Should have sue police department, coffee shop, and Karen for deformation of character and false arrest. Since you have the video you have a pretty good case.
Only against the coffee shop and the manager, OP would need Karen's name and address to serve her papers to sue. Also you can't sue the cops for detaining you when they have probable cause or responsible expectation of threat to their lives/safety. FYI hot coffee can leave serious burns and if thrown on someone is classified as a deadly weapon. Plus they apologized and likely told OP why they detained, screaming in a business usually means trouble. P.s. the cops can detain you under reasonable suspicion, it doesn't equal arrest. Just that they want you to stay there til they can see everything is good, like a traffic stop.
I’d have turned around and told the police to arrest her for attempted theft. She admitted the phone wasn’t her sons but was trying to take it anyway. Even if her racist BS about it being stolen was a sincere belief, she was trying to take property she knew wasn’t hers. Not to mention the racially motivated harassment and extortion. The fact the story ends there makes it seem like the OP was just done and left, but they should have had the police arrest her
I'm sure they would have if the story was real. The reason the user deleted their account was because they got called out for being a serial liar who was black in this story and white in another.
@@Slashthekitsune I was wondering about that. It seemed unlikely that someone that had the background the OP claimed would just let this go. I wouldn't.
I don't fully understand autism, but I know people who have it, so I know it is real, and I've heard some success stories. I think there should be more public education about it so there is more public understanding about it.
@@jacklow9611 my kids school did a whole week about it, after a parent of a child in my daughter's class demanded 'the retard not be in the same class as her son'. She won an award for a science competition and when collecting it on stage, she did her stim, which for my daughter is shaking her hands and bobbing her head, she was excited, overwhelmed and just doing her thing ya know? She's what people I guess call high functioning as she's on par with her peers in everything but sports and the more nuanced side of social skills. I didn't know about this until she waited at the school gate to watch my daughter walk out to me, and lost her fucking mind on me AND my daughter, 7 at the time, calling her a retard, me an abusive parent, that it's disgusting they allow things like my daughter to be around the normal kids. This didn't just upset my daughter and I, but also her classmates and their parents. The parents defended me from this beast of a woman and also did their best to comfort the two of us, this woman was at the point even I feared she would attack us and it was just horrific. I feel terrible for the children who witnessed this, I was shoved multiple times before the other parents clued in and basically stood between us demanding she walk away and defending us both. Even the dad's, who basically made a ring and helped me get across the road to where I lived and stood in my driveway while she was STILL going off. It was great to be invited into the class to with my daughter speak about how she works a bit different, because her brain is different, but hey no one's brain is the exact same. Look at how some people just don't get Math, some don't get English. Some people bad at sport. Autism isn't bad, it's just a brain working in a slightly different way. After that, my daughter had A LOT more friends, as we explained, sometimes you need to outright say why my daughter is upsetting someone with her words or not listening, she needs it explained. A cool after effect, was the kids especially in her class being more vocal to eachother about why your actions upset me, please don't do it. Which helped a lot when it came to free play or not wanting to share the thing they brought from home.
@@jacklow9611 and also look, I'm the mother to an autistic child, but I still don't quite understand it, or HER ways, I just have a better mindset to try and open a conversation with her for her to explain what she's feeling, why she reacted and what can be done better next time.
@@kaddy2: Wow! I'm glad the other students and parents stood up for your daughter. I hope that bigot mom was totally embarrassed by their reaction. It is sort of the same with children with Down's Syndrome, but that is a visible "handicap", although I wouldn't call it a handicap. I worked, for a few years, with developmentally handicapped youth, and while none of them were on the autism spectrum (or if they were, we, the staff, weren't told), but I discovered that they were far from "dumb", and their minds do work differently from what is considered normal. We were trying to teach them independent living skills, and when even made a small success, we were very proud of them, and let them know we were proud of them. Granted, at first I made some mistakes, but I always apologized to the 'injured party', and did not come down on them when they made an honest mistake, or something happened that was out of their control. They learned from me, and I learned from them.
The problem that Autism has run into, is there are way too many parents diagnosing their kids with it themselves nowadays without medical confirmation. A former friend of mine claimed all five of her boys had autism, including the one that was 11 month old at the time, tho none had EVER been to a doctor after they were born . 5 kids ranging from 11 months to 6 1/2 years old. All different dad's, who are not in the picture. NO rules, NO Discipline. And if one does something horrible she just says "oh that's because of his Autism" No that's because you are a horrible parent, actual autism is something much different.... Strangely none of them have these issue at Gramma and grandpas only at moms. I told another friend of mine, an adult with functioning autism about her and he said sadly, that is way too common and makes it harder for those who really need help to get it.
Honestly, they should have - next time they do something like this again, it could be with someone who won't hesitate to press charges or something like that
@@JadenYukifan28 this is literally hiding evidence and she could sue the coffee shop for obstruction of justice , sue the woman for intentional wrongful police report and the police for negligence of duty
That was my thought. The moment the police officer figured it out finally, OP should have said, "And now I wish to press charges against (Karen) for the false Police Report resulting in all this wasted time and mistreatment by the police. Either that, or I will file a complaint against you for the racial profiling that is apparent here."
As soon as that manager hinted that the phone was Karen's the response should have been "Good, call the police, they're going to be needed." I also would have announced "If she walks out of here with that phone I'm suing for discrimination and conspiracy to commit theft."
That story seemed fishy to me. It's really easy to prove a phone is yours by either unlocking it and or showing the profile information. And why would a thief hang out after stealing a phone?
there's one really solid one, one that is also pretty solid, and one that may actually get thrown out. (The police were literally doing their job in securing the scene, detaining OP since they admitted that they became agitated before the police were called. An agitated person is dangerous when you're walking into an unknown situation... from the police perspective.)
@@andorfedra true as far as the way police treated OP..... But the fact they didn't arrest the lady who made the false call on the spot is pretty shady and should def be investigated.... That's basically attempted robbery without violence + making a false accusation.
That story sounds fake to me, not because I don't believe racist people exist, but because it sounds like "no one will believe the nice phone I bought, now surely someone will think I stole it". It sounds like an imaginary scenario created in the mind of someone that thinks people notice if they have nice things instead of just ignoring them like with anyone else.
@@Puerco-Potter Former LEO here... sadly, crap like that happens, I mean honest to god it actually happens and happens exactly like that. I have actually had to deal with allegations in a similar way, a story for another day and another venue. And as @Andor Fedra pointed out, there is no issue with the officers securing the OP, an agitated person can be very dangerous, and more often than not irrational. However, the racist/sexist/ageist/elitist BS of some Karen's, Kens, and their kids can absolutely cause real and legitimate legal issues for people. And LEOs sometimes don't have a way to determine that the racist BS from the Karens/Kens/Businesses etc is just that BS, and have to use the information available to them at the time. Imagine if the coffee shop hadn't had cameras, or the cameras didn't show where the OP was sitting. The officers would have had to make decisions based on the shitty info given to them by the 3 individuals involved, and the OPs statement.

