higher!!
Yay!
Hey Chuck, we went there in 2008 and of course it was a hell of a lot busier! Were the boats not running as I couldn't see much activity on the river. We went on the river just before sunset and it was amazing, busy, noisy but a great experience!
Chuck, I think the wood work in that village is impressive. Maybe some carpenters on here can offer a more keen observation.
Ayutthaya! If you have the time, drop in! There's beer in the fridge and food in the pantry. "Mons BnB" on Google maps!
The river water level is so low despite its raining season? Looks dirty and not inviting.
We are due to go in October but I doubt we will be allowed. Anyway thinkin I don't want to go if every where is like a ghost town and everyone looks down beat! Thanks Chuck

22:53 you missed a very good beer La Trappe from Holland ;-)) A special abbey beer
Ha,my good night and sweet dreams Video on the edge of the new day. OMG, 8:35. You couldn't pay all that wood nor the woodwork here in the UK.
when this covid is over, i'm gonna go Amphawa

Dale Alyea, gee I hope not😝. Didn’t Chuck say the pee from the urinal goes into the river?
I have the same elephant reserve T-shirt as Paige's.
Great video. I haven't been there in a couple years. Great food there. I wish I would have found the beer place when I was there lol.
Yeah you know Paige spotted that from the other side of the river
Right, I pee in my back yard like my dogs. I have a eight foot security fence. I knew everyone would leave when a Texan came to town..It’s a miracle throw that fish back 5555
cool story bro :)
Is this a new camera? Footage has a nice warmth to it color wise
Bavaria is just water, same same as Heineken :-) You should try Belgian beer the best in the world :-)
gosh that water looks terrible. you would think rainy season would clear it up, but does not appear to be happening.
Just don't fall in that toilet river! Dairy Queen it ain't but, that cone looked delicious. Possible menu items: Chicken Gizzard and Monitor Lizard or Monkey Hips and Potato Chips. Lol, love your videos!

OMG, at 22:19 is that a person swimming in the polluted river 😳 ? I hope he has a good immune system.
Looks like Scene from movie Bankock Dangerous with Nick Cage was filmed .
