The fact that Charlie didn’t immediately suspect Edward was abusing her blows my mind. Like your daughter goes on one date with this guy, comes home and immediately runs away, and the next time you see her she’s in the hospital because she “fell down a flight of stairs and through a window”
I saw a post literally talking about this!! Because have you thought about twilight from Charlie’s perspective? His teenage daughter starts dating a guy. They go on a date after which said daughter comes home in hysterics, tells her father that they broke up and has to leave town. The next time he sees his daughter is in hospital - the Cullens cover story is that Bella went to see Edward and she happened to fall down two flights of stairs and wound up with life-threatening injuries. Bella apologises to her father and has done a complete 180; she’s decided to stay in Forks despite being hell-bent on leaving just hours before her “accident”. Charlie being suspicious of this is completely justified. New moon: things settle down a little, but Bella is obsessed with her boyfriend. She kinda withdraws from friends, even ones she’s known since childhood i.e Jacob, and for a while her life appears to revolve around Edward. Then, her 18th birthday - the Cullens throw her a party after which she returns with her arm stitched up and bandages, no explanation as to why. Then Edward leaves and bam. Complete withdrawal. Charlie had to watch as his daughter isolates herself, has recurring nightmares and stops seeing friends entirely for months on end. She seeks solace in Jacob which seems to take her mind off things temporarily, but she’s still not the same. Then out of nowhere she just LEAVES and returns with Edward. Things are apparently just back to normal. Eclipse: right back to where things were in the first place: Bella is obsessed with her boyfriend and doesn’t really seem to care about much else, and goes back to pushing people away from her who were there for her throughout her depression. Charlie tries to set healthy boundaries but ultimately realises that no matter what he says or does, Bella will always be wholly obsessed with this guy, despite putting her in dangerous situations then leaving her for months and sending her mental stability out the window. Just as things can’t get any worse, Bella tells Charlie that she’s engaged to Edward. Breaking dawn: Charlie gives Bella away on her wedding day. He isn’t happy about doing this and still doesn’t trust Edward (rightfully so). After the wedding, his daughter goes on her honeymoon and “falls ill.” He isn’t allowed to see her and hears that her health is slowly deteriorating, and naturally he fears the worst. The next time he finally sees his daughter, she looks and acts different. Not only this, but he now has an “adopted niece”?? The point is that Charlie is a cop. Not just a cop, but chief of police. He probably deals with cases on domestic abuse on the DAILY - and recognises abusive traits in Edward. He isolates Bella to the point of codependency, she mysteriously gets injuries and becomes “ill” without reason or logical explanation, she cannot cope without him in her life and falls into a depressive episode when he leaves her. Another thing abusers to in order to trap their victims is putting them in situations which would make it difficult for said victim to leave. This would explain the ridiculously young marriage, Bella legally binding herself to Edward and making leaving him 100 times harder. From Charlie’s perspective, you can understand why he would think his daughter was being abused and the abuser’s family was helping to cover it up

As a queer Twilight fan (and a Stephanie Meyer hater), the fact that Cindy laughed at all the memes warms my heart!!! Honestly I feel like she's two steps away from being an Emmett fan and wanting Rosalie or Alice or step on her.
I would read the AU where Bella out weirds Edward and they become friends and Bella ends up with Anna Kendrick's character if/when Cindy wants to write that.
I think there were lots of fantasy novels for teen boys to get into post-Potter, but less so for girls. Twilight really filled that market niche. Then there's the whole, outcast girls identify with outcast creatures element. Lindsay Ellis does a better job explaining that phenomenon than I can. Also, Kristen Stewart is definitely not a bad actress. It's just a very limited role. Also, I forgot that Suzie Crabgrass is in this movie.
I have watched this movie too many times and just recently found out Emmett when he walks into the cafeteria the first time is holding a ziplock bag full of boiled eggs. I have so many questions
Ok but like it does work with the way the Cullens understand food though lol. As in they don't. They literally just grab food, play around with it, and then throw it away. It's basically prop food because they can't eat it as vampires.
Actually really love the song, to be honest. I know it's from Twilight, but part of me can still separate it as the beautiful melody that it is. I feel like that for most of the soundtrack for all the movies.
ok but please continue this because i need cindy to react to the climax of breaking dawn: part 2, also known as the greatest cinematic moment of our lifetime.
apparently there was an indigenous actor willing to play jacob however the movies required him to cut off his hair, which was a big sacrilegious no-no in that tribe's culture, so that's why the actor playing jacob isn't indigenous
Such a bummer but also it’s not like universal that indigenous people won’t cut their hair. A. They shoulda been more accepting if their gunna rep indigenous culture. B. There are lots of other indigenous actors that probably woulda cut their hair and been great for the role. Casting was just lazy and probably racist.