If the security footage was taken by a private entity they do not have to release the footage unless ordered to by warrant or subpoena. Fines or misdemeanor charges should have been issued to the karen and coffee shop/manager for filing a false police report. The woman should have filed a formal complaint with the police department.
@@wes276 With that much education and proud of it you would be able to write without so many errors. Why would the manager believe that she was a phone thief while chilling there with it instead of being fking gone after stealing it. She didn't tell the manager to go check the security footage to begin with and stop being a damn racist believing Karen word without any proof. It's really easy to prove when a phone belongs to you... you open the contact list and show to the manager while asking Karen to name ONE contact, you show your profile popping up as you open any app, you lock it and unlock it, you make Karen try to ring the phone on the Manager's phone, then you do it once Karen says she doesn't know the number by memory, etc, anything. Fluff himself listed more, like asking Karen what is the background. Do you need more?
As an autistic person myself, the second story seriously pissed me off. “Everyone has autism nowadays!” Actually, it’s more of the fact that as more and more people learn about it, fewer and fewer autistic people go undiagnosed.
I think she meant that she thought OP was lying about her daughter. I hate that Karen but can you really blame her for thinking that because a lot of people do fake having something for attention (I don’t understand why tho)
i remember long ago, a physician remarked that most people were on the spectrum, anywhere from totally unobservable, or "normal" to devastatingly crippling. i have cousins on my father's side that it raged through in varying degrees, but somehow skipped me (i think). consider yourself blessed, and act like it.
@@em1osmurf Exactly! Most people don’t realize that it’s a spectrum. I’m on the higher functioning end, but I have been in so many programs that grouped me with FAR lower functioning clients. Just because I have Autism doesn’t mean I should be treated like a preschooler.

I’m not saying I’m on the spectrum but I definitely don’t like a lot of people or human contact but I would never claim mental health. More or less a messed up childhood with bad developmental habits growing up.
for the phone story: I REALLY hope the owner of the coffee shop was a decent person and banned the Karen, as well as fired the OBVIOUSLY racist manager, and i hope the cops made both Karen and the manager pay fines for wasting police time/obstruction of justice for REFUSING to show the security footage. No matter WHERE you live if a cop asks to see the camera footage you, as far as i know and i could very easily be incorrect, HAVE to comply or face a fine/potential jail time for refusing.

