I'm trying to swap the factory basic stereo to the upgraded factory version with the screen etc. Are the plugs on the rear pretty much the same, like a direct swap ?
So did you just replace the cd player with another stock cd player or did you do an aftermarket cd player? What are some good aftermarket dvd/cd player replacements for this vehicle?
Does anyone know if the DVD player is accesible to open up? I need to remove coins that my two year old put in it. Disk goes in but not reading it. Got to love kids. Thanks in advance.
Yes. Taking the entire unit was relatively easy but getting the two dimes took a while. Couldn't open the DVD player unit so I had to shake it until they were out.
Same thing happened with our 3 yr old. He thought he would get candy out of it. Did it work after you removed the coins? The shop wants 1800 bucks to replace it.
@@nataliejankelow339 Yes, it worked and still works fine. I could not get it to open completely but I was able to get the coins out. Just some patience and a lot of shaking the radio until they came out. Hope you get it fixed on your own. 1800 just seems way to much.
Very well done video. This answered all of the questions I had to remove these panels without causing damage. Thank you.
Super helpful video! Thank you! Now I just need to see how to take the DVD player apart to remove a stuck DVD.
Tanks bro, this helped me a lot
How do you separate the Heat/AC controls from the stereo?
Any ideas on if you can replace this with a touchscreen? If so which touchscreen would be best?
my dads 2011 Pilot has the exact same problem. I need to get it fixed!

Thanks so much that was superb!
My 2011 pilot left side speakers aren't working. Any ideas?