[17:50] I totally get what Cindy meant, but...from wikipedia: "Lautner has Dutch, French, and German ancestry, and has stated that he has "distant" Native American ancestry (specifically Odawa and Potawatomi) through his mother".
"Distant". He's not Native American. Please let's not play the one drop rule. Besides someone else gave a better explanation. The producers selected a Native American to play Jacob but since he had to cut his hair in the second film and he refused for cultural reason, they decided to take Lautner.
@@Miranda-gi9fx To clarify, I added the direct quote from Wikipedia as extra info. The emphasis on the word distant was from the quote, not something I added. I had to look up the one drop rule because I'm not from the U.S. That last bit about the other actor was interesting and I hope he went on to be successful.

The humans in this movie are 1000000% the best part!! Between the iconic “it’s a worm” and everything that the teacher says and CHARLIE?!? Iconic, we love the human squad here.
I think she did well in portraying Bella. I recently read Midnight Sun and it was described that she is nonchalant about alot of things most of the time and is shy and awkward (blinks alot too). Unaware that she is liked by her classmates because of how considerate she was with other people around her and how low-key she was about being smart. In the book she was in an advanced program in Phoenix before she went to Forks.

I love Twilight so much. For me it's not a romance, it's a comedy. I love watching it with new people because their interpretations make the movies even funnier. I remember a time where I watched the movie with my aunts and their new friends. We spent like 5 minutes laughing at the way Carlisle said "Animal Attack" in his scene.
I hope you do the second one. I tried to watch it for the shirtless werewolves, but the part were Bella steps over the wheelchair bound dad made me have to tap out. I feel like that scene will elicit a funny reaction from you two. XD
Robert's hair was probably really hard to style because fun fact, HE DOESN'T WASH IT, said by himself, he would ask the staff to just brush off any dandruff or stuff that fell off his hair... so yeah. It also stunk a lot according to the people who worked with him on set.

Hiiii there! Before you go, please watch this video of a Quileute Tribal Member talking about how Twilight brought them National Attention, opening a way for their Tribe economically. I quote “ Our ancestors have been fighting for over fifty years for our Northern boundary dispute, and you know, to have that day, President Obama sign that document, saying this Land is yours, it was like WOW “ th-cam.com/video/i46BSmYhC-w/w-d-xo.html The video its really short. You can also watch the movie TWILIGHT IN FORKS that it's basically all narrated by the Quileute and the way the culture was portrayed in the movies. at 1:03:07 th-cam.com/video/4HUBRBFt-Ug/w-d-xo.html you can see you can see a member of the tribe talking about legends on their ancestors becoming wolf's etc. Until this day, there are Werewolf tracks in LA PUSH, and a sign that says " NO VAMPIRE PAST THIS POINT ', Jacobs house e motorcycle, and many other Twilight references, all over town, for those who have the opportunity to visit.
the romance story of the century is not bella and edward, it's you and cindy 🥺👍
IM-
Totally straight couple goals 😌
i’m dumb, are they like a couple or just best friends? 😭
@@yoitsme5640 it's just a bit that they do, Elias is gay lmaoo they're the best of friends that's it :))
@@JamesChessman woah woaaha I can't tell if ur kidding or not, they're not and never have been intimate lmaoo they're kidding!!!
As a queer Twilight fan (and a Stephanie Meyer hater), the fact that Cindy laughed at all the memes warms my heart!!! Honestly I feel like she's two steps away from being an Emmett fan and wanting Rosalie or Alice or step on her.
we'll see about that haha
Emmett is best boy, hands down! 👏
Hello. Just a sincere question, why do you hate Stephanie Meyer? Did she do something wrong?
Me singing "it's a possibility" to the sapphic romance we didn't get from Bella and Jessica. Iykyk
I’m 100% positive that Anna Kendrick is the real vampire here because she looks the exact same in this movie and now
I would read the AU where Bella out weirds Edward and they become friends and Bella ends up with Anna Kendrick's character if/when Cindy wants to write that.
Any male character comes on
Cindy: he’s weird!
😂😂😂
super sus right
I have watched this movie too many times and just recently found out Emmett when he walks into the cafeteria the first time is holding a ziplock bag full of boiled eggs. I have so many questions
Ok but like it does work with the way the Cullens understand food though lol. As in they don't. They literally just grab food, play around with it, and then throw it away. It's basically prop food because they can't eat it as vampires.