@@zeroapostle4ever9 there is a classic line you may have heard that “if you’ve met one person with autism…you’ve met one person with autism”. It’s so true!
@@zeroapostle4ever9 I know it can be quite fustrating, but I leave some of the blame on the US/CA Board of Mental Health, as it roots from the campaign to make persons with mental disability more relatable. Much like ADHD, OCD, and many more, Autism was explained to the world through the lowest and simplest form of the spectrum so that the people afflicted don't look like the "retards" people think they were, but this only caused them to see such diagnoses as "people who learn differently". This is very demeaning and insulting to many people as it doesn't describe how crippling such conditions can be or the hundreds of other "side effects" of the diagnoses, like how autists might lose the ability to speak all together (I have met such people), OCD's inability to ignore their ticks and how time consuming they can be (a good example is Michael J. Fox in Scrubs), or even that ADHD can come with a lack of seretonin causing crippling depression without cause. By trying to break one stygma, they created another for people like Karen where "they are perfectly normal like you and me, just learns differently" registered with the "my kid is lazy" to form the opinion in such a Karen's mind that "Autism is just an excuse cause your kid learns a bit weirdly, not a retardation, and thus is not a mental disability." (Btw I am using retardation in the medical term, of someone so disabled they have lost the function of self awareness to signify the severity, not to insult at all) Such cases have actually proven to cost lives, as some OCD and Autistic went mental after being dragged from their task, and I remember a person with ADHD who's caregivers (prescribing to the "he just can't concentrate" as web MD is all they get for medical training) thought "finally, he shut up" when the guy doubled back on the group walk and jumped off an overpass to end his life due to a glimpse of depression they had not been told exists with ADHD, even after the fact. Sorry for the rant, it is kind of a cause I am passionate about, but all this to try and say that I understand and you're not alone. Rather, to make matters worse, you went from the mental version of someone in a wheelchair, to the mental version of "that person is taking it" which really sucks.
@@Maninawig I mostly blame the media. Autism was the default go-to in attempts for them to "explain" a shooting, and now it's used by karens and armchair psychiatrists to try and justify some outlandishly entitled behavior. It's getting to the point where I'm once again starting to feel afraid of telling people that I'm on the spectrum, because many people can't differentiate the difference between true entitlement and needing accommodations. Folks used to think that we'd commit violent behavior at the drop of a hat (many still do, sadly), and now they think that needing accommodations or any behavior which doesn't make sense to them is "autism". I tried making a comic to explain about autism and try to break some of the stigma, but now there's just a new stigma and people still don't get it or even try to understand. PS: Just wanted to point out that the DSM classifies what used to be called "retardation" as "Intellectual Disability" now.

There was one day I was talking to his son during a family get together where I was invited. I had no idea he was listening. When the son mentioned how much money the father had I said, it's his money he can do what he want's with it. After that, I was invited to all family gatherings and treated as family, although I had no idea why at the time. Before that he thought I was friends with his daughter to try to get his money. Side note, the daughter had no idea her father was a multi millionaire, though I always knew. I was the one who told her he was worth millions. I also never asked for any handouts though I was working for minimum wage at the time. I was just happy they included me in their family gatherings. I also enjoyed their company. The son told me his father was the most well meaning asshole he had ever met. Given my own experience, and even though I liked the father, I really could not disagree. Waldo Colon was well meaning, and he was an asshole. I also have to say, it takes one to know one. Sad to say, I probably fall into the same category without the benefit of being rich. Gloria, my girlfriend would be about 80 years old now, if she still lives. I'm 59. The time I hung out with them was 1988. Life is strange, deal with it. Note: If you are worth millions or more, you have every right to view people with suspicion. I'm not against you being rich, if you are, but I am against unethical business practices. I currently have one friend who is worth over $1,000,000. He runs a general store 2 blocks from my house and has multiple rental properties. I've known him since 1987. (I don't know his annual income, nor do I know his full net worth. This is my guestimate based on what I do know about him.) He runs an annual charity drive to raise awareness about drunk driving. One of his daughters was in college to become a registered nurse when she was struck and killed by a drunk driver. Melissa was my friend, and I miss her. If you care about this issue, support a local charity to help the victims of drunk driving "accidents". I'm not opposed to drinking, but do try to keep it within the confines of your house/apartment. Be well all, and I hope what I have said is helpful to somebody.

So "Karen" films a self rehabilitation session and judges an athlete based on a recovery exercise? That footage should be archived as an example of the correct way to recover from excess down time, regardless of the reason. The coach (OP) needs to remember that she was modelling responsible recovery from injury and not a lack of fitness. Virtual high five coach, good job!
These people are way too nice. In every case somebody would’ve gotten a major earful. In the case of the poor woman who was racially profiled, she really needs to take that to another level. I would be putting reviews online for that coffee shop. Their Facebook and Instagram and Twitter will be covered with tagged comments about them. As for the woman and the coach, what a see you next Tuesday.

