Arithmophobia is the fear or prejudice concerning specific numbers. It's not about all the numbers. It is a more severe case of "lucky/unlucky" numbers, like some people believe that when the single-digit sum of the numbers of the date are a specific number (let's say "5"), something bad will happen. A better example, is the movie titled "Number 23" with Jim Carrey.

In English, why is it CLAUStrophobia? we have combined Greek and Latin (of course!) The term claustrophobia comes from Latin claustrum "a shut in place" and Greek φόβος, phóbos, "fear".
I think is greek origin klino κλείνω is verb close in ancient greek language is older than Latin Κλείω κληω klio . κλειδί key ,there are so many words that has klio esoklio apoklio etc
Hello and thank you for this video! It got me worried with the word that means love of animals so I asked my teacher. She said η φιλοζωία and η ζωοφιλία mean love and taking care of animals, protection of animals. and not in any weird ways! η κτηνοβασία is the weird one.
I would also like to add that, in the greek language, when a word comes BEFORE the "-philia", it means "sexual attraction, like "ζωοφιλία". When the word "philo/i" comes first, it means you like the thing the word is talking about, like "φιλοζωία", "φιλόζωος". Φιλόζωος means "the one who is friend with animals". Ζωόφιλος means "the one who fucks animals".
We go into this in the video. -philia doesn't only mean sexual attraction, but all kinds of attraction, even to things like concepts and ideas. And ζωοφιλία can also be used to describe animal lovers more generally, just like φιλόζωος does. I don't know whether this use is erroneous, by the way...
Yes, I've watched the video. I'm just clearing this up because these two words got their meanings distorted over the years. People use the greek word for zoophilia as both normal and sexual attraction, because there is no alternative in english. But as far as greek goes, when the subject goes in front of the philia, it always means sexual attraction. People have this wrong, they use these two as interchangeable but they are not. :)

Στα γερμανικά όμως δεν βάζουμε το "και" = "und" στη μέση ("dreizehn" και όχι "dreiundzehn"). Αυτό αρχίζει να συμβεί μόνο μετά το είκοσι, "einundzwanzig, zweiundzwanzig" κ.ο.κ.
«Δεν» is used before words starting with a vowel or κ, π, τ, ντ, μπ, γκ, ξ, ψ. Every other consonant takes a «δε». Same with «μην» and «μη», «τον» and «το» (for male), «την» and «τη».
@@valrpz894 Kind of. With some letter combinations it takes extra effort to pronounce that ν (for example: «μην μιλάς» as opposed to «μη μιλάς») so in the spoken word it's mostly not said at all. It seems small but it adds up fast. I think this rule has come to consolidate the spoken and written forms of the language.

Also in Greek, we have the word: "κλείστρο", pronounced as klistro, which translates: shutter. So, claustro definitely derives from this word
