With all the new bbcores out in the last year or so, it’s time to put the band back together (maybe over the holidays) and get JT, Cam, Trace and Zac to do a Bbcore bat madness… it’s been a minute.
For the price, the performance you got out of it, easily able to put a grip on to thicken/damper the handle & the color way/look being way better.... Hard to justify spending double the price for most people I'd assume.
Watching this back I wonder what older bats would do now. Hitting technique has gotten better and he's gotten stronger over the years. Interested in seeing if bats that didn't do as well during these tests end up doing better today.
I bought one for my son. He loves it, and so does everyone on the team swinging the same length. Apparently I bought a team bat! Did do the doubling up the grip, which definitely helped.
Damn, I had written it off because I assumed the mach ai had the same barrel shape and wall thickness variation. I wonder if it's actually different or maybe the extra swing weight does make all the difference Sometimes, the wall thickness variation fits a certain difference in distance from balance point to vibrational node. This is one reason why I never liked the omaha speed from a few years back. I am thoroughly impressed with rawlings for making a quality bat for such a cheap price point.
I purchased the Rawlings Clout AI for my son he's 14 and he tried to swing with the old grip on the bat it peeled off so I put a extra 0.5 grip he still didn't like it. So I decided to remove both grips and also the small taper that was on the bat replaced the taper with a pro taper then wrapped it with 1.8 grip then the 1.1 Ice Cream grip both by lizard skin now its like the bonesaber taper makes a big difference in the grip and handle.
From our understanding this is an entirely different bat - including different swing weight and a different barrel interior. Last year’s 5150 MOI was a 9650 and this is about a 9300.
Interesting. The black 2021/2022 5150 is completely different from the red 2023. The red 2023 is much less end loaded, has more pop and a bigger sweet spot. The red 2023 bat has the same end cap as the Clout and sounds like the Clout. It has “Red” alloy. We will pick up a Clout and try it out. Rohan hasn’t liked the feel of the Atlas for some reason. He’s Voodoo one all the way, but the red 5150 is his backup.@@baseballbatbros
Just got mine ordered after my end cap popped out of my 2023 select power. The Louisville 2022 solo was my favorite bat of all time and feel like the clout Ai may be the closest thing to that I can find now. Have gone through 3 solos and 1 select power in the past year of college baseball and have had enough of Louisville reliability problems. Fingers crossed Rawlings has it figured out 🤞

5150 was definitely underrated. Swung the Omaha cb750 playing with BESR, then senior year 5150 when we switched to BBCOR. Hit rockets with the 5150! Really good for an original BBCOR when most of them were awful. We got an Easton Omen and it was so dead before it broke. One piece all the way!
K now this bat rammed its way into my list of bats I want to swing in '24. Right now I'm between a 34" voodoo and a 34" select... but now I'm leaning toward this in a 34"... I'm so torn. But then again I swung a 33.5" goods in the spring and loved it, so a 34" goods also could be a possibility. Would love to swing it with you guys to test some bats lol!

Hey Will, I’m looking at getting a new BBCOR my two options are the VOODOO ONE and the Clout AI, I just have a few questions if you or anyone else could answer me that would be great. So basically the questions are is the barrel better and bigger on the Voodoo or the Clout and also would you warrant spending the extra $100-$150 for the lighter swing weight of the Voodoo rather than getting a Clout?

Yes 34” if he is comfortable. At 6’3” a 33 may not give as much plate coverage as he needs too. He needs to be able to control the 34. Try a Voodoo one 34.. or an Atlas 33.5”

Due to my excitement, I just met the Amazon driver at the curb to grab my box from him. As I walked inside, my Wife asked, “what’s that? It’s a bat isn’t it?!” I replied with, “Yup!” I just unwrapped the new 2025 Rawlings Clout AI BBCOR 31/28!!! I will say though, I did this wrong; I got a smaller bat for my 6th graders. Being that this is a power bat, I probably should’ve gotten a different bat for them to develop contact, while getting a 33/30 for my 8th graders, being that they’ll be the ones with the power.
My son is 13 and very good contact hitter and swung a 30/22 last year...I want him to swing 31/28 what good lightweight bat do you guys recommend... Bonesaber hybrid or Clout AI
Clout Ai and Bonesaber Hybrid are both heavier than the VooDoo one which is what i'd recommend for a lightweight bat. However both of those bats are fantastic as well.

I’ve been using my 2018 quatro for around 3-4 years now, and I think I can finally replace it

Rawlings bought Easton. Rawlings bats are better now and Easton gloves are better now.

Amazon is still selling the Stinger Guardian BBCOR for $199.99 -- $50 less than the Clout. The Guardian also has a better handle and taper.
