A great video thank you, just what I need before I attempt the job myself. My original valve has no water pipes attached but the replacement has the pies for hoses to be fitted. The mechanism for operating the valve is different as well, but the supplier assures me it is the current type and fine to fit.
Hey 👋 all I would say is when you get your one off make sure the new one is the same if not then take your old one to the parts place and get them to match it up from the part numbers on the old unit 👍 good luck let me know how you get on
Got the same engine, I'll drive for a bit then come to a set of lights and the vans tries to cut out then revs it's self back upto 1,000 revs, would egr be the case?
hey, awesome video thanks so much! Very clear and easy to follow. I've got one quick question - I see your replacement EGR valve already comes with the little metal pipes sticking out the side to attach the coolant hoses on to. I've just ordered one for my Mk7 Transit and it hasn't come with these (but it is water cooled), so do you think I should (a) try and find an EGR valve with the little pipes (and if so where did you get yours from?) or should I (b) try and get the pipes out of the old one and just use those?
Hey thank you! I would say try get one with new pipes attached, I got mine from euro car parts, give them a call? Good luck with the install let me know how it goes 😊
i have the same truck 2.4 tipper started to heavy smoke and lose power ive got a blanking plate to see if that helps but im struggling to find out exactly were it goes any help would be greatly appreciated
Hi, the blanking plate will go on the pipe that feeds the exhaust gas into the egr stopping the recirculation. But you may find you get a eml light on if you do, it might be worth asking a local tuning company about getting it mapped out once it’s blocked off so you don’t have any more issues. 👍
thank you mate i really appreciate the fast reply and the advice is it easier to do it from underneath or can it be done from the top sorry im not a mechanic and im desperate to get it back on the road@@MrAutoFixer
My auto mechanic broke the screw that holds the agr pipe. The opposite side of the side where the hose connects to the EGR valve. Now he refuses to repair it because too much work?!! Everything has to be removed to get to that broken screw. My question is, is that screw broken in the engine block or does the EGR hose screw directly onto the turbine? My van is whistling right now. Strength is also questionable. Need to fix that, but if it's broken in the turbine, they say I have a big problem, if it's a block engine, then it's not a big problem. What do you think? Greeting
Hi sorry to hear your having problems, either way if it’s broken it will need to be fixed, I think you need to seek advice from a different mechanic and get a second opinion, maybe the mechanic your using sis just not confident in doing that kind of job? Sorry I can’t be any more help and hope you get it sorted ✅
Can you or anybody else, whether a watercooled valve will last longer than a simple one? In case, is it possible and wirthwile to go for an "upgrade" , when the standard AGR is due for service. Regards Heinz
Personally, if the part fails I like to swap like for like as that’s how it was intended from the factory if the part is brand-new there was no reason why it shouldn’t work efficiently
Hi mate ive got codes under boost code, 1 injector. Glow plug code 😂 been told that stuck egr can throw alot of codes when stuck. Came across this when it comes to egr ?
Yes one fault can cause multiple codes, best thing to start with is to clear the codes and see what comes straight back if none come on straight away then go for a drive and check again, once you have a code if it’s only one then I would start there, also watch the live data and check the operation of the egr and see if it’s works correctly, it’s a transit so it’s defo gonna need at least one injector 😂, another test that’s good on these is a smoke test to check for boost leaks 👍 let me know how you get on
@MrAutoFixer thanks mate appreciated. I've cleared around 5 days ago when I had management light. Just had 1 code under boost Then today back on checked and had around 5 codes 😆 van had 4 new injectors around 4,000 miles ago hoping it not cost fortune lol
@MrAutoFixer im using forscan I see there's a live data bit. Silly question but I take it would just say egr live data ect. And will van need to be running awhile for egr to start showing data ?
Need advice guys... Mk7 first start and drive belt on is not starting just with Quick starter ,after warmed up it starts...once removed the drive belt it starts easily even cold or warm. Checked all the pulleys and everything ...all look fine 🤯 anyone experienced similar before ? Whats the problem ???? Help please 🙏🙏

@@MrAutoFixer thanks, will do! I see now it's available both as cooled and not cooled (ie no pipes), just need to find the cooled one. Thanks again!
Excellent hope they have one in stock for you!

@mbpavinglandscape it will be underneath, it’s the lower pipe the corigated one that you will be fitting the blanking plate too. 👍
thanks mate again i really appreciate it @@MrAutoFixer

Thinking surely can't throw all these codes. You Ever had 1 thing be wrong but messes with other things ?

Sounds like something connected to
The drive belt is failing, if it’s ok when the belt is off, id start there! Good luck 🤞
Blank it off ?
Yh you can if you want to have it mapped out I guess, 👍
