Coastal CA always has the cool fog going on during this time of the year because of the shifting ocean currents. I was surprised when I was out there and saw it myself, but it's normal for this time of the year. Not sure if it extends all the way up the coast however. Glad you are having a great trip!
Hello Ambassadors What a funny video this was. "" Which bridge is that?" Chris: " the other bridge " 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 And Chris is asking Marianne " why are we whispering?" " The bird is a mile away"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. I don't know you guys but I am still cracking up here..I am so glad that I follow your videos and do lucky to meet you. I have never imagined that California would be that cold...39 F!!! Have a safe trip yo North. Love from everyone in FL💗💗💕💕🇹🇷🇹🇷👍👍
Absolutely enjoyed your video. What a inspirational content you have created for us to witness your journey and see the far corners of the planet. Sending much love and happy exploring.
Great video, and we got to hear Marianne’s seal bar! (I heard her turkey gobble on Mr and Mrs Adventure) Great ear. I’ve always been in a hurry traveling through northern CA. Next time, I’ll take my time and travel the road of giants. I saw some charring on the trees and remember sadness during the CA fires a few years ago when I learned some of the sequoias did t make it. Be well and safe travels.
That's the other bridge!!!! (The Bay Bridge by the way) Way toooo funny!!!! Now you are traveling in my part of the world. The US West Coast. I'm in Washington, but lived in Northern California as a child. Fun to see places I have so many special memories!!! THANKS!!!
Avenue of the Giants is such a stunning drive! My husband and I were just there last November and we had a wonderful time! So glad you got to enjoy it! 😊💚
I can just SEE it on Chris's face, how important it was to get to the Golden Gate Bridge! It's iconic and feels like a distinctive milestone. Your spot for the overnight was definitely...bracing. We don't tend to linger there, the natives! (I lived there for 20 years).
Was beautiful weather when I went it was may time boiling hot but that's not normal they said a lot of fog shame you never went alcatraz yes Chris good film . X
Yes! "The Birds" was shot on location and set in Bodega Bay. Good thing the pelican in this clip was a good distance away ! Ha ha. Looks like a lovely spot to sleep if you haven't seen Hitchcock's famous great film.
I really enjoyed your drive today. Highway 1 is my most favourite drive and I've visited quite a few countries. My husband and I have hitch-hiked it from San Diego right up to Washington, twice and we have driven it 4 times. I always say I could spend my life just driving up and down the highway. I prefer it heading north tho because heading south the cliffs are 2000 feet of hair-raising driving. Camped on so many of those beaches...I am missing it so much that I may have to set out to drive it again 🙂
What a fabulous adventure! Took me right back to when I took my kids through The Avenue of the Giants - I was just as thrilled and excited as you were. Can't wait until I finish my van and can get on the road to these amazing places again. Safe travels!
as usual a great vid. either they are big trees or you have shrunk. great to see you are still having fun. watch the money when your good lady sneaks out after dark to the casino.
The Scenery is stunning, thanks for showing us what we are not able to see in person, love your humour, now the elephant in the room (camper) why is Chris driving? 🍀
The Redwoods are amazing!! Mrs. P. and I dipped over the border into California on our honeymoon, but only to Crescent City before heading to I-5 and home -- it's time to go back! Not sure where exactly, but the redwood forests are where they filmed the parts of Return of the Jedi on the moon of Endor (with the speeder bikes and the Ewoks). ❤️❤️😎👍👍
There’s a saying, the coldest winter I’ve ever experienced was a summer in San Francisco. And that’s the Bay Bridge which connects to Treasure Island. The area is where Robert Louis Stevenson came up with the book Treasure Island. You’ll see street names like Silverado Trail (Long John Silver).
Another great video making me jealous! Muir Woods I think is not far from you where you can hike amongst the Giant Redwoods! Most of what you saw are small compared to some where you can drive a vehicle through the middle of it! The Bridge you mentioned is the Oakland Bay bridge a Double Decker one! I told you it would be freezing with the fog in! I was up there with just a thin shirt on after leaving 90f Temp at San Anselmo! Brrrrrrrrrrrr 🤣🤣When I first went there it was the 50th Anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge 1987, I just missed all the Celebrations! First night there had a small Earthquake but didn't realise! I have since been on Alcatraz. Was the Casino run by First Peoples (Native Americans)?
I remember being in awe of that same redwood forest as a teenager with my aunt. By the way, I’m ordering a TomTom, thanks to your advertising. Thanks for showing it to us!
We're in the US now touring SW US. Not sure how many National Parks you're going to visir but we putchased an annual pass for $80 we've saved over $150. Recommendations, Yosemite, probably too late now. Death Valley, Seguaro NP, Grand Canyon, Zion, Carlsbad Caverns and drive down the 95 in Utah, amazing. We also did the meteor crater near Winslow. We did the go and stand on the corner in Winslow, Arizona and took it easy.
Great video. San Francisco is in my opinion the prettiest city in the USA! Something that a lot of people are not aware of, is there are several "Sequoia Big Tree" parks in California. I visited one of the Sequoia Parks back in 1981 with my relatives, seeing the video or pictures is ONLY half of the experience, it is almost spiritual to walk among them!

But I took a trip by greyhound many years ago a cross Canada to quebec beautiful beautiful beautiful country you will see. I have had the TomTom Camper Sat Nav for more than a year now. It’s ok but takes me down C roads here in the UK and doesn’t know the difference between them and A or B roads, it seems. These can be single track roads with high hedges where max speed is 35 mph and getting into 4th gear is rare. Bloody annoying as it’s hard to turn around in our 6m Globecar camper. Also beware updating files, as you really need a fast download or it takes hours, and if you run out of time (when touring) you’ll find all the files are deleted and you don’t have any maps to use till you can get to a decent wifi.
Thanks for the tips Charles - we have not had this experience with this model - we are going to hopefully be working more with TomTom so we will pass on this feed back 👍
TomTom GPS is excellent but customer service is bad. I emigrated to Australia from the UK 6 years ago & the website will not let me change my address out of the UK. No problem, I thought, I’ll contact them. The only contact available was media, so I messaged them. Nobody bothered to reply despite repeated attempts & asking them to pass my details to sales. Consequently, I no longer deal with them & I use a competitor with better customer service. Enjoy California, I love the place although I shall never get to visit the USA again.
