This is still one of my top songs from RV. Gosh, Wendy's low registers really amazes me so much. We are used to her belting highnotes and even mixing her head voice and chest registers for highnotes and I loved that coz she's using her wide vocal range well! But her low registers sounds so sultry and I cant stop listening to it.
It's actually really interesting how you mention that it feels like RV are just letting you look at them and fall in love with them, without them actively trying, because music critics have mentioned that they are definitely a group that doesn't ask you to fall in love with them. They just show you what they got and whether you like it or not, well that's your prerogative. Even Red Velvet themselves mention about how if their fans need a break from them to take it and when they're ready come back because they'll always be here performing and doing what they like.
This is my favorite velvet track by them. It's sad that not many people enjoy this one because it's not as earcatching as their other songs like Red Flavor, Peek-a-Boo or Bad boy. The good thing about Red Velvet music is they sing around their songs. They do creative harmonies, adlibs and vocal acrobatics and they can change their vocal texture depending on the song like how they change into dreamy and whispery vocals in Butterflies and into Reggae RnB quality in Sunny Side Up. There are alot going on with the vocals not just the instrumentals. Their Background Vocals are always delightful to listen to
