About Kristin “changing”: she has matured as everyone does, but she wasn’t EVER the nasty person that show made her out to be often.
The entire faux “love triangle” was completely fabricated, and MTV’s editing absolutely made Kristin seem & look bad in many scenarios that were entirely made up.
Everyone on the show, including LC, (and teenagers, as a whole, let’s be real) was an entitled “brat” on some level - it’s called being a teenager, you think everything revolves around you at that time.
Like they said on the first episode of this pod, producers absolutely had set tropes for each person, and they chose “hot bitch” for Kristin, and edited the whole show, after filming was wrapped each season, to tailor to that forced narrative for each person.
Super weird to do to a bunch of teenagers too.
Adults KNOW what they’re getting into at this point with reality tv.
This cast didn’t have a gd CLUE what they were going to do with these shows, or how they were going to edit & manipulate their ACTUAL reality.

Gotta give props to Kristin. She's grown and changed in such a positive way. The way she listens with humility and can have a sense of humor about herself is awesome. She's still honest...but there's def more empathy there. Good on her. And she looks great, as per usual.

Nah, I hated her. 😂 because I was the sweet girl who was always treated badly by girls like Kristen. But that’s high school, we all grow up and I’m sure she’s not proud of how she acted some times. And some of it was fake or edited of course. I appreciate how she is now, still confident but reflective and caring.
I am glad they are doing this podcast! Their chemistry is just always there and I hope they know they have something special. Glad they continue their friendship and they both look so happy!

I love how Kristin says she hated getting pots and pans for graduation because the look on her face when she got them was priceless but now she understands because adulthood. I have respect for Kristin.

Yeah it feels like a missed opportunity...
I think thousands of people subscribed to this channel just to see these two together discussing the episodes. But the channel probably lost thousands of subscribers once people realized that they were not getting episodes, let alone having to wait months for another one. As I said, everyone loves to see these two together, not just listen to a podcast. Probably kicking themselves for that move. Quite a disappointment as a viewer.

I'm really a big fan of Kristin...but i am noticing when Lauren is brought up she still kind of perses her lips goes silnt...and looks pretty irritated...am i reading too much into it....or is there still some salt there between them....i know they aren't friends...but idk....lol
Maybe it’s just a little awkward and uncomfortable. From what was said in previous shows and interviews, MTV kinda bigged up their beef. Which eventually lead to portraying her (Kristin) as the mean girl/villain. It seems like she spent a lot of time correcting that image. So I can see how it may still feel cringey.
I was watching Laguna beach around age 13-14. Because of the way the narrative was set up, I remember feeling like I was suppose to like Lauren more. Like you can feel like favoritism placed on LC’s character. But in all seriousness, I was so much more team Kristin.
Agreed but I would totally be the same way. We are humans with emotions and just because we know the right thing is to be the bigger person and let bygones be bygones, it’s a lot easier in theory than in practice

I can’t imagine how irritating it must be for Kristin to talk about Lo in any kind of positive light. Now that we know that Lo was the one that was so utterly willing to spread the ‘Kristin being on drugs’ narrative on the Hills. When audrina came spilling the tea on that, that producers asked all the girls to do it in exchange for an expensive bag and that Lo damn near jumped at the chance…how fucking gross. Of both production and Lo. 🤮

It’s funny cause Lo and Morgan (maybe more Morgan ) seemed like Kristin’s favs as far as Lauren’s friends.
Yes, I agree with Steven. I was in HS when Laguna aired on tv and it was nice to see as a far as comparing to my experiences. Now as an adult I watch it again and it’s like going down memory lane and remembering the good old high school days. Love you guys and the podcast!

the fact that stephens sister didn’t go to his graduation still to this day bothered me. That wouldn’t even be an option in my family. How do you not take off work for $10/ hr. It was really sad and ridiculous

Graduating is a gift you give yourself and your parents. Not every little thing warrants a gift. They are hardly traumatized growing up in one of the most expensive and beautiful areas of the US. I can see them bonding over the MTV filming experience, but not because they didn’t get enough gifts.

It's crazy how it feels like time drags on while you're in school but then, like Stephen said, graduation day flies by and you wish it wouldn't. I love hearing these shows where Kristin and Stephen look back on the episodes and talk about behind the scenes stuff.

