Red Velvet (레드벨벳) is a five-member girl group under SM Entertainment. They debuted as four on August 1, 2014 with the single "Happiness". Yeri was added to the group in March 2015.
The group's name represents its concept, defined by two different images, "Red" and "Velvet". "Red" signifies their vivid and bold image, whereas "Velvet" reflects their classy and toned-down side. Songs like "Happiness", "Ice Cream Cake", and "Dumb Dumb" falling into the "Red" concept, in contrast to "Be Natural", "Automatic", and "One of These Nights" which falls into the "Velvet" concept, with "Russian Roulette" and "Rookie" falling in both "Red" and "Velvet" concepts.
This is the longest kiling voice episode and they even edited out some songs likw so good, rbb and birthday. And they still have more songs to show. Seulgi even asked if we think they need to do a part. Well yes they need too hahaha. Thats how great vocalists they are.

the group got the beat has a handful of the best female singers in sm in one group ranging from generation 1-4. wendy and seulgi are a part of got the beat as well as karina and winter from aespa. taeyeon and hyoyeon from girls generation (2nd gen) and boa (soloists gen 1). basically an sm female super group

@@Jennielrc Red Velvet is my favorite group, and Wendy is my favorite within the group. But I think calling the other members "meh" is a bit much. Seulgi could be a main vocalist in other groups. Joy's vocal tone is unique and favored by other idols and music critics. And Irene and Yeri are competent singers - they only suffer in comparison because they're in the same group as Wendy, Seulgi, and Joy.

Wendy indeed is in a league of her own in K-Pop lol, she was already THAT good before even going to South Korea as a trainee. You can check out her pre-debut videos of her singing when she was still in the US, it’s pretty insane!
You specifically asked for other vocalists from SM, but outside from this company there are many amazing vocalists as well! I usually don’t follow girl groups much so I can’t name many, but among my favorites I would give a particular shout-out to Ladies’ Code’s Sojung. Unfortunately the group is more known because of their tragic car accident, but their music is *everything* and they deserve to be remembered for that. Sojung specifically has such a distinctive sultry and mature vocal tone with an incredible technique!! Highly recommend checking her and Ladies’ Code out like their songs “Pretty Pretty”, “So Wonderful” and “Galaxy”!
If you like Broadway, Mamamoo’s early stuff like “Piano Man”, “Aah Oop!”, “Mr-Ambiguous” are heavilyyy inspired by it (great songs btw)! Also Red Velvet’s “La Rouge” takes inspiration from the Moulin Rouge if you haven’t listened to it yet 😊

The original rap line are irene and joy. But when yeri joined, she became part of rap line and joy as sub vocal but sometimes she also do some rap in their song. Then when they did chill kill, they wanted to change it a bit, you can hear some raps from wendy, seulgi and joy, and hear some vocals from irene and yeri. Because They wanted to showcase more of their talents.
Happiness is indeed their debut, but they only debuted as a 4 member group since their maknae, Yeri wasn't old enough to debut at the time. Ice Cream Cake is her debut song

Wendy is literally the best 3rd gen Kpop vocalist and nobody comes close to her. Only vocalists who top her are Taeyeon, Bada, Eunji. Taeyeon is another SM legendary vocalist. Even vocal role model for many young idols. Even Wendy looks up to her. She is the leader and main vocalist of legendary girl group Girls Generation (SNSD). She also has a very successful career. And has one of the best kpop solo discographies. You should check her out. You will not be disappointed. Taeyeon also has a Killing Voice with over 43 million views on it. You should check it out. One thing is guaranteed with Taeyeon which is top tier vocals.

Yes, Wendy is considered as the best vocalist of the 3rd generation in KPOP. In SM she represent the 3rd generation best vocalist with Taeyeon from the 2nd generation and Ning Ning from the 4th generation. Yeri & Irene are amazing with their lower register vocals, Wendy with her powerful belting, Seulgi with her beautiful siren like vocals and Joy with her pretty vocals which why RV is a perfect group since their vocals fits together so much when they are harmonizing.

SM main vocals are always on another level, they consistently produce some of the best vocalists of each generation. Taeyeon from SNSD and Luna from f(x) are amazing vocalists from 2nd gen
You should definitely listen to their song recording vlogs on their TH-cam channel. Wendy does a lot of the demos(guide) to the songs before the other members sing their parts. Probably one of my favorites when it comes to idol vocals.

May I humbly request that you check out the very first Killing Voice and the group it was created for - Mamamoo. You may be familiar with one of the members, Hwasa, but all four of these women are incredible vocalists individually and together. Easily on par with Red Velvet.

I was interested in RV (Red Velvet) from debut, but didn't follow them as a stan until Russian Roulette, so I am like you guys in that respect! In the early years my bias (favorite member) bounced between the technical skills of Wendy, and the flawless vocal timbre and visuals of Seulgi. Then I saw them in concert, and it was Joy, forever. Joy is like a living charm spell! Her amazing stage presence is life-changing!

I have been a Kpop fanatic since May of 2009, and I believe Wendy is in the top five female vocalists in the brief history of Kpop. You want to hear the best? Check out Eunji of Apink. I can't believe so few reactors cover Apink, the most prolific girl group of all time.
I don't know that Wendy has ever done plays, but allow me to humbly recommend getting on Netflix and watching Joy act in KDramas. She is an amazing actress. Most notably, Once Upon a Small Town (her best), and The Liar and His Lover. Also, you want to see Wendy in other ways, check out her video of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, and listen to her beautiful collaboration with Ricky Martin.

Cool Zimzalabim story. I was in the aquarium in Haeundae, a suburb of Busan. It is entered by a small building on Haeundae Beach, and goes under the ocean floor. There is an S shaped tunnel made entirely of thick glass, where the truly bestial sea creature reside; sharks, sting rays, barracudas, etc. The tunnels is arched and made of this glass so you feel like you are with them under the sea. The S shape hide the door on either end. Some exhibits you are told to be very quite, because you could disturbs the nervous system of the sea life. But rowdy beasts like sharks love loud noises. I had just finished the tunnel when I realized the PA system was playing Zimzalabim, and it had just reached the mellow bridge. I quickly backtracked to the center of the S, and arrived just in time for the loud EDM section. The sharks and rays were going bonkers, slamming into the glass! It was so thrilling that my hair was standing on end!
Don't forget to check out #Cookie Jar and Sappy, their two awesome Japanese releases. Also, some of their best songs were not in this compilation. Be sure to check out Power Up, Be Natural, Wish Tree (no video. Their original Christmas song), Really Bad Boy, and Umpah Umpah.