My own entitled person story. I worked as a waiter at one point. Sad to say, I was a bad waiter, I knew it and so did my co-workers, and my boss. I lasted about 3 month in that job, and voluntarily resigned after I got a job at the Library. The entitled person was someone I had accidentally spilled soup on his tie. He saw me at the Library, and tried to get me fired from there. Apparently, he thought since I was a bad waiter, I could not be good at any other job. I have issues with my self image already, and have difficulty dealing when other people attack me that way. I got fired from my last job, where I copied medical records. I was copying anywhere from 3,000 to 6,000 pages per day of medical records, and got fired in part for being too slow. Not the only reason given, but one of the reasons given. The quota was 10 records per day. 3,000 to 6,000 pages was from 4 to 6 records. Now, 6 records was in the 3,000 page range, while 4 records was the 6,000 page range. If that sounds backwards, keep in mind I had to do the paperwork to track these copies. So less paperwork means more pages per record copied. More paperwork means less pages per record copied. If it was a legal request, I also had to provide page counts, and fill out a form to be presented at court, I did not have to attend in person, that was my sworn statement, that the copy was a true and accurate record of medical care given to the patient. While the legal request did not change my duties, it did add time to the processing due to the extra paperwork involved. I probably should have stayed at the Library. I switched in order to keep retirement benefits as the Library was put under a private contractor. I'm retired now. They allowed that as I had just barely qualified when I was given notice of termination. To be clear, My flight commander asked me when I would qualify for retirement, and I think she held off to ensure I would qualify. I had 38 years in service at the time I retired. As it is, I'm disabled. I had a heart attack, and my stamina is not what it was before that. I also have arthritis, and COPD. So, she did me a favor by delaying action. As I say, being slow was not the only reason, just one of the reasons. Side note, I was in my Doctors office (my primary care physician) and mentioned to the person in his office how many pages per day I was expected to copy, and she was shocked. She told me that if she had to copy as many as 1000 pages, that was a very busy day for her. So, I guess I can't feel too bad for being slow. Sorry for the wall of text. At that, this isn't anywhere near enough to give an accurate picture. I'm condensing 38 years to a single paragraph.
As a parent of an autistic child, the second story made me cry. I hope that more people learn that not all disabilities are visible and not question someone when they say that a child has a disability. The older lady was an angel that day to OP. Hugs to both OP and the older lady.

I had a Drill Sargent in Basic that kept berating me for not being able to run fast enough, even though I had a 4F rating for both bad feet and circulation problems in my legs. He kept telling me, "I'll make you screw up, then I'll get you into the boxing ring where I'll beat the shit out of you." He grabbed me one day and told me that I had just volunteered to help load a huge coil of rope on a flatbed truck and to wait there until he found five more volunteers. He thought that he was far enough away as he pointed at me and laughed to the other NCOs. I was tired of waiting 'for five more guys' as he goofed off. I made sure he was looking as I bent down and tossed the rope up over my head and onto the truck. Then I dusted my hands and walked off. He never mouthed off to me again. He had no idea about my upper body strength, but repairing huge '60s and early '70s color TVs took a lot of strength and you never ran with one of them. I also put up with a lot of crap in high school over my medical problems, but every time some fool attacked me they quickly regretted it. I knocked down our schools idiot fullback one day. He slid over 20 feet before he came to a rest. A teacher threatened me with a large paddle for defending myself. I made it clear that if he tried, I would break it on his bony ass. After that, no one bothered me again.
Why does everyone assume that the owners are always present? In the past 55 years I have never worked anywhere that the owner was present on a regular basis. One pace I saw the owner, once in over four years. At another I never saw anything higher than a VP. My first job was in a TV shop, and the owner did a lot of the service calls, because the other tech was better on the bench than he was. At another early job, the owner had two TV shops, plus he serviced master clocks and fire alarms for schools so he would b gone weeks at a time. You rarely saw him during the summer, or during any break at college. He would stop by to restock, get clean cloths and be gone again.

The second story upsets me so much. My 5 year old niece has been diagnosed autistic since she was 1 or 2. Originally she was in a program that teachers came to our house to help her mobility and speech, up to age 3. That's when covid hit too. She was doing amazing! On the level she could be in non SPED classes when she reached school age. Well her mom didn't enroll her in the program for kids above 3, so she stopped getting the help she needed and went downhill. Now at 5, she has her good and bad days, and is still not back at the level of non SPED classes. She also now lives with my parents, her grandma and papa, due to some problems with her parents. I know how hard it can be to handle her on her bad days, and I understand the struggle of being overstimmed, since I'm undiagnosed autistic and am extremely sensitive to sounds. I despise it when people say autism isn't a real disability, and it's parenting issues, because no matter how hard the parent tries, there are some things out of their control. No matter how much we work with my niece, she will always have her little behavior "issues". I say "issues" because I don't see any problems with how she acts. She isn't agressive, she doesn't hit when she's overstimmed, and if you didn't spend a lot of time with her would think she was neurotypical. I also wish Caroline Carts were a thing when I was a kid, would have helped my mom with my older brother.
That racial profiling story angers me so much, and sadly - it happens all the time. It may have happened to me too, as I'm also black. At the time I didn't know this was illegal for them to do, so I just sat there scared beyond belief. They found nothing and let me go, but I think back to that alot and it continues to make me nervous around them. I say that "it may have happened" because I don't know if it was racial profiling or just a random search. But it still negatively impacted me regardless.