@@thoughtsofaleo2916 Wait. They CAN'T eat food as vampires? I'm not sure if that's accurate, is it?!
@@JamesChessman, well they can eat it, they just can’t digest it
I've come around to Robert so much as an actor that I've nearly gaslit myself into watching more of these movies.
LOL
The 'song ruined by Twilight' was made for Twilight 😂😅
o im-
Your profile pic is so cute!
@@murrenkelly3866 oh, thank you!! 🥰💕
Actually really love the song, to be honest. I know it's from Twilight, but part of me can still separate it as the beautiful melody that it is. I feel like that for most of the soundtrack for all the movies.
6:02 has the same energy as "I love dogs; I've always loved dogs" from Jupiter Ascending
6:52 "they have the same hair." 😂💔
ok but please continue this because i need cindy to react to the climax of breaking dawn: part 2, also known as the greatest cinematic moment of our lifetime.
The day-dream... is the greatest cinematic moment?! lol
THIS IS GIVING ME SECONDHAND EMBARRASSMENT OMG because twilight was the biggest thing for unwoke teenagers back then 😭
hahaha
MY FAVE DUO IS BACK
Cindy hissing comes across as the most non-threatening thing ever.
You two laughing at “it’s a worm” made my day
apparently there was an indigenous actor willing to play jacob however the movies required him to cut off his hair, which was a big sacrilegious no-no in that tribe's culture, so that's why the actor playing jacob isn't indigenous
ohhh i see, still a bummer tho :/
Such a bummer but also it’s not like universal that indigenous people won’t cut their hair. A. They shoulda been more accepting if their gunna rep indigenous culture. B. There are lots of other indigenous actors that probably woulda cut their hair and been great for the role.
Casting was just lazy and probably racist.
Booboo cut his hair for Eclipse, so I suppose in theory they could have found another native American for the role.
I’d love to see a movie based on Rosalie’s story, one that isn’t produced by the Twilight folk and dives into controversial topics
cindy helping him out with the promotion of book of the month gave me "EXCUSE ME! he asked for no pickles" vibes they are SO. CUTE
The tears i fucking shed watching this LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Cindy’s 11:49 made me spit out my drink 😂 Please watch all the movies in the saga!
Nursing the toilet in the early hours of the morning post-hangover. Thought I needed Aspirin for the headache, but this too will do.
omgg hope you're doing better. hangovers are the worst
IM SO EXCITED !!! 👀 also currently reading ACOWAR and i can’t get cindy’s voice out of my head lol my mind has tuned her voice into the audiobook 😅
the blooper at the end is so adorable for some reason wth! 😭
[17:50] I totally get what Cindy meant, but...from wikipedia: "Lautner has Dutch, French, and German ancestry, and has stated that he has "distant" Native American ancestry (specifically Odawa and Potawatomi) through his mother".
I was looking for a comment like this, I thought it was worth mentioning but I get too nervous to comment!
*"I'm still waiting for mermaids to become a thing."* Damnit the mad scientists are working as fast as they can.
this movie was my favourite romance when i was younger and now its one of my favourite comedies
'Me running away from Rhysand' pleeeeeeeease hahshahhsha
ofc cindy right?
Bella is awesome in the first movie. Check out her giant mittens, and her big coat, etc. She is always trying to preserve her warmth and life energy, with these big cute things like this. Plus she often has tons of little warm lights in the darkness, especially her bedroom, but also outside places like that restaurant she goes to with Edward, and the gazebo that they dance in at the very end, etc. It's really only the first movie that has this emphasis on preserving warmth and light in the cold darkness!!
watching you two together is a delight!
I mean, please do react to the entire series hahahahha. Totally resonate with the fact that Twilight got some babies into the world of reading but that it would not have been a hit if it was released 2day (lol at Cindy's The Kissing Booth comparison). Btw, kewl thumbnail 😭
ah thank youu!! we're planning on watching on the whole saga!
@@ellias oh my gosh, yessss!
This movie aged like fine wine compared to the rest (that was directed by a bunch of dudes). I love you, Catherine Hardwicke......
The humans in this movie are 1000000% the best part!! Between the iconic “it’s a worm” and everything that the teacher says and CHARLIE?!? Iconic, we love the human squad here.
best character in the franchise
you guys cracking up at the worm scene was funnier than the actual scene
The most unrealistic thing is that Bella didn't experience even an ounce of bi panic when looking at Cullen women
At this point just rename this video "Ooooooh, Red flag. Red flag" 😂😩🤣🙈😂
Kirsten Stewart has definitely aged well for sure; love her!!
