So nice to see and listen to Owen's commentary on all your great finds. The treasure is not in what you found but the memories of the time you spent together 💓
That hammer at 1:40 is an old hammer used to manually hammer in railroad spikes in the old days. That door at 2:41 is a door to the journal box on an old railroad car.
That thing at 6:47 is the knuckle on the end of the drawbar thats the coupler on a railroad car or engine. It replaced the ring and pin coupling on RR cars and Locomotives around the early 1900's.
@8:25 saw that when you caught it, pretty sure thats an old door lock, you have to push the lil button and turn to unlock, frustrating lil thing, most likely why you dont see em anymore 😉
The scrape pile is ginormous. Thanks for another great video, Tyler you and Owen take care and have a great week. You got to get your trailer ready now before weather turns. 😊
1:36 That is a railroad spike hammer. Thin to fit between the tracks. The handles snap all the time because they are hard to control being so thin. Saw it on a vid once.
Your door or hinge piece as you called it is just that. It is the cover from a oil journal on an old train car that the bearings had to have oil on them at all times! I don't believe they are even used any more except maybe on older antiques train cars.
That's a huge scrap pile. You probably have around 12,000 lbs. Owen is a very hard worker. He looked like he had alot of fun emptying the back of the truck. Time to go back out to find more treasures. I hope you have a great day my friend ❤️🙂⚘️🚜🔪🛠🧲.
Hey Tyler. That a huge load of... crap. Lol @ 1:40 you have a rail spike hammer. One person set the spike in place and the guy with the hammer came along and pounded it in. @ 2:32 you have the door for the firebox on a steam locomotive. The door was flung open and the fireman shoveled coal into the fire. The date was when the door was cast. To be clear, it was the Chicago & Northwestern RR, not central. @ 6:42 you have the glad-hand half of a coupler from a train car. @ 7:00 I believe you have the handle of of an old manual brake stem from a really old train car.
When it comes time to turn in the scrap pile you should check with the recycling company if they would bring a dumpster for you to fill, and the pros and cons of it
Yes, the item you said looks like a double hammer,is actually correct and its from the rail road used to drive rail road spikes your favorite item of all time. Yes, its so small and narrow so when it was driving spikes it would fit between the side of the rail and anything else that was on the opposite side of the spike. Cheers. 😊
- The box with the hole(s) on the end? The box is a Rat/ Mouse Trap. It's for a commercial use. Placed around the outside walls of buildings at ground level. Commonly spotted near trash dumpsters at restaurants & Grocery Stores.
Hey that door cover looks like it could be part of a bearing box. google-- railroad bearing box cover . Back in the day the bearing box had grease in it to lubricate the wheel bearings
I loved seeing all the scrap metal. I’m interested to know when you are going to take all that stuff to the scrap yard and how much you guesstimate you’ll make!!! LOL 👍😉🤗
Can't wait till you get a trailer!!! Good for you for waiting till the prices are higher...sure it's alot more work now...but that will change when you get the trailer!!! Love watching you and Owen!!
Have you ever thought of looking into a used dump truck? You could fill it up with what you find, drive it to the scrap yard, rise the bed to empty it.
The box is most likely an electrical box. You might find a plug or switch inside that controls serious equipment or something like the plug ins at an RV park. Holes are for the in and out conduits.
Wow, that pile is getting big!! By the time you get to the scrape yard, you're going to have some nice pocket change. Owen is so adorable! He chatters away as he helps you unload. He's an awesome little helper. Can't wait for the next video. 😊
Good àfternoon sir and Master Owen, great video seeeing all the things you have collected, thats a lot or scrap and it was great to see your lil man helping out. Pls have a great day and night both father and son.
Hi Tyler and Owen 😊❤Wow……Owen is picking up some heavy stuff there. You have an awesome little helper there Tyler. I can not wait to see how much you have stacked up there. Hopefully you can take it in when prices are pretty high. Do you think heavy duty shocks on your truck would be a good investment? Sometimes I can’t see the back end riding low. Thank you for the video. And I prefer seeing that stuff out of the waterways. And I know it will be going to the scrap yard where it should have been taken in the first place. Stay safe my friends 😊❤Paula from Michigan
The one piece that you had that you tossed into the keeper pile is one part of a type of door lock that was circa 1950. I just Googled and they are still made today! I do hope you can restore to some degree the piece that you have. Good luck and happy fishing!!!
Hey Tyler, before you start your NEXT stack, after you get this One cleaned up, finally, you might wanna start NOW, shopping online for either used or NEW Dump trailers with a cover tarp, maybe a 16ft , especially since you live out in the country where you might run into some snakes hidden, building homes in the middle of your scrap pile, they LOVE those kinds of environments with grass and weeds and you wouldn't have to DOUBLE HANDLE it once you pulled it off your truck 🚛 you could just dump it at the SCRAP YARD and it would slide right OUT, make it EASIER ON YOU 😎✌️👍😁🔥🔥🔥
You should find a cheap dump truck somewhere to toss that stuff in. You should be able to find a cheap one that isn't good for working with but would be okay for using once in awhile
I would would guess $500 tops. I agree with taking it to scrap yard instead of your Yard. Unless the price goes down & you want to wait for It to go up.
Great load of scrap metal buddy! But I do think half of the stuff you are keeping is also scrap too. Take all of your scrap into the scrapyard and use the money to help fund a trailer. Rob from the 🇬🇧🍺🍺
That's a pretty nice pile of scrap man. Do they do short steal at the scrap yard? I know they do around here where I live and that pays a lot more than tin. And I'm pretty sure there paying you for tin.
Spike maul big end to set the spike the smaller one to drive it Cool. It’s Part of a train car knuckle. Old door lock. Damn gotta load dude’s. Hi Owen.
Nows the time to sale you e-bikes. And with that money. Buy yourself a good 10' trailer. Haul all your junk. Make some money.. Then mow that area clear. Then, everytime you come back home. Park you truck next to the trailer and unload.
How much scrap weight do you think we have? 🤯 Thank you for watching! ❤️
@@TheFisher looks like you’re going to need a dump truck🤣
I think by the time you take it to the scrapyard you are going to have between 3000 and 4000 lbs.
@@PINKMAGNET1I think we are probably over 10,000 lbs already 😅
Don't know, but Owen sure is a good worker. ♥️👍
@@TheFisher 25000 you will probably need a roll off box brought there. Or you will be taking a whole lot of trips.