My response to anyone who would say “you don’t look disabled” will alway be “well you don’t look very intelligent so it seems you can’t always rely on looks”
I think an insult would be worded as "well, you actually look intelligent" or "well, you don't look stupid" before the rest. Your statement is implying you were wrong about them NOT being very intelligent based on their looks.
The last story made me laugh and think about coaches in various sports who don't have the same abilities as their students, but still are able to train masters of their specialities. Béla Károlyi couldn't do anything on the floor, but Nadia Comăneci was the first to get 10.0 at the Olympics.
Second Story: As an aspie myself, that child sounds like he's mid- to low-function autistic. Asperger's Syndrome is on the higher end of the spectrum. And yes, even Asperger's is a disability. The very term "syndrome" means a collection of different issues.
Functioning labels are outdated and pretty ableist, since the denote which autistics are more useful to neurotypicals. Similar reason why Asperger's syndrome is an outdated diagnosis and has since been reabsorbed into autism as of the DSM-5. Asperger's Syndrome was named by Hans Asperger, a Nazi eugenicist who created the term as a means of determinging which autistics were deemed "suitable to live" in the eyes of the Nazis.
@@primrosevale1995 You were. It doesn't matter in the long run. With the functioning levels, what we use now is support needs which is essentially the same thing. With the Aspie thing, yes it changed but not because of the person who named it. Nobody thinks of him when someone says they have asperger syndrome. And the fact that you added the information about Hans Asperger in reply to a person who identifies as an aspie is pretty ablest too. You are trying to make someone feel bad about using the phrase asperger syndrome, which is how this person identifies. Autism, as you should know, is a disability that makes change hard. Change with language or how a person identifies is hard. If you are going to continue to say that you were not telling an autistic person how to identify, are were in the very least language policing an autistic person which is not good either. Especially when the language used and the alternative language 1. Mean the exact same thing and 2. Have the exact same problems.
I have a friend who has a sister with autism described as Story 2. Any time I was over I helped him with her. Now she was not one to run away but she became irritated *easily* . I knew her from when she was 11 to 16. For being autistic she was smart. At 12 she could verbally state if she wanted something (usually repeating said word) so we knew what she wanted. The first time I saw her stimming it shocked me but I knew over time it meant she needed something and wanted someone to listen. She loved company and loved showing off her stuffed toys. Any time I would come over and ask her if she got a new toy. She would get happy, start jumping, then show me her new toy. She knew how to shower herself without her mother or brother helping. If she wanted food she would come up to us and say the word of what she wanted. By the time I was 20 she was 16. I had moved out of the town we were in but checked in with my friend with how she was doing. After she turned 17 her stimming started to get violent and her mother was having trouble keeping her under control. One day it got so bad she started breaking windows and cutting herself on the glass doing it. They had to move her into housing for disabled adults. Her mother still visits her often and since being in there she has become her normal self. I check in every 2 months or so just to make sure she is doing alright.
Story one.... a "little bit crazy"? No, she is totally batcrap crazy, and majorly entitled. At the least, go low contact. If her idiocy continues, think about no contact.
Last story: That mother has it in for OP from the start. She followed him from the start, filmed him at the track from a distance and ran straight to the Head Coach with the video. Fortunately the Head Coach had the sense to stifle her on the spot.
The coffee shop phone story is disgusting!! 😡 Shame on everyone who was involved. I’m sorry this is still going on for this woman. She’s a far better human than anyone there!!
Really, it’s people like these karens that make me hate the world and also another reason why I continue to be glad that I’m an introvert! I’m so sorry to hear that they went through those situations. Those Karen’s need help!
Story #3: OP should have pressed charges against Karen at the very least. Also lawsuit against the coffee shop and police. As a retail manager I would have asked OP if she had photos of herself on the phone also if she had social media and compare the name with her ID.
as an autistic woman myself who has been there (not the same level as her but I know the feelings and how stressed we can be and stressful shopping with children can be alone) that older woman is the real MVP!! game saver and an angel 🥰 Karans are the WORST they can'tparentt and do not understand anything
"Can't believe a wild accusation would result in an arrest like that"? Fluff, honey, despite what the cops said it IS racial profiling. I can completely believe it.
Coffee shop story. You know the easiest way to deal with that? Use a cell phone camera and record when someone approaches you like that but if only she had a cell phone on her for the confrontation
With regards to the coffee shop one, why didn't OP question why the Karen and coffee shop manager weren't being charged with discrimination, racial profiling, and making a false police report?
Because generally, and while being a terrible thing to do mind you, people have the right to be racist assholes. If thats how they want to be, well not much anyone can do about it. Only thing that could be done there is charging her with filing a false report, but that requires the cops to not be racist assholes.
