it would be great if they put a library and have Morgan Freeman's voice read it or the lady that narrates God of war
***** that was my issue with the game. I enjoyed the gameplay but I didn't feel really engaged until Taken King was released, as I saw our actions brought down Oryx's wrath. We even got to learn of the Hive's origins.
Don't stop what you are doing. These videos are great and it's amazing how much depth this game actually has and how intricate they can actually tell this story. I just wish the game developers will start using this. The potential is so high.

I swear, these stories could be made into full games. No excuse for Bungie's delays on making new content. This story makes me feel "proud" to play as a guardian, but currently I just run and gun to grind in a world where I don't even know what happened to it really nor do I care (I have to make up my own stories to keep me satisfied). I won't ever forget that scene in year 1 when the astronauts discovered the traveler. It was beyond all of us and it was so captivating and beautiful. I want to play in that time period in the beginning. Even when I'm up in the tower, I look below the traveler onto the city wondering "what is it like?" I swear, this game could really have lasted 10 years if only they had planned the story time line right instead of continuing to add on a bunch of patch jobs.
I thought i was the only one who did that... & same with the astronaut cutscene. It makes you so curious doesnt it?

the only consistent thing on earth and in the lore constantly called 'scavengers' are the Eliksni. Eliksni are known more prominently as the 'Fallen'.
and it makes sense as it seems from the lore that the Fallen are the race that has been on earth for the longest amount of time excluding humanity and the guardians.
The question is what drove the Elenski into scavenging. Some guardians believe that the traveler did the same to them but abandoned them after their society collapsed
+Sir Nexuzio from what others say, it is a combination of this which you previously stated and what little of their society survived. when the darkness came for them, and the Traveler was not forced (speculation) to stay behind and protect them, the went after their 'Great Machine'. what they found, however was not a way of regain the Great Machines favor, it was that it had given its favor to a different race entirely.
so they resolved to get it back. however, they were on a planet lost to the same entity that had befallen their own. thus they scavenge to survive until they can hold the Great Machine....until they have the Traveler

Well according to all of the grimoire cards including the book of sorrows this is my conclusion. This is partially speculation. The fallen were a race visited by the traveler. They were blessed with technology and had a golden age like us. This is to prepare them for the darkness. But once the darkness comes and eradicates the civilization, the traveler flees. The traveler does this to every race. But some of the fallen survived. Their world was ravaged and their society broken. They resorted to piracy and vowed to regain the traveler. The traveler does the same to us though. When we start to fall at the hands of the darkness the traveler tries to flee. But Rasputin estimates the chance of survive if the traveler leaves and gets 0%. Rasputin shoots down the traveler and the traveler has no choice but to stay, floating above earth. The traveler somehow repels the darkness and uses its life force to do so. This is when ghosts are made to seek out guardians that can protect the traveler.

Careless Gamers here's one different approach:
So every day Rezyl would fight, build and protect. And every day a city grew beneath the giant. And every night he would think about all that was never said and stare intently at THE MOON above.
The noble man stood and the people looked to him. For he was a beacon (hope given form), yet still a man and within that truth there was a great promise. If one man could stand against the night, then so too could anyone-everyone.
In his strong hand held a "Rose" and his aura burned bright.
When the man journey on, the people remembered, in his wake hope spread. But the man had a secret fear. His thoughts were dark. A sadness crept from the depth of his being. He had been a hero for so long, but pride had led him sorrow's road.
The legend of Thorn is bound to the rise and fall of Dredgen Yor, a Guardian whose name is remembered with disgust and shame.
Rezyl Azzir held Rose and after that infamous night became Dredgen Yor holding Thorn.
It's too much coincidence Thorn's bounty starts at the Summoning Pits and all the lore about Dredgen Yor and now we found in the same place the ghost of Rezyl Azzir.
Most gamers think Dredgen Yor was a Warlock or a Hunter, but it's not clear what class he was, so he could be a Titan too.
*Grimoire Cards: Rezyl Azzir, Ghost Fragment Thorn and Thorn.
That's wat I was thinking
Azzir was long before Yor though. It's possible that Yor used Azzir's Rose but seeing as Yor was a Hunter not a Titan and that Yor existed alongside Ward who worked to expand the City after the Guardians had established the City as a safe haven. Also, Yor and Ward were both honored as legends in the Crucible, which was created by Shaxx post Twilight-Gap. No way it could be Yor.

Hiya, I was playing some of the vanilla strikes to level up my new Titan class. I was playing the Nexus Strike on Venus. Anyways, after destroying the Serviters (not sure if I spelled it right). I Was heading upstairs to the next part of the map. When I saw a screen still on that said the following

Actually, my first thought after reading the card about him was that he's the speaker and has lived a very long life because he's a guardian.

I just wanted to say in one of the grimoire cards it mentioned how FWC's mark has been found on golden age caves and areas and some belive they have been around since then

the concordat? old faction exiled from the tower for they're beliefs. Ulan Tan, he has a warlock Bond named after him, believed the vanguard were corrupt and evil. he started a faction with this belief, after a while Ulan Tan killed himself.
Damn what if all this lore was in destiny and there were more areas to explore like a fallout or gta map on every planet/ moon. Its all but a lost hope.

Rezyl Azzir, who wielded The First Curse, was tainted by Xyor the Betrothed on Luna and subsequently fell from grace and became Dredgen Yor. His 'cannon also transformed to become Thorn, which Dredgen first called Rose until his darkness altered his perception completely and he realized the weapon bore no flowers.
Noktis Ackerman Rose was the gun's original name. First Curse is also only the name of the replica and not the original gun, and it may not actually be a Rose replica.