The hammer at 2:00 is actually a mallet. The indentations held either rolled up rawhide or rubber.
The scrape pile is ginormous. Thanks for another great video, Tyler you and Owen take care and have a great week. You got to get your trailer ready now before weather turns. 😊
Loved listening to Owen share his knowledge about the scrap and watching of memories being made. ❤❤❤
Your mini-me, Owen is so adorable. Making memories with his dad is priceless!❤

Those piles of scrap are good attractors for vermin & snakes, so be careful!
Wonderful to see Owen helping his dad out unloading the truck. Great video😊
My thoughts too
1:59 Rubber ended mallet. Rubber long since gone.
the hammer piece is a vintage railroad spike hammer made specifically for hammering rail road spikes

that double ended hammer is for driving spikes.
Absolutely true
It’s called a spike maul. For hammering spikes into the railway tracks. For track workers (Maintenance of Way).

That is a massive mountain of stuff that was polluting our waterways. It's been fun watching you and Owen fish it all out. See you guys next time.
At 1:38 the doulbe headed hammerhead. It's a...

Owen is really growing up and changing. Great guy.!
Hi Tyler the piece with knob on & word stamped on. Looks like the door locks we have in the uk. If it is the word stamp will be Yale. X

:1:43 Railroad spike hammer 6:39 train car coupler both are worth MONEY Go look at a train car to see this.
When you start with a magnet and accidentally become the local scrapyard 💰
🤣
Great to see everyone having fun off loading there is 3.5 ton there handy
8:20 is the type of lock that opens with a skeleton key. It is the part that fits on the inside of the door.
He is such a good helper
When the prices spike take it all in, Tyler! Hey Owen❣️ Watching from East Texas 😊
Thanks for watching Lana! ❤
Reminds me of the garbage pile that came out of the river spirit in Spirited Away.
LOVE Owen’s shirt! GO PACK GO! 💚💛💚💛
That big hammer is very old railroad memorabilia cherish that one

I just bought my 1st brute magnet kit used your coupon code :)
That "sledgehammer " at the begging of the video could be a old railroad hammer they used to hammer in the spikes with
The long double sided mallet i think is for hammering in railroad spikes.
Wow Tyler.. Mount
Rustmore. .!lol..love from Scotland ❤
lol
All the dirt and rust leftovers in the back of your car !! It's all good for the garden love from Australia fiona ❤️ ♥️
😊 that little piece with the words on it is a door lock it's very old
6:30 pretty sure that's the clamp on the end of a train car. The wider rounded ends slip together and lock kinda like a handshake.
The hammer with the broken handle is what the used to pound down rail spikes down

Yes, it's a Yale lock, pretty common in the UK.
@geddesjimmy they are still sold in Canada too... 🙂
As an Aaron Rodgers fan I approve of this video.
All ways enjoy seeing Owen and he dose big boy work 👏👍🏻

A dump trailer would be perfect! 💪
I love when Owen is in the videos
The one plate in the beginning looks like a mask! 😊
You are going to need a forklift when the time comes to move the pile to the scrap pile! Thanks for the video.
That long hammer is for driving railroad spikes
Yup
I can’t stop watching for even a second I’m chained to your videos!! I was on livestream 1 and 2
The hammer-like object missing its handle looks like a railroad tie plate hammer used to drive the nails into the tie.
The big hammer you found is for driving railroad spikes !!
The first thing was a motor level shim to make the motor and pump to make them level
You should find a cheap dump truck somewhere to toss that stuff in. You should be able to find a cheap one that isn't good for working with but would be okay for using once in awhile
Love that shirt Owen!! Gooo Packers!
That hammer is an old fashion spike hammer.
Scrap prices are super low right now.
Owen is really working hard ☺️
Great content. Just keep being real and people will always follow you.
Your little mini you sounds just like you when you are out on the boat…
Good going lots of stuff
You're gonna need a massive trailer to haul all that scrap to the scrap metal place !!! Better get 1 soon cause that pile is getting enormous !! LoL
Might end up having to be 2 trips 🤣
That is a hammer used to drive spikes for railroad spikes in old time way
May God bless you and Owen.
8:26 is a old pad lock
that thing at 8:16 is a door lock
😮that sure is a lot of scrap ! I am glad your son likes helping you do this stuff. Your gonna need a big trailer for sure ! 😮
Looks like an old an fashion lock for a door
That is definitely a train coupler they joined together
That looked like a antique railroad hammer to me (sledgehammer) cool stuff
❤️
I love your farm. I'm looking for one on northern Alabama
You need to get that trailer built so you aren’t doing so much double work.
The next one after the hammer looks like a slider to let out coal from a train cart
Owen has had a growth spurt.
Have you thought about getting a sandblast cabinet for cleaning the stuff you want to keep?
I’ve seen those before that might be nice to have 🤔
I would would guess $500 tops.