2nd Story: I love stories about positive and kind behavior from people. This older woman simply wanted to offer a kindness to another with no expectation of any kind of reward. The older woman probably quietly helps more often than not; small (or large) kindnesses and good deeds…
no, when someone is not white passing these people have an immediate bias because "their type can't possibly afford it", that's what we call racial profiling
@@CRSB00 Trust me, I know what racial profiling is. Seen and experienced way too many times. As far as my comment, it’s what I call sarcasm or sarcastic humor. I’m also not sure how your comment relates to mine.
@@garysakamoto4007 oh I got that was rhetorical question, sorry if that came out as pedantic, what I was trying to get at is, I think it has less to do with the face masks and more to do with the skin tone + clothes your wearing, like those old racist jokes "white with sneakers, runner; black with sneakers, thief" sadly there are still people who genuinely have this mentality
The fact that the cops igonred op since she looked different infuriates me so much then they even listened to the manager and karen before taking a look at the cctv is just adding salt on the wound
Story 4: Karen needs to realize that not everyone’s health is perfect nor at her standard…and they people…even healthy people…have medical issues they are none of her freaking business. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t good at what they do. Everyone’s physique is unique and not everyone can have a perfect body. Some of us are just grateful to still be able to get out of bed in the morning.
In the coffee shop story, I'm not appalled by the Karen (Karen will be Karen) but by the actions of the coffee shop manager. OP should go after them and that business will all the gusto she can manage. So much of this crap that is going on nowdays would stop if they were held accountable.
My child has an "invisible" disability. She is absolutely gorgeous, to the point that people stop us everywhere to comment on her beauty. SO, when she has an episode, it's assumed she's a brat and I'm a bad parent. People like the elderly woman in the story can bring tears to your eyes with just simple understanding.
that woman at the grocery store who help that person is the kind of person i like to see helping someone who has a child with special needs is always the right thing to do
Two of my grandchildren are mixed. Since they have been in my life, I have seen first-hand how racist people can be! It breaks my heart! They have been put through some bullshit, too. There have been multiple incidents at school where they were singled out. I won't even go into it. Then, there are the public incidents. Getting on right behind me, a bus driver asked them where they thought they were going. He didn't realize we were together, even though we had been standing together at the bus stop. I turned around and asked him why it mattered. I pointed out he hadn't asked me! He knew he had messed up and just drove. I didn't take it any further because the children asked me not to. They were adolescents at the time. A food demonstrator in a grocery store told my 8 yo grandson he couldn't have a sample without a parent with him. I was standing right next to him. When I asked him if a grandparent was okay, he realized his mistake and apologized. Yet, again, the cops have stopped at my house on three separate occasions, having either seen my grandson and/or his friends out front or right after they pulled in the driveway. They "fit the description" yada, yada, yada! They get asked questions, then, I am summoned and asked how long they have been there and other such crap! It makes me angry! I can understand better, now.
"I bought it" "How?" "Sorry, do I ask how you obtained your zirconium and plastic bangles?" That or long, long lecture about how "work" and "money" work. I have alllll day to screw with these people
Then, "oh! You're trying to *extort* me. This is *extortion*! Ohhh! I get it. Ok, back up and say that last line again! Actually, lemme get my phone out to record you trying to extort me! Ok, ready? We're recording live! Go!"
Story 2: As a high-functioning autistic man, I loved the way this story ended. In my own experience, life is difficult for autistic people because we have difficulty learning about communication norms. I have improved over the years, but I still have problems related to autism that interfere with my ability to express myself clearly. I have a brother who is able to talk, but only on the level of a child of about two, albeit with a much larger vocabulary, despite his inability to comprehend what many of the words he knows means. He, too, can appear to be his proper age to those who haven't met him, but he often does things that reveal the truth. When people support us instead of judging us by our appearances, it is much easier for us to manage things.
Story 2: I have autism myself, but I'm high functioning so I'm able to do things other people can. But what Karen said about autism not being a real disability, it really struck a nerve with me. She doesn't have a right to say this and autism can have different forms. Perhaps she's not educated enough about what autism is.
Fluff you can't really think in situations like that when you have people screaming and throwing around accuations. "We weren't working off of racial stereo types" If they weren't the first thing they would have done is check the cameras. I'm a little angry with OP for not pressing against the woman, suing the store, and the police department. A clear message needs to be sent to people like that or the racism will never end.
Hey guys! Who has a baby I can borrow? I demand to be a parent for only a little while. 😂
You can borrow my 5 year old for a short while? I will have to be very near by though. She is an amazing human.
I have two a three year old and a 15 month old. You'd really only want them for 5 mins. They are ridiculous together
I've got a 19 & a 20 yr old that you can borrow. I'm positive you'll bring them back! 😂