@@cassandrawhitworth7213 She says on the next show that she moved to Marina Del Rey while in high school. Talan also dropped out of school during Laguna beach. Mtv and the cast was more than willing to lie about some things to give off the impression that their parents did things for them when they absolutely did not. It’s a much better story that her dad got it for her rather than she bought it herself. But she has mentioned many times in interviews that her dad only got her pots and pans for graduation
They're so cute together and have so much chemistry. They were so young so of course it didn't work out but now that they are older omg the chemistry is still there. So cute! I hope they touch on Season 2 episodes as well.

This has been the best to rewatch the episodes and then listen to the pod.
Also the drama is what i didn't like. I would have rather just watched the love story between Stephen and Kristin and all the other stuff like partying, graduation, friends, future plans etc. The drama with Lauren always made me so bored and just sucked to watch. So unnecessary.
You guys literally do not post enough. I also want to hear you guys speaking about current topics that are more relevant in relation to what's going on TODAY etc. Thank you c/o 2004 here.

Team Kristen!!!! I love your free spirit and sense of humor. My two bffs and I would get into it because they liked LC & I liked Kristen. LC is ok....but has a bland personality. Watching Stephen pick Kristen over Lauren over and over again, was the best! 😆
I think lots of women envy the wealth she came into when she married Jay Cutler......as well as the fat divorce settlement she got. It's easy to look gorgeous when you don't have to work and have lots of free time. And don't tell me she's a "jewelery designer"......lol, she doesn't actually design anything, and she doesn't run the business either. She just puts her name on it.

Gotta echo what a lot of people are saying. Stephen talks a bit too much. I get it's a podcast, but there's two hosts. Even when they have guests, he goes through the same stories multiple times on different episodes, and it would be nice to have more people contribute different stories or just shorten the episode. He also talks over Kristin, which is rude.

No, they only recorded videos for some of the podcasts, not all of them.

These are the only two people I know I mean even in my own little circle lol two people that are ex bf or gf get along so well and both of them do and I think its because It's all about growing up and being Mature i know some of us had our bad relationships i know I did but if I ever saw my exs I would just say hi maybe to 2 of them and the rest I wouldn't say anything because they were really not good guys at all so by me saying nothing means I move on im not going yo yell at them but Steven and Kristen they dated when they were in high school and time has gone by and they move on with thete own life so now they understand eachother they both have grown a lot 💯 % and I love seeing u guys i hope too meet u both 💜💜

I think Stephen dissects things a bit too much… like it’s not that deep. I find myself tuning out because of how long he explains something lol Keep it light and laugh about it a bit more 🤪

The first reality show I remember watching was The Real World also on MYT. I’m class of 2002 and watched Latina Beach when it came out. My high school years was a huge party, not with people I went to school with. A had a huge friend group of all different ages and I like Kristin, was always the young one. But I had my older sisters ID. 😀Kristin is still as beautiful today.

I cried during the graduation episode as well . I think because I was class of 2005 but graduated early 2004 because I was pregnant. I never got to have a graduation like that and it brought me back to those times and omg I lost it 😭

Agreed, he’s the guy who thinks he’s the smartest one in the room and takes himself too seriously. But the reality is he peaked in high school 😂 idk how Kristin ever put up with him then or now, she’s so different and more likeable than he is.
@@ilovebeee1 I'm not sure he thinks he's the smartest person in the room, but he is only interested in talking about HIS experience. Whatever they are talking about he is quick to steer the conversation back to what his experience was, or his thoughts on something. I don't know how Kristin isn't annoyed with it. He needs to learn how to let others talk or how to draw out people so that they can share their experience.

Don't bother looking for the latest episode they dropped today on 10/11 ('The First to Go'). I watched it this morning, but it was gone later today. Not sure why? Fortunately you can still listen to the episode on Spotify, Amazon, etc
We loved to (enviously/pretend to) “hate” her back then ‘cos she was living the teen life most girls wanted (the looks, confidence, boys, lifestyle) … and now we just totally love her! She’s amazing, a fierce boss babe (but I knew that from her “reality” show too!) 🤗 I’m enjoying seeing how Steeee-pheeennn has grown too! Loving watching this side-by-side with Whitney and Tim’s episode reviews… wish there were more videos of these BTTB podcasts, but I’m listening on Apple Podcasts and jumping back here for these video episodes as they pop up, straight after watching the correct episode review on Whitney’s YT channel… totally loving the insider view!

Only a few episodes are videos on TH-cam. The rest are podcasts, audio only on Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts.
I think they only reason could be for Stephen's sister is that other people requested off graduation at her job before her so they didn't give her off bc of coverage

No they're not. They record weekly audio podcasts from home as they live in completely different states! They only sometimes get together to film a video podcast for promotional purposes.