You two practising for the sponsored bit at the end was so adorable🥺🥺🥺
Remember: this is a romance, you can't say "nothing happened" just because there wasn't action
Even worse because the build up for the romance was rushed. 50 % of the dialogues are them staring at each other. So yeah not a lot happened.
"charlie is a cOP?? hm...i dunno about tHAT..." iconic :D
Omg please do all the movies! I have honestly never laughed so much and I didn't realize all the cringe/funny/creepy things in the movie. Subscribed!
Just reached 09:42 without headphones in, that got me some attention 😆
I would love to watch both of you react to the whole series!!!
"There's like, nothing happening in this movie"
My 12 years old me would like to speak to your lawyers please
(no, but it's always so funny watching this movie now that I'm 21 because when I was 12 it was my holy grail and now I'm like "what the heck was I thinking?")
14:46 I just realized something! Edward couldn't lie if Bella was vlogging the whole thing 😆 She could just go home and rewatch the footage.
Imagine if dashcams were a more popular thing then 😬
To be fair though, the Twilight movies are cinematic af. Like, 22:29 damn, I didn't know it had ambitious shots like that.
8:02 fun fact: anna kendrick forgot too 💀 she did not remember she was in Twilight until recently.
You guys are just so adorable to watch together!! 😆
Edward couldn't hear bella's thoughts so he is very irritated that's why he is straight up asking about everything like "what's in Jacksonville"
WATCH THE SECOND MOVIE TOGETHER
I absolutely LOVE your dynamic...watching this felt like I was hanging out with some close friends :')
I hope you do the second one.
I tried to watch it for the shirtless werewolves, but the part were Bella steps over the wheelchair bound dad made me have to tap out.
I feel like that scene will elicit a funny reaction from you two. XD
Oh jeez, I think the meaning was that she forced her way into the house, I didn’t think it was about the wheelchair guy, well anyway.
14:25 "what else can that guy wreck" I rolled down on the floor laughing 😭💀
Fun fact. Henry Cavill was the actual guy who auditioned for Edward Cullen and didn't get the role 🥲
Oh yes and Jennifer Lawrence auditioned for Bella but didn't get the role😅
@@harinidesilva3308 That would be one interesting alternative. Henry and Jennifer 👀
fuckkk he totally should have been edward idc what anyone else says.
@@ellias He could have done it, but I think Pattison is better at capturing the darker creepier aspects of the character.
At the time, Twilight was an indie movie. They didn't know when they made it that it was going to be a blockbuster.
Oh now you have to watch the rest please
Omg, you guys HAVE to do the whole series, I will literally pay!!!
quality content, no thoughts just vibes
9:44 noooooo 😂 im cackling
This was so much better than the movie. I had a lot of fun watching you both!
Robert's hair was probably really hard to style because fun fact, HE DOESN'T WASH IT, said by himself, he would ask the staff to just brush off any dandruff or stuff that fell off his hair... so yeah. It also stunk a lot according to the people who worked with him on set.
I was waiting for a James Brown reference at 20:10
"Say it out loud! I'm black and I'm proud!"
I hate when people say the actors are bad at acting because of these movies. Honestly it was just bad directing, because theyre both great actors in other movies
Im pretty sure they know that and are jusy saying it with reference to this movie for the joke
Taylor Lautner actually does have some Native American heritage, he’s just not fully indigenous
Let's not play the one drop rule please.
I screamed when I saw they sent you Once There Were Wolves! Charlotte McConaughey is a phenomenal writer and storyteller. Her debut novel, Migrations, changed my life!! Highly recommend and I will be picking up Once There Were Wolves this weekend!
When Cindy said Eric talks too much I bust out laughing cuz WHATTTT???
I’m obsessed with you guys!!!! I love watching twilight over and over again…it’s my comfort place but I need something new too so I’ve been watching twilight watch commentary videos and you guys are my fav so far
Literally would enjoy y’all doing the whole saga
This video is GOLDD😂😂 waiting for y'all to watch New Moon
for some reason, this is making me want to rewatch twilight 😂
I would totally watch each of your commentaries on this franchise 😂
OMG this is one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen. PLEASE react to 50 shades of grey or something similar. Or make this a series - like all the Twilight movies
I loved this so much!!! Absolutely down for watching you react to the second one - i watched these movies involuntarily some 7 years back and gotta say, getting re-cursed thru y'all is way more enjoyable
ellias, you never had that haircut that eric had but i did?! betrayal
Not the piano cool for the summer😭