Prove to us you can take care of an egg for a weekend first.
Should have sue police department, coffee shop, and Karen for deformation of character and false arrest. Since you have the video you have a pretty good case.
Has to actually have happened first
Defamation.
I agree Jay, need to hit them in the wallet to make an impact and so they stop doing this crap.
Yes these people need to learn a lesson that you cannot just harass someone who is minding their own business.

A former friend of mine claimed all five of her boys had autism, including the one that was 11 month old at the time, tho none had EVER been to a doctor after they were born

At this point as a police officer I would’ve arrested the Karen for wasting my time

By trying to break one stygma, they created another for people like Karen where "they are perfectly normal like you and me, just learns differently" registered with the "my kid is lazy" to form the opinion in such a Karen's mind that "Autism is just an excuse cause your kid learns a bit weirdly, not a retardation, and thus is not a mental disability." (Btw I am using retardation in the medical term, of someone so disabled they have lost the function of self awareness to signify the severity, not to insult at all)
Such cases have actually proven to cost lives, as some OCD and Autistic went mental after being dragged from their task, and I remember a person with ADHD who's caregivers (prescribing to the "he just can't concentrate" as web MD is all they get for medical training) thought "finally, he shut up" when the guy doubled back on the group walk and jumped off an overpass to end his life due to a glimpse of depression they had not been told exists with ADHD, even after the fact.
Sorry for the rant, it is kind of a cause I am passionate about, but all this to try and say that I understand and you're not alone. Rather, to make matters worse, you went from the mental version of someone in a wheelchair, to the mental version of "that person is taking it" which really sucks.
The manager just believed the lying Karen, it happens all the time.
Story 2: Bless that woman! She saw the struggle of OP and did the best thing in the world.
My non verbal daughter has Down Syndrome. She loves the Caroline carts! We have discovered that we are lucky to have a girl with an easily recognizable disability.
Story 1: That sister doesn't sound a Little Crazy...she sounds a LOT Crazy...and CPS will tell the Entitled Sister to Pound Sand if she demands access/Parental Rights to her Niece...
If that was my Sister-in-law I wouldn't leave her in a room alone with kids.
Story 3: I really hope that right as Karen was being a racist, her whole house got robbed right then and there.
Getting used to it is not an answer. she should have sued that coffee shop.
Just going on the title here. I had a girlfriend who's father was rich. He owned 7 cat scan machines he rented out to the local hospitals.
Be well all, and I hope what I have said is helpful to somebody.
story 1: Karen-sister; *takes OP's daughter for a ride for some "quality time with Auntie"*
*OP calls the Cops and reports sister for kidnapping*
sister: *surprised Pikachu face*
OP should have sued the coffee shop and the management for racial discrimination
I gotta call BS on the coffee phone story. 1 because the Coffee shop people refused to listen to OP or allow the police to see the security footage. 2nd itd be *way* too easy to prove it was her phone - either thru lock screen, photos, etc.
The woman who intervened in the second story is an angel from above. :)
That woman in the bakery would've ended up in an oven for being the witch she was! I'm an autism mom and people are absolutely lovely with my little girl whom has similar behavior. I'm one heck of a mama bear so I fear for any Karen.
My son is on the spectrum hes nonverbal and a pretty calm kid so though i dont understand the struggles of a kid on a different part of the spectrum i can kind of sympathise with you and the mother in the story
She should have been suspicious because those cookies were gingerbread houses.
I love the older woman in the second story, who managed to brighten the OPs day after having to deal with a miserable person.
The lady at the coffee shop, breaks my heart, how can people treat others like that?
Well knowing it's a fake story should help
Third story, you need to sue the coffee shop, the shop owner and the Karen. I would not stop there I would go to the news and Facebook and as would inform Karen's husband and his employer.
3rd story. This is the reason you video everyone involved when you are having a crazy AF person on you. The manager and this woman would be fired from their jobs for racial profiling this woman.
Don't bet on it.
Fake story
Story 3: I hope she sues the Karen, the shop and the cops, screw that human waste
The best coach i ever had was an old man who walked with a staff his physical abilities had no impact on how wonderful of a coach he was a coach doesnt need to be physically fit to be an amazing coach
I had a Drill Sargent in Basic that kept berating me for not being able to run fast enough, even though I had a 4F rating for both bad feet and circulation problems in my legs. He kept telling me, "I'll make you screw up, then I'll get you into the boxing ring where I'll beat the shit out of you."
He grabbed me one day and told me that I had just volunteered to help load a huge coil of rope on a flatbed truck and to wait there until he found five more volunteers.
With how the coffee shop treated OP I'm surprised that the owner didn't come out and help op
@@michaelterrell sorry its just that I've been working at a 7-11 and there are some times where I see and even sometimes work with the owner.

Phone lady: Obviously stereotyping. Also, first it was stolen from the son, then someone else? WTF?
You got it backwards. She accused OP of stealing it from someone else first then from her son.
If the phone had a finger print scanner then they should have had Karen try to unlock it with her finger print
Ring it from the manager's phone. Karen will say she has not memorized the number, but OP will. Ask the manager to tap any app and watch who's profile pops up on that app. Take a look at the contact list with the manager, ask Karen to name ONE. That story has really shitty grammar for someone how claims to be so proud of their education... It's a fake story, dude.
@@Leongon it's karma bait. Of course it's a fake story, there are elements of real stories in there, but they're subtly incongruent, and make the whole story infeasible when you look at it.
@@andorfedra still there's a bunch of people arguing against me for saying that it's likely a fake story in other comment threads ... Like I'm personally attacking OP or something. I'm flabbergasted at some people's inability to think even a little bit critically.
Nah, you don’t even engage these people just walk away and let the cops deal with them. And if they hold you there it’s false imprisonments
@@Leongon Yeah, as I noted, never does anyone think of checking the contacts list. It's just a ploy to make a story,. I don't buy half of these tales, and that may be generous.
If I had been in that coffee shop, the Karen would definitely get an earful from me. So would the manager and the police.
If I had been in that cafe and seen that happen. I would have spoken up in defence of that woman.
That’s shameful and disgusting behaviour. It makes me sad that the story didn’t include that other customers stepped in to support that it was her phone and NOT Karen’s.
I love that logic, I wonder if Bill Belichick can keep up with any of the players on his team? And he's only won what 6 Super Bowl rings, and been there more times then that.
What a slacker right?
I was around 20 at the time and was coming home from going to the store. Cops randomly stopped me and put me in the back of their car while they searched my backpack.
That story was fake karma bait and no racial profiling does not happen all the time move on from that tired old story
@@totalldwarf640 Ah yes, telling someone who's a victim of racial profiling that they weren't racially profiled. Just gonna go ahead and report, block, and move on. I have no time or patience to deal with people like you.
I understand the person in the last story. I was in roller derby and covid took me out. Its been a year and I still don't have endurance to sprint even 10 laps. All the doctors say is, "if you lose 50 lbs" everything will just go away" ugh.
My response to anyone who would say “you don’t look disabled” will alway be “well you don’t look very intelligent so it seems you can’t always rely on looks”
Taking notes.
I think an insult would be worded as "well, you actually look intelligent" or "well, you don't look stupid" before the rest. Your statement is implying you were wrong about them NOT being very intelligent based on their looks.
The best response I think is "You don't look inbred."

@@LeeMarty1999 I’m not telling anyone how to identify, I’m telling them what those terms mean and that they are medically and socially outdated.
@@LeeMarty1999 hey I'm actually autistic and yes functioning labels are pretty harmful
@@primrosevale1995
You were.
Her: Your type can't have a phone like that!
Me: your type is a waste of oxygen.
“That’s obviously not your phone”
*casually unlocks it* Oh really?
That story with the handicapped girl is priceless! Keep them coming :)
I think the woman in the third story just wanted a free phone for herself, and tried to use racial profiling to get it
She was a professional con woman. That's pretty standard behavior.
Well the lady in the third story isn't real. That story is obvious karma bait
Last story: That mother has it in for OP from the start. She followed him from the start, filmed him at the track from a distance and ran straight to the Head Coach with the video. Fortunately the Head Coach had the sense to stifle her on the spot.
The older woman in story #2 needs to be sainted. I hope the fates are kind to her.
"I'm sorry but they arent ready yet." Actually pretty humble for a Karen
Story #3: OP should have pressed charges against Karen at the very least. Also lawsuit against the coffee shop and police.
As a retail manager I would have asked OP if she had photos of herself on the phone also if she had social media and compare the name with her ID.
Karen claims the phone is her son's... "Fine, ask her to call her son. I'll turn the ringer volume all the way up"
“Her freedoms to infect everyone.” of course it was included.

It’s his daughter not yours and you’re a grown woman he don’t have to share everything, what is wrong with some people.
I thought that OP was a woman
Story 2: I have autism myself, but I'm high functioning so I'm able to do things other people can. But what Karen said about autism not being a real disability, it really struck a nerve with me. She doesn't have a right to say this and autism can have different forms. Perhaps she's not educated enough about what autism is.
I hope someone tries something like this on me
As a poc, i'm so disappointed with the outcome of the second story. She should've pressed charges on them it's not fair.
Fluffo 😍
Fluffo!👍👍👍
@@Mrs_Sugar_Min 😂 haha hello again!
@@themeantuber hi again, I'm going to add my Mr. Fluffington stuffy as my background.😊
@Druid of Scosglen you are 100% right. That was the kind of racism that needs to be considered criminal behavior.
